Hello,

This will be our first trip in October. Have gone in Feb and Spring Break (never again!!). What can we expect as far as crowd levels this time of year?? Also, if we get in around 2:00 pm will we be able to get a fast pass for Soarin, or will they be gone by then.

Thank you.

You never know about Soarin. That attraction seems even busy during the slower times of the year. It's just too popular. Getting a fast pass at 2:00PM would be a risky proposition.

As far as crowd levels for October, you should be ok with the exception of Columbus Day weekend. Even then it shouldn't be too bad.

Here's a link to Touringplans.com crowd calendar. It will give you a better idea about crowds.

We go during the first week of October. Crowds are usually light. Expect EPCOT to be busier due to Food & Wine Festival. As for Soarin', get there early!

When my first timer friends ask what time to go, I always say October! Great weather, the crowds are lighter, and the food and wine festival is going on! You can't lose :cool1:

hi, has free dining ever been offered in oct. i thought i read somewhere it was. i would imagine that would be a definite negative re crowds. thanks in advance

It depends on when. Columbus Day? A weekend day or midweek?

We'll be there through 10/8 on free dining, since we check in 9/30. I believe the max is 10 days, so no free dining after 10/9 I would think.

We were there the first week of Oct. last year and while there were lots of people there it's not anything like summer. And although they were there, we didn't stand in any lines longer than 15 min. And quite a few we walked on. Epcot was by far the most crowded.

thanks for the update on October of last year, I hope it is the same this year going 10-2 thru 10-8 hoping for low crowds, we were there in March 05 and weren't able to do hardly anything due to large... crowds...

I was there last year on Columbus Day weekend, and I thought the crowds were manageable. Epcot did seem a little more crowded because of the Food and Wine Festival, but it still wasn't that bad!

As for Soarin', like the others said....Get there early if you want a fastpass!!

Thanks for all the replies. We will be there the last week in October.

The last week in October looks like the best week to go. Acc. to the crowd blog many days are listed as 4's!!!! Very low crowds.

That's why we plan on going during Oct 28-Nov 4. We can't wait!

We went just before Halloween and it was great. We were used to going in the summer so maybe thats why we were so surprised but we did not wait in any long lines and even the buses weren't packed so I think it is a great time to go- and the weather is still HOT!

Totally OT: As far as Oct. crowds go, don't have anything to say that hasn't already been said, but Nurseypoo's pic of Mr. Depp just made me spill my Diet Coke all over myself. Thanks for that...... :rotfl:

We are going in November this year but hope to go at the end of October next year!! I think it should be a great time of year! :thumbsup2

We went last October and are going again this year from the 21st-28th. The crwds are very manageable and we had great weather last year. F&W does add to the Epcot crowds, but you can enjoy your stroll around with extra beers from the carts they set up. MNSSHP also draws a crowd to MK. It is a great time to go!

Yes, I agree with the other poster...I forgot to mention how hot it still was. The other thing was that it rained quite a bit, but usually for very short spurts. We just threw on a poncho and kept going. Bring some with you...they're much cheaper at home. If you do keep going you'll be glad you did. The parks really cleared out when the rain came. I think you'll truly enjoy that time of year and the MNSSHP was fun! We had a blast...that's why we're about to return in January. I'm just a cold weather girl...that's the only reason we changed our dates from last year.
