October Discounts

I just made a reservation yesterday for the end of Oct through the beginning of Nov. I had to make my reservation at the regular room rate since there aren't any codes or AP discounts out yet. I'm very nervous that I will have to pay rack rate and it will really bug me since twice last year I was able to get the $49/night rate at the All Star Resorts. Paying over twice as much for the same room would be upsetting.

I guess what I am asking is...Is there ever a time that absolutely NO DISCOUNTS are offered?

Last year was really huge for discounts - but last year was in my opinion a very special year in terms of discounts. Yes, it's really going to suck to have to pay twice as much for a room as last year, but if Disney doesn't have the occupancy problems they had last year, they won't offer a discount. You can't expect this year's rates to match last year's. It just doesn't work that way, unfortunately for us as consumers.

The time of year you are going is Regular Season. Odds are there may be AP rates, but I wouildn't look for them to be released anytime soon.

I view room rates as taking advantage of a sale at Target...sometimes what I want to buy is on sale and I can take advantage of the sale. Sometimes what I want to buy is not on sale *when* I want to buy it and I have to decide if I want to buy it at the regular price or wait for it to be on sale.

The only time most people can agree that discounts are rarely offered is Holiday Season, from Xmas to New years. Up until last year there were never discounts for that week. Last year there were some discounts, I believe.

Snow Wight.....don't be upset that you may have to pay more this year!! Just be happy that you got such a deal last year!!!
