October Check in - Halloween and more

Because of the crowds, I'm debating whether we should go on Halloween Day 10/31 as opposed to the weekend before on Friday 10/23.

Is there anything different or special about the DCA Trick Or Treat Event that occurs on Halloween Day 10/31 compared to any other day?

or

Should I expect to see/enjoy the same exact thing on Halloween Day 10/31 if I went the Weekend before on Friday 10/23?

I'll leave it up to DW as to which day we go.....but I wasn't sure if there is anything "special" that is done on Halloween Day itself compared to any other Halloween Event Day.

I was thinking of going with Disney Family on the week before that on the Friday 10/23 and was wondering if there is anything additional that makes it worth going on Halloween day itself.

There is a description of the party on page 4 of this thread. I haven't been to the one at DLR yet, but I haven't heard of any differences in the party on Halloween night as opposed to any other night.

Plane tickets purchased for Oct. 13th-18th. Not sure about where we are staying yet. Hoping for some upcoming deals. Probably will be at the FFI again which would be just fine with me! Love this time of the year at DL.

Finally booked our rooms. Not sure why we didn't show up on the list, but hopefully now that we are booked we can find ourselves on the list. Booked the premium room at Hojos for Oct. 13-18. Will have my DIS board LGM attached to our backpack. Don't hesitate to give us a shout if you see it!

We're trying to decide between Oct 7th - 10th or Oct 14th - 17th? I'm waiting for my sister & BIL to check their schedules. We'll do the MHT Party either the 8th or 15th. We're leaning toward Oct 14th, but I'm worried about crowds due to Columbus Day earlier in the week.

Hopefully we can snag a 2 bedroom villas at the Grand CA.

Oct 14th - 17th it is at the VGC and attending Oct 15th Trick or Treat Party.

We are not planning on going to the trick or treat party. Our
DBIL and DSIL and Dkiddos went last year. Not sure if they will go again this year, as we will be traveling together again this year . Have a great time!

We just took the plunge today and started making arrangements to be there from Oct. 17 to Oct. 21 as a surprise for DS who will turn 13 on Oct. 18. Staying at Hojos.

I keep seeing some of you guys talk about the TOT party, is that the same thing as the Trick or Treat party or do I need another ticket? What exactly is the TOT party and do they have it on Halloween night?? Thanks

Yes, it's the same as the Trick or Treat Party--just a shortened term for it--and yes the Trick or Treat Party/TOT is also on Halloween.

Basically they open Calif. Adventure only to guests with tickets for the event (Cal. Adventure closes early to regular guests those days) and they decorate specially for Halloween. It's amazing how they bring these things out so quickly. They have many "treat" stations with various types of candies and things and give you a bag to collect your goodies in. They also have several character meet stations set up around the park. There are a couple of other things--like a band I believe in Pacific Wharf and dancing and other games for kids. Most of the rides are open. They also have characters walking around doing funny things (like the Green Army Men). It's a lot of fun!

Yipee! I just ordered our tickets for Mickey's Trick or Treat Party and I am so excited! The trip seems so much more real now. Anybody else going to the party on Wed. Oct. 21st?
