We have only ever been to Disney (or FL in general, for that matter) in January. We are heading down for the week of Halloween this year. Up here (Vermont - almost in Canada), we plan for snow on Halloween. All costumes are made to wear a snow suit underneath. Obviously, this will not be the case in Disney, but what is the weather actually like in Orlando in late October?? My internet research says 70's, but I feel like that might be wishful thinking. I don't want to pack for nice mild days and end up melting because it is actually 90!

I haven’t been there that time of year, but we will be there the week before Halloween this year. My internet research says low-mid 80s for the week I’m there. Hopefully someone with actual experience can come help us!

I will be there October 14-21....this is something I have really been struggling with. I feel like there is a chance it could be really hot and there is a chance it could be cool. Therefore I am stumped about Halloween costumes for MNSSHP.

DH and I were at WDW last October. It was very hot and humid! We both used cooling towels. We ended up not wearing our Halloween clothes for MNSSHP since it was so hot. Hopefully it won't be that hot this year?!

Good to know. I tried to do costumes that wouldn't be too hot, but could also be altered should it get cool.

We bought lightweight costumes for the kids. This was our first time not making their costumes so they are less than impressed, but I think the cheepo light fabric will end up being the best choice. We have a Peter Quill (insert giant eye roll), an X-Wing pilot, and a Queen Elsa in her magic ice dress. DH and I will be in costumes, but they are made from regular clothes, so it will be easy to add or subtract layers if needed (Gaston and blue dress Belle).

Mid Oct is usually our travel time. Usually its still pretty warm. It can vary a lot though so brining layers is a good idea. We have been there when is been so cold we've had to go shopping for sweatshirts and pants. Other times its been so hot and humid I could't imagine what the middle of July feels like.

I don't think you will EVER catch me in FL in July. Even days in January are warm for my taste! This will be an interesting undertaking. At least we know the water parks will be open! We've gone a couple times in January and they have been closed. It is nice when they are open on "chilly" days and it is just you and another hardy northern family enjoying the entire park when it is -15 at home!

This has been my experience also. I have been going in October for the last 7 years and every year is different. Mostly the weather is still pretty hot but 1 year it was cold and rainy the whole trip. The next year it was in the 90s. The best thing you can do is check the forecast right before you leave.

I soooooo wish we were going in January! Haha! Hopefully MNSSHP will be worth the (literal) sweat!

I don't mind the heat, especially since I live up north and usually come home to cold weather. To me it does not seem right to go to WDW when it is cold. But cold is a relative term since they really do not get cold cold that often. I love MNSSHP. The parade is the best and I watch it both times. Not to mention the F&WF.

Hi!

2014 - 10/21-10/30 - warm, not humid, beautiful weather all week. Needed a light sweater at night.

2017 - 10/25 - 11/3. Chilly! Wore pants/jackets a few days, nights were just plain cold, needed jackets/jeans. Started to warm up near end of trip (of course) so we could wear shorts again. No pool time this trip, not very fun. Hopefully that was just a freak cold snap.

I've been several times in mid-October and our experience has been:

mornings ( 9a-ish ) : between 70-75 and a bit humid
by noon: in the 80s. ( only 1 year did it hit low 90s - it was an odd year )
by sunset : mid-70s.

October can be a mixed bag with weather but it's still pleasant.
