**@@** October 6th, 2007 Magic**@@**

:dance3: i don't know how i'm going to keep my cool. i have so much to do. everything seeemed to be so easy before, now it's geting closer to the wire and i'm falling further behind. i messed up sewing, had to tear out what i just sewed, but i don't think it will take much longer. :confused3 i 'm trying to get cleaning done, ( i'm not miss susie homemaker,) i 'm kind of slack, especially since i retired, there's always tomorrow. now i want things in shape before i leave, and i have clothes spread out, and mending, and sewing projects started. oh well, nose to the grindstone, i can do it i missed the chat room. :rolleyes1 :yay: :yay: at least we have our docs and whatever, i'm going.:woohoo: mini reunion coming up. i get to meet all these gabby people that sound so nice and full of fun grouphug: :cheer2: don't take that wrong, i've learned a lot on this forum, and enjoyed all the talk going on. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Well, no docs :confused3 but I have 11 coordinated outfits laid out - (All of you who know me doubted I could do it in a weekend - but I did it)!!! I have Disney pins to trade and air/car reservatons printed out. I thik I am set until I actually put everything into a suitcase!

DOCS NEED TO COME!!!
I feel like the Mervyn's commercial - open, open, open.... except I am waiting waiting waiting....

I am an over planner. I spend every day for years planning every detail just right. I have not planned anything for this trip. I am starting to worry that I should have planned excursions and such, but I really didn't feel like planning it this time. For instance, I didn't plan a beach excursion because I hate getting sandy, but last cruise, our best port stop was a beach. So I didn't plan. I couldn't bring myself to write down the name of a beach - SAND - AAAGHHH yet I could not skip it since I know it will be loved (OH - I love Castaway Cay - that is a different feeling all together!) so I planned nothing! Now I have no itinerary and it doesn't feel right. You all could post yours so I have some idea (I know you researched and planned for years like I do so I can trust your judgement) and I could quickly write down some - could do's. LOL
Well I guess maybe we can rent an electric car in Key West and do the Turlte thing in GC and a beach in Coz. We will see.

Hey, did anybody decide the kids need shots at these ports? I never called the Doc. to find out for sure.

Well, enough rambling for now - I will keep watching out the window for the big brown truck to bring the cruise docs.

Our group just grew by two.

My mom and her husband just booked on our sailing last night and will be joining us. They are 6626 if you want to add them. GaGa & Mr Fred

Hey everyone.

Went to Liberty Travel and picked up the docs today. Glad we realized that DH was scheduled to be at a different dinner seating than us girls. One call later and that was straightened out. (We are all on second seating)

I'm trying to keep up with these boards... .what's with the buttons I keep reading about? And the door magnets... that is such a great idea. I guess we can just go to Staples/Office Max and get them?

Does anyone have security issues about posting their names on their door?

Lastly, we are in a category 6. I read somewhere about going on a cabin tour... if you still need a cat. 6, let me know! How can we hop on the tour?

Thanks,
Sophia

GaGa and Mr. Fred, :welcome: Mu guess is you're close to the age of Nanatink and me and rdy2bpamperedmom if you're TexasGirl's mom. There are several of use with various ages of grown kids so we not all younguns.

TexasGirl, pass on the greetings please.

Been really busy with work and a "day trip" yesterday to take my mom to cousin's MBA graduation.

Prayers and pixie dust for DDIL please. Her grandfather suffered a stroke and isn't expected to live. To quote her mom, "he has one foot in heaven and the other still on earth and just hasn't quite moved the other foot yet." He will "go home" from the hospital when he goes home to be with Jesus. Not sure any of us are ever ready to say bye to our loved ones.

Everyone, give your kids, parents, and everyone else a HUGE HUG and tell them how much you love them. Life isn't guaranteed so appreciate your loved ones while they're here.

Don't get me started on weather or I'll probably scare everyone to death! I'm already looking at the flhurricane site keeping track of the waves coming off the African coast. There is a good one coming off now. I'll try to drive myself crazy in private
Selket, PM me if you don't want to scare the rest. I follow the tropical weather religiously since it has such a direct affect on my DD and DSIL.

No worries about TS Karen, that one looks to recurve out of our way. So far, so good. But I'm planning to have a ball even IF the weather intervenes.

Actually I'm feeling more comfortable about the chances of actually getting to go on the Western than I did several weeks ago. The pattern seems to have changed somewhat with the storms hooking up into the Atlantic rather than barrelling across the Caribbean towards Grand Cayman and the Yucatan.

We should have a pretty good idea what's in store by the weekend.

The First post of this thread (also in my Siggy) contains all the info for cabin tours and buttons.

I used the magnetic paper from Office max, but you can use cardstock and magnet tape. The paper cost more but it seemed faster to me rofl. Check out this fourm for ideas... http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=105

I think we do need a Cat 6 for the tour... Please read the first post and let me know if the timing works. I also need your families info for the master list :-)

I know some folks are getting buttons - I really should but haven't - my bad.

But I was wondering if anyone is planning to print out some name tags for the DisMeet - I was thinking of Dis-names and Real-names such as

CM_MOM - Reine
CM_MOM -(DH) Paul

Anyone doing anything like this. Sorry Laura, but I can't remember what all you had planned.

