Good Morning, We have gone during both October and December. Although we LOVE the world at Christmas time we really enjoyed October and the halloween decorations. We went to MNSSHP and had a blast. We did not find the crowds to be all that bad but then again I really don't think Disney has a slow season anymore. The weather was fantastic and we were able to go swimming everyday. I don't recall it raining that much either. Being your DD has 2 days off from school, that's also another plus. December's weather is ok not great. But that's just us. Good luck with your decision.

We went for a long weekend mid-October and had an awesome time! The weather was perfect. To me, it's just not a Disney vacation unless the weather is warm. I look at pics of people wearing jeans and sweaters in December and January and it just isn't the same. Just my personal opinion, of course. When we went it was a bit crowded on Saturday but pretty quiet on Sunday. We practically walked on every ride. I think I would choose October over any other time of year.

I went in early October last year and I loved it, the decorations for Fall and Halloween were great. I went to MNSSHP and I really loved the parade. I have been to MVMCP several times so a different themed parade was quite a treat.
The wait for the lines was about 10 minutes most times, with a lot of the rides being walk on. Of course this was not true for Peter Pan and Soarin, but generally the wait time was minimal.
I've been pretty lucky with the weather in December too, this Dec the weather was in the mid to low 80s, a fluke I know but I wore tee shirts and shorts the whole time. In past years I've changed to jeans and taken a sweatshirt for the evenings, but usually you can wear shorts and tees during the day.
The first few weeks of December are getting more and more crowded, each year I have seen an increase in the crowds. So I think the secret about it being a slow time of year has gotten out But I do enjoy the Christmas decorations.
So far though I think October is still a less busy time to go, so decide which decorations you prefer and have a great time.

Thanks everyone!! I think Im going to switch to Oct.!! plus it will be here sooner than Dec.!! Thanks all!

We were there at WDW that same week in October/November last year. It was a great week with a little rain, but lots of magic. We have visited WDW in 2003 and 2005 during that December time frame. We loved both of those visits too. It really depends on what you want to do more.

October/November: MNSSHP, F&W Festival, still warm/hot with some rain but not as humid as summer.

December: MVMCP, CP, Osborne Lights, Pop Warner & MouseFest crowds, and lots of holiday magic with variable weather from HOT to bone chilling COLD!

We have come to the conclusion that the holidays are much merrier with a little dash of pixie dust. Happy planning!
