Odd question regarding DME and airline check-in

I'm staying at Pop and I know that Southwest is included in the resort check-in for DME, but I'm going to have two seats, as I'm a Customer of Size. As such, they ask that you not check-in online and instead do it at the desk at the airport when you get there. Will I be able to use RAC in this case, or should I just wait until I get to the airport to check in? If I wait until the airport, will I still be able to have DME store my luggage on my departure day or will I have to hold onto it until I get picked up by DME to go to the airport?

Thanks! :flower3:

I'm am going to say that you are going to have to wait until you get to MCO to check your bags. You can only use RAC if you are actively checking in with them....and since they want you to checkin, at the counter at MCO, then that lets out RAC.
You can store your bag(s) with luggage assistence that day. Be sure to be there to collect the baggage about 30 mins before your DME pickup time. Many have waited too long to get their bags and they have been frantic since it took the CMs awhile to find the bags.

Okay, that's what I'd figured :) I just wanted to make sure, since this is the first time I've used DME. Thanks! :flower3:

On Southwest, customers of size with two seats may board early even if they have "C" boarding passes. However the 24 hour advance check in should still be gone through if there are others in the party.

Oh, I know :) I spoke to a Southwest rep about the other Customers of Size (why'd it bleep it out originally?) questions I had, but this was something they obviously couldn't answer. Thank you anyway! :flower3: I'm traveling alone, so there's no one in the party to check in but me.

The abbreviation for Customer of Size seems to be a slang obscenity in Britain ;) although I don't know for what.

It means *#$&.

Sorry, couldn't help myself.:lmao:

I have no idea what it means. I googled and there are a bazillion slang words in Britian, but not one for that.

The abbrevation is the name of "banned" site. There was/is a sticky somewhere entitled "All about the recent bannings" or something like that.

Is using RAC considered doing on-line check-in? Or is it airport check-in (just not at the airport)? I assume it is on-line check-in, but have doen remote check-in where it was just as if I had checked in at the airport (Paddington Station used to have it, for example, prior to 2001).

You can definitely store your bags even if you don't use RAC. Since I don't have a domestic flight, I can never use RAC, but bell services will store my bags for me. Not quite as convenient (and involves tipping) but it works.

The best way I found it explained was that RAC is like doing curbside check-in 30 miles away from the curb.;)

You can go online on Southwest to get your boarding order, but you don't want to check-in online, and then go to RAC. You essentially get locked out of the computer, because you have already checked in.

This happened to a girl in front of us at RAC last year; boy, was she hot.... she didn't realize she had already "checked-in" when she did it the night before on her computer - she thought she was just saving herself a step.

Well, what I was told by Southwest was that the boarding procedure for a Customer of Size with two seats (basically, one who followed the rules) is a little different from a standard customer. This customer is encouraged to pre-board because of the requirement of needing two seats together (because wouldn't it suck to pay for two seats and board late and then have one seat at the front of the plane and one at the back and then have to make someone move?), they want them to check in at the airport, not online, so that they can give the customer the other documentation for their flight (blue sleeve, refund advice, etc). That's what's causing my confusion with the RAC, since I don't think they'd have those documents at the desk at Disney. I think I'll just play it safe and have them store my stuff in luggage services and check in at the airport.

Thanks, everyone! :flower3:
