October price increases coming to Disneyland?

What I also think Disneyland is trying to do now with this price increase is that they are hoping that they get a big attendance record for Christmas and New Year's Eve and once New Year's Day begins "as I mentioned in my previous post" Disneyland will lower the prices to prepare for Spring 2025 because people do visit Disneyland around Spring Break and Easter and that's when the park gets more busy. What I think Disneyland should've done is concentrate on a lower price change for Lightning Lane because I cannot what makes Lightning Lane passes so pricey for people who want to ride certain rides and they want to ride the certain rides they chosen to use their Lightning Lane pass on they find that ride broken at times and I don't know how people manage to buy Lightning Lane passes when they know it is not worth the money at all. But I think what will be hurting is the Disneyland Resort hotels like Pixar Place Hotel Disneyland Hotel and Grand Californian Hotel because I think this Disneyland price increase has made rooms impossible to get at those hotels due to their new prices. I also think due to this price increase as I also mentioned Disneyland will lose visitors and people will start going elsewhere to the other Southern California amusement parks like Universal Studios Hollywood Magic Mountain Knott's Berry Farm and Legoland in Carlsbad. I am also shocked at Disneyland's price increases for food and like I mentioned who pays for a $6 box of popcorn? Because that alone is shocking to me. How much does a meal cost at The Golden Horseshoe now and how much is a character breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen now? Because probably nobody will pay these shocking prices for food in Disneyland now

I don't even know where to go with some of your thoughts...

But, people buy the popcorn for $6 all day every day. We always buy popcorn when we visit (multi times a month) in a bucket (so like $12-14 as I recall) to bring home to munch on. For the prices of Goofys Kitchen or Golden Horseshoe, you can easily look up the prices on google. People are paying them, I promise you that...

And the other parks are not all cheaper. I went to Universal Hollywood about a year and a half ago for one day with my bestie and her family (+ my mom). My checkbook is sitting right here, so I looked back at the check I wrote my friend and it was almost $300 for our 2 tickets on a weekday in mid May 2023. That would 100% be in line with the prices at Disneyland. And honestly, I had fun because I was with my friend and her 2 boys, but I feel no need to return to Universal for another 25-30 years. I did not feel the price was anything close to worth it, but I will never let go of my Disneyland pass.

And my final thought. There is 0.00% that Disneyland will ever lower the price of the tickets or passes. They have a ton of overhead (cast members to pay, food to buy, maintenance on rides). One ticket will not pay the wages of an entire ride crew for a day - maybe 1-2 cast members for the day, but not a ride. Everything in this world is going up in price and Disneyland is 100% the same as others. It may suck, but it is basic business and economy. Disney is not in business to lose money.

But they kind of do when they have $50 Kids tickets and whatever the summer ticket sale was this past summer. Of course that is marketing because they are not just lowering the costs but putting them "on sale' so they can save "Save $100" but it will certainly cost less for a family with younger children to go to Disneyland this winter vs going now or in the spring.

Do you not realize how competitive it is to get the high priced dining venues? People are paying $90 per person to have a few desserts and a seat to watch WoC. The same for the premium dining for Fantasmic, where if you aren't fast you won't get it because it books within seconds. And because people are willing to pay the high prices they will continue to charge as much as they can for these things.

I agree that they offer sales and promotions that lower the price, but at the end of the day, the base price that is advertised never goes down. The promotion for kids is a good one if I knew people who could use it. Only 1 kid in my life in the 3-9 range (+the 2 year old) and then the rest of the family still is buying the higher priced tickets. Add in a hotel since they live in San Diego and if coming will stay a few days and Disney is probably pretty even on the prices. And this family will have 2 parents, the 2 kids, plus grandparents and aunt and uncle. And if the out of town part of the family is there another 4-7 more people.
