october openings

I was wondering... what do you all think is the chance of more October openings coming up on RCI into DVC? I have been joking about going this year instead of next to DH and last week, my mom said you know, we have a week that needs to be used, do you really wanna go??? UM... YEAHHHHHH Oh course!!! Anywhoo... I'm 100% certain on when my fall break is, which is when we would be going, I'm holding a 2 bedroom a OKW right now, but I'm wondering if I should continue to hold it, or hope something else opens up, what do you all think?

Two bedrooms are not all that plentiful, so if you need that size I would hold on to it, especially when you need a particular week. Then I would buy the insurance (Vacation Protection) for $79. That way if you see anything you like better $79 is all you lose. Then start an Ongoing Search for what you want because ongoing searches are filled first.

the first weekend in October is WDWs 40th anniversary, opening weekend F&W and the marathon. I don't think that weekend will be very available at this point. 7 months it was already hard to book.

I will definetly have to look into that. We'd rather do 2 bedroom just to have the extra space, and DH and I are night people whereas mom and dad are early birds. I could lose $79 especially since the entire week will only cost 179, but we may end up having to settle for a 1 bedroom. We would love to stay closer to a park YC, BW or WL, but the 2 bedroom would be really nice also.

We aren't atually going until the 14th or 15th so we will miss the first weekend activities.
