October 7, 2007 Wonder

Hi all.

Yes, I think we decided the meet is 3 p.m. at the Mickey Pool. Whee!

My husband will definitely be "all out" with his pirate costume - and I am sure a lot of other people will be too. Even if it is only 10% of the guests, it is a huge amount of fun to dress up and see people in costume. Luckily DH and I dressed as pirates last year for Halloween, so we've got the outfits all set.

I just finished making Mickey head tye dye t-shirts, using the instructions on the DIS thread. Can't believe how excited I am about everything!

I'm getting really Excited to go see mickey Again

Hello!
It's getting close! HOw many folks are dressing as pirates?

pirate:

My family is dressing up as pirates. I have been keeping an eye out for anything that could be transformed into pirate clothing. I have my friends and my sister looking at yard sales and thrift shops for anything interesting. A friend found a great white ruffled swashbuckler shirt at the Army thrift store. It looks great on my DS11. Still looking for the belts, swords, and earrings for everyone. I'm leaning toward the wench look, but I may go pirate instead.

We are all dressing up -- DH as a pirate, my girls as pirates (one Elizabeth Swann style) and me as a wench. Should be lots of fun!

We are dressing up too. DGS has a Jack Sparrow costume complete with the wig attached to the hat. He looks so funny with black hair since he is blonde and fair. The women have vests and ruffly shirts. The men have pirate T shirts--we thought that was about all we could get out of them.
42 more days!!!

Anyone in this group planning on going to MNSSHP? We are going on 10/12, Friday night. We went last year and it was the highlight of our trip, so I definitely wanted to include it for this year. I can't wait! The parade and fireworks are spectacular, and you can generally get on the rides with very little wait.

One unfortunate thing I read recently - I think Big Thunder Railroad is going to be closed during our visit in October. I'm rather unhappy about it, as it is my favorite ride in the Magic Kingdom. But I think all the good food on the cruise will have lulled me into a state of lasting happiness by the time we hit MK, so it should be all right!

DH and I are going to MNSSHP OCt. 4 (our annv) and Oct. 11. WE are hoping to get dressed as pirates for Pirate night on boat

We did the big pirate dress up thing on the last cruise and I decided this time that it was going to take up too much room in the luggage. My DD and I decided to getting matching pirate shirts this year, so that's the way we're going to go! Can't wait!

Yeah, I'm trying to convince my kids to go easy on the costumes for MNSSHP, since we are also packing pirate costumes (which aren't really comfortable for a long afternoon/evening in the park). I'm thinking leis and flowers for their hair - keep it cool and light.

We are going to MNSSHP on Thursday, Oct. 11th. Really looking forward to it.

Welcome staciet--this is our first Disney cruise too. Meet us at the Mickey pool at 3:00. We will have DGS5 with us. Hopefully meeting these other kids his age will help him feel more at ease about going to the Oceaneers Club. I need to pick up some lime green Mickey head paint chips at Home Depot to put on my beach bag, so I can identify myself as a Diser.

Hi StacieT - Our DGD is also 5 - nice to know there will be other children her age aboard. We look forward to meeting you and your family - as Connorsgram said - Meet us at the Mickey Pool at 3:00 PM. Getting closer to sail time :dance3:

Hi Stacie! My DD9 will be excited to meet yours (and my DD8 as well). She seems to think that if she doesn't meet someone of exactly the same age, she won't have fun.

Are you interested in having the kids e-mail each other to become pen pals before the cruise starts? They should all have plenty to say this time of year about school starting. If so pm me and I'll give you my e-mail.

I have another question....If you eat dinner at Palo when/where do the kids eat? Do they feed them in the kids club, or do you get them food ahead of time? Which night(s) do you not want to miss your family dinner?

You can PM us too! It's DD 10 and myself on this trip... She loves to meet kids from everywhere. I bet she'll have a dozen email addresses by the time we disembark!!!

LIME GREEN Mickey Paint chips??? Can someone PLEASE fill me in on that one??? I'm sort of new here, but I gotta tell you, it's a LOT of fun!

Home Depot has lime green Mickey head paint chips. Disers use them to identify themselves. Grab some and put them on you luggage, beach bag, stateroom door, etc.
We've decided to go to Palo for brunch so we won't miss any of the dinners. I've read on Disboards that brunch is wonderful! I think they will feed the children in Oceaneers Club--believe I've read that somewhere. You can make your reservations now, so don't wait too long and miss your chance to go.
