OK, so DW's request for taking a year off from WDW is almost over. DW no longer wants to take our DS out of school for a family vacation. I was looking at the last week in August for next year, but I know that it's going to be way too hot! I'm then thinking about a shorter trip around either Columbus Day weekend, or Thanksgiving break. I know that during October, we can catch MNSSHP. We've done this in the past, and it was great. However, for Thanksgiving break, DS gets the day before off from school. That means we can add an extra day.

Can someone give me some feedback on the crowd level for each time? It's going to take a lot to get her to go back next year. DS and I can't wait to go back. She's know talking about not going back until 2010. We can't wait that long!!!

I'm curious about this too. Unfortunately it looks like 2010 for our next trip & due to my job I too have to go around school breaks. I'd also like to go when it's not so super hot.

As long as you avoid thanksgiving week the crowds are about as low as they get. We love October since you get Food and Wine at Epcot.

Yes, we've been both in October and November. We've never been during Columbus Day weekend, or during Thanksgiving. From what I've read, Thanksgiving week is like a mad house. :scared1: I've also heard that Columbus Day weekend is also busy with the southern schools having their fall break. :confused3

Any other time in October or November other than Columbus Day weekend and Thanksgiving week are fine. Both of those times are very busy. Honestly, you'd be better of crowd wise the last week of August.

I've been in August before (2nd & 3rd week last year) and I really didn't think the heat/humidity was all that much worse that what we had at home (I live in southern NH). We just made sure we got up and got going early, took a mid-afternoon break and then went back at night.
