I'm planning a party with a fairy theme for the child of a friend of mine and I thought that hand held confetti wands might be fun.
The things is the party will take part in public (we will be taking a city tour by foot and by horse drawn carriage and eating at a nicer restaurant) it will only be 2 or 3 girls.

My question is is it illegal to throw confetti in public?
Could we get in trouble for littering?

I don't know.

But if you decide not to go with them, I have seen adorable wands that have shimmery streamers that stay attached to the ends. I bet the girls would still have fun with that kind.

It would most defintely be littering. If you were having the party at a roller rink or elsewhere, they wouldn't let you do it or would make you clean it up. There's really enough debris thrown about, I wouldn't want to add to it.

what about some sort of bubble wand instead of confetti?

Of course it is littering. I would find something else.

My rule of thumb is I won't make a mess I cannot clean up myself.

I've seen the wands with streamers and that effect would last much longer.

Not a fan of the bubble wands. It seems we end up with more bubble soap on us!

Sounds like a fun party though. I am sure the girls will love it.

I would skip confetti! If it is slippery people can fall on it. ANd some poor person is going to have to clean it up. Also please be wary that bubbles indoors can make the floor slippery. Outdoors, bubbles would be fun! What are those wands that you can wave, they have like sparkly ribbons hanging from them? They are fun and pretty!

We were going to use confetti on tables in a hall that we rented for a party and were told not to because it is very hard to vacuum it up after. It was that metallic kind meant for tables. I see where they were coming from because it is a pain to clean up, so we didn't end up using it. I would think that outside would be even worse. I second the wands with streamers that don't come off.

Can anyone send me a link? I didn't see anything like that when I was looking - except for the dance ribbions gymnasts use - which is not quite the effect I'm going for.

Just curious...how old are these girls that they'd have a fairy theme with wands, yet doing a walking tour of the city?

Will the birthday(I'm guessing) girl want a Fairy themed event?

If they are old enough for a nicer restaurant , they may be too old for Fairy stuff.:)
