October or April?

Does anyone know the past park hours for October, the weather (will it be hot enough to enjoy swimming)? We are also thinking of going in April, what is the weather like then, is it TOO hot? What week would be the best time to go in April to try to avoid as much of the crowds as possible? We went in November (week before Thanksgiving) and really enjoyed ourselves, but would enjoy a little warmer weather and for the parks to be open later.

April is quite busy as a lot of schools have spring vacations in april. I vote for Oct. fi crowds bother you. Usually Oct is fine for swimming and much less crowded.

If I had the choice, I would go in October. I think the weather and crowds would be better in Oct. My guess is it probably rains more in April. We have a fall break at my school in Oct. and I had 2 students in my room travel to WDW. Their parents said the crowds were very low and the weather was great- shorts every day. My vote is for Oct.

I've been reading previous posts and we are now leaning towards October. Four nights Disney World and four night Universal Studios/staying @ the BEAUTIFUL Portofino Bay again!!!

If you want to hit mid-October for the Epcot Food & Wine Festival, it starts on the 18th.

October over April due to crowds - having said that some people like the crowded aspects of April and having MK open to midnight during Easter week

Crowds and weather were about the same, but maybe Oct was a tad bit better than Spring Break in March. Although, if you go in Oct, you can go to the MNSSHP.

I can't speak for October but we just returned from our April trip. The weather was great!! And if you don't go around Easter April is a perfect time to go. We didn't wait more than 30 minutes for any ride (that was stretching it, it was more like 10-15 min) and by 1pm most of the humidity was gone for the day. April does have one of the lowest averages of rainfall also.
