"Odd" Disney Pins

There are other Disney pins that are not part of the "pin trading" pins. Ex: I received a "Walt Disney Imagineering" pin celebrating DLR's HM as a birthday gift. Very impressive, larger than your average pin, with great detail and colors...

If you know where to look, there are still some VMK (Virtual Magic Kingdom) pins out there as well, left over from the heady days of VMK...

And there's a "Hidden Disney" series, celebrating past attractions, like this one, showing Minnie as the Maid in the Adventurer's Club...

If you can't afford to or won't spend the money to purchase real pins, you have no business collecting or trading them.
I'd counter this by saying that if you can't tell a real pin from a fake one, you have no business trading; a "real collector" best purchase your pins at full price direct from Disney to make sure they're authentic.

As so many PP have said, if I like the pin I trade for, I could care less if it's real or not, as I won't be trying to resell it for a profit. And any "real collector" should know that CMs don't vet the pins they trade for, so getting one from a CM is no guarantee. As someone who collects a few other things of no intrinsic value, "buyer beware."

I don't really have any weird pins, as I usually only buy whatever resort we stay at, any party we attend, and any holiday we happen to visit on (I've seen the Tax Day one and chuckled--along with Race Week). But WOW with 88,000 already, the designers must really have to use their imaginations!! Which makes for a neat topic, OP. Sorry I didn't add much value ;)