About the security of putting our names on our doors. It's pretty much up to you how much you put on your door sign. Some folks put lots of info and some only put a little. I think everyone should put what they're comfortable with.

i think first names are fine. Heck anyone within 20 feet of my family will hear us at one point call out the kids names. I would not put last names or home town.

I have to run to Office max tomorrow, so I can pick up name tags for the meet...

I thought about name tags too. But some buttons will have names on them if anyone chose the ones you can modify. We did, so won't need name tags...
Got luggage ready to pack...still haven't got the clothes ready to go into them tho. Trying to get that done this weekend. DS has 15th birthday tomorrow and party Saturday or Sunday(-yes, still trying to coordinate that one!) so weekend is pretty busy too.
Good news on one thing. I got contacts...now I can snorkel and sea trek and SEA(ha ha) were I am going! :lmao: :lmao: Glasses just don't fit into those little masks! I am blind as a bat without my glasses so I had to do something. NOW, I have to go shopping...need sunglasses ya know! :cool2:
Gonna get supplies to print out door magnet..did I leave too much to do these final days?..prolly. Remember I am the procrastinators' procrastionator...you should all strive to be as good(bad) as I am..makes life so interesting! Course my heart sure speeds up when I am late..only exercise I get! :yay: hmmm.. wonder how much I can do Thursday next week...I am off all day...sleep til noon...pack til two...yeah, I can fit more in..:lmao: :lmao:

Oh my - how time flies! We finally received our last hotel certificate yesterday so now all of our pre- and post- cruise rooms are taken care of!:cool1: I know, I cut it close on ordering them but I had to wait to win more points at work!

We shipped our 2 boxes of "stuff" yesterday - mostly pirate costumes, over the door holders, etc. - so keep your fingers crossed that they will actually arrive in our cabin. I still have not decided if we are going to dress up for the MNSSHP on Thursday night - I am thinking not - maybe just cute t-shirts. Just too much to decide.....:)

I am determined not to overpack but then I get nervous that I am forgetting something so I just throw something extra in and before you know it - my suitcase is exploding! :scared1: We are leaving next Thursday morning so I have got to get busy - but - this whole job thing is really getting in the way!   Well, that and my kids!!

Ya'll have a super day!

  welcome, more oldies, and goodies, convey our greetings to GaGa and Mr. Fred, the more the merrier. we have such a good group going together. :woohoo: what fun it's going to be! the cabin exploring, marguarita tasting, sight seeing, pirate night. mini reunion. wow we are rolling on the wild side, aren't we? :yay: :yay: can't wait, 8 days, just around the corner.:cheer2:

TA called, docs are in, leaving to pick 'em up. Now time really went into fast-forward! 9 days, hooray:banana:
Any last-minute recommendations for a car service FROM the port back to Orlando airport??

:bday: to all. Seems like we have had a lot of birthdays in the last few weeks and days to come. What a wonderful way to celebrate with a cruise.

What is everyone doing that are seniors in Cozumel? I have told my husband if it is as hot as it was last year at the same time, We stay on the ship. I'm from the south. It's was worse than Animal Kingdom in the summer time. HOT. HOT. HOT. Bring water and keep hydrated.

Don't fortget to bring your bug repellant. Put it on before you leave the ship. No see ums even attacked me in the shopping mall area. I'm a mosquito magnetic, anyway.

Counting down for the magic to begin :wizard: , but hey it already has begun. Look at all the friends we have already made. :boat:

DGM (86) and DM(63) are going with us to Chankanaab. You wanna go too? Not sure how long they will stay since you say it will be hot. DGM can't handle too much and will be using a wheelchair..with the sand ones if she makes it that far. And...as you, she may decide to just stay on the ship.
We have not scheduled anything permanently for her except for the glass bottom boat at Castaway Cay.
Even in October it is that hot? WOW,,I decided on October because I thought the weather should be milder..foolish me.

Here's what we'll be doing including DGM & DGD (aka DMIL, DFIL):

Key West: Key West Catamaran Sail & Snorkel Tour 12:30
Grand Cayman: Stingray City Reef Sail & Snorkel 7:45
Cozumel: Discover Snorkel 10:45
Castaway Cay: Seahorse Catamaran Snorkel Adventure 9:30

We'll also be doing the Margaritaville in each of the ports (well 3 of them anyway)

Andy

Yeap, came as a shock to me too last year. I'm hoping for cooler weather this time. I read the average for that time of year. It was on the high side that day for sure.
My daughter reminded me, Mom look where you are.
We were the first ones off the boat, bad habit of mind, drives my family crazy. We travel with my children alot . This time we split up, because they were somewhere on the ship. We were coming back before noon and we met them. I told my husband they are going to die from the heat. They didn't stay long.
I would love to go the Chank park depending on the temp :rolleyes1. It will be a big :woohoo: in my book if I get to go. I use a wheelchair too, sometimes. The pier at Cozumel is at least 3 to 4 ship lengths long, I haven't decided yet if I would use my wheels or not. Thanks for the invite though.

Yes... HEAT is a factor for sure. I was surprised how hot it can be in the middle of the ocean in Oct! I am hoping for cooler evenings this go around

As always, please check first post to make sure info is correct and complete. Also check for Meet times and such.

The kids and I are doing the Sea Trek at Jennies beach from 11-12 and then planning on going on to Chankanaab from there...but if it is as hot as you say..we may skip the park or at least DGM may...since we don't get in until 9:30 we can't really go to the park before our sea trek.
