Odd but maybe good for everyone---What do you think?

Ok, so we are trying to plan a trip maybe in Aug. but our dates would be Aug17th to Aug 24th. Due to my sons school starting Aug.27th. So we are thinking ok we won't make Free Dinning so we have 2 rooms on hold at AKL with AAA. And after booking the CSR says to me, "call back 1st thing Monday morning and you will be in for a treat?" I said to her" I had already heard about the Free Dine but heard the dates don't start until Aug 26 and thats to late for us, but thanks anyway" I was thinking maybe she just forgot that our dates don't match then she said again. " I can't say anything more, just call back Monday morning and ask to see if anything I can get anything else special with my trip? But said she couldn't say anything more??????????????????????????? Odd huh??? What do you think.. Is she just messing with me, because due to mousesaves.com it even has dates listed that are not matching ours either???? so do you think it is possible that the dates are wrong and so more people like us might end up getting free dine also??? I wish!!!

Wow! Please keep us updated because my travel dates are off just a bit too. (8/21 to 8/27) Also are you a visa card holder? Beacause only visa card holders can book on Monday the rest of us must wait until the 12th.

Sounds very interesting. I originally booked our trip through CSR at Disney, but then decided to join trip AAA (saved about $90 and got a better "view"). Aug 12 - 19 at WL, so I accepted the fact that we missed free dining. So, if we just call to check on Monday (we have a Disney Visa as well), can we go through a CSR at Disney, or does AAA now own the reservation, and I have to go through them? Will AAA know about any new discounts on their own? Our agent already told me that she can apply a code to our reservation (if they would come out with free hoppers or something like that since I convinced myself we would not be getting FDP).

I talked to AAA today and let them have my Resv. for the trip because if there is a Free Dine during my time for the trip then I get both AAA discount and Free Dine but it has to be done by them. If I do it myself Disney says I can only have one discount not both?
But like I said before, if the dates are correct I don't see us getting the Free Dine

Wow!! I think I will call first thing Monday also. I am a Disney Visa card holder. I can't make the Aug 26 date because I start college classes that week. I could make it for Aug 17 and stay for five nights. I would love free dining. I don't think I would enjoy doing Disney as much if I had to do it without the dining plan. It's so nice not having to worry about where I am going to eat because my ADR's are already in place.

We have Disney visa too. Waiting and hoping for early August free dining. I will be calling Monday morning!!!
I just got a great deal on airfare for Aug. 10-17. Detroit to Orlando for $115pp. Thats $460 for all 4 of us!! I paid $215pp about 7 years ago!!! We dont have a room booked yet, were gonna hold out for free dining or a deal on a room!!!

And Disney reservations opens at what time in the morning???

We are booked Aug 6-14 at POR and have given in to the fact that we will not get free dining, Disney Visa or not...Oh, well, maybe less crowds to deal with? Guess I will be cancelling AAALL those ADRs I made sometime ago (Except CRT, that is!)

Still holding out for something special for us early August'ers, though. Would Disney really leave us all without a small surprise?

I hope that I am wrong, since I have AAA, but I have read here that you can't get both the AAA discount AND free dining (even if they offer it during your dates). You have to give up the AAA rate to get the free dining. I know you can add and pay for the dining plan and get a AAA rate, just not free dining.

I am watching this site... wonder what in the world the CM was talking about. Our vacation dates are off the Free dining deal by just a few days and it doesn't make good fiscal sense to reserve two packages just to get free dining. I would love the dates to be off just a couple of days. Well... here's hoping.

I have to agree with this, you can't stack discounts, no matter who you book through. It would be nice to get BOTH a room discount and free dining, but you can't.

Instead of y'all calling Monday morning--and blocking up the CRO phone lines even further--why don't you just check the Disney Visa website early Monday morning? I'm sure the promo by then will be up, and will have the dates. It might even be on the Disney website by then.

That will it'll save you sitting on hold for 20 minutes...and will free up the lines for those of us who are actually going during the free dining times.

It may not be the free dining that is on offer for those dates though, there may be another offer.

I called and booked my room this morning and the CM said she could not confirm or deny the free dining and then laughed and asked me if I made all my ADR's. She was too funny.

My friend called today and made her room ressie and her CM told her the free dining dates will start on August 22nd and not the 26th. Has anyone heard that??
