Anyone know when Southwest or AirTran will release October airfare?

Thanks

We're waiting, too! (Flying out of Philly)

As far as Southwest goes, and I'm trying to remember here, but for our trip this past October, I think they updated in May that included October.

Looks like Airtran's now booking up to September. Possibly, they'll do an update in February that'll include October??

We like Southwest, and not yet flown with Airtran, but we'll go with whatever airline has that popular $79 fare first!

We are going the week before you, Oct 13-21, lets keep an eye out on airfare for each other

Jumping in too, we're going Oct 20-28th. I know I booked in May last year for Airtran, but they had already been out.

This past year I got my $79 October flights for Airtran in August (out of Philly).

We're heading down Oct 8-21 and I'm also interested in finding a good deal on airfare. This will be our first time flying out of the US.... we did YYZ the last time but we can save so much more by flying from Buffalo.

IS Southwest the only airline that does Direct flights? Are they fairly 'safe' to book with?

We need a direct flight b/c this will be my fil's first flight and if he gets off the plane to make a switch and decides he doesn't like flying he won't get back on.... he's worse then a child!!

thanks for the info. on Air Tran....ive been checking their site every couple of days....waiting for Sept. flight info. ! :hyper:

I believe SW has 2 direct flights/day, one first thing in the morning (7am) and one in the evening.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'safe'?

We flew SW last Oct and booked mid-July or so, got the $49 each way.

rkandmjsmommy,

We're also flying out of PHL 10/14 thru 10/20. I'm waiting on SW though because I have a $240 credit I need to use. So, I'll be checking on a daily basis by the end of March so I don't miss the release date. For our December trip I booked one ways because they only released halfway through our week and then I had to wait almost another month to book the return.

BitsnBearsMom,

If you mean "safe" as in financially sound......I think with SW you'll be OK.
I think they're one of the last few airlines that are OK financially....however, I think even they got hit pretty hard the past few months with costs escalating.

Thanks,
By 'safe' that is what I meant!

don't want to book tickets to have the airline go belly up on us!

SW is one of the only US airlines that is actually making money these days. You should be fine.

:wave2:

I joining this thread for I also am looking at flying SW for October 20th!

I figure that SW should open up sometime in May.

Thanks!

janet

BTW, SW they care. AC could take lessons from them!

Hi everyone; I am jumping in also. We are looking at a decent airfare out of central PA (Williamsport) to MCO for Oct 13-21, 06; going on DCL cruise.

Since there will be 2 adults and 4 children (2-11 years) and Williamsport is only 30 minutes from home it would be much easier than driving to Philadelphia four hours to catch an early morning flight and then home again after a very long day. I believe your get off the ship very early the day of departure.

US Air has a commuter flight out of Williamsport to Phil then Orlando. Right now the price is $289 a person. Does anyone think this a good price or should I keep watching.

Another plus for US Air is assigned seating at the time of booking.

Thanks. Diana :thumbsup2

Last October my family of 4 (2 Adults, 2 Children 8,10) went to Orlando for $360 including taxes. We flew out of Chicago on Southwest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was a Ding fare - Let's hope they offer this again. I think we booked around May or June, and rebooked closer to the date when a ding became available. Good Luck. :wave2: :wave2: :wave2: :yay: :yay: :yay:
