**@@** October 6th, 2007 Magic**@@**

As some of you know, my family and I were booked for this cruise but had to cancel because we were having a house built and had to use our cruise money for that. Anyway, I am happy to say that I have recently booked the 09/27/2008 Western Double-Dip!! :cool1: Though, I have to admit that I am extremely jealous of all of you who get to cruise in just a few weeks. Maybe some of you will have such a great time, you will decide to book the Double-Dip while you are on board!:rotfl: Have a great time!!!

 :confused3  Instead of sifting through 60+ pages of posts...can you guys tell em if you guys are planning to do the fish extender thing? If so, do we need to get on a list? and can you tell me what type of goodies you're planning so I have an idea of what to get. Thanks:)

((anc22)) We will have a drink for you! But how cool to do a DOUBLE DIP!! Fun!

eapawsat... Welcome! Hi! I have brought up doing goodies and such for the kids, but not very many people are interested, and to be honest it's prolly more work than I feel like dealing with lol So no fish extenders needed IMO

BUT if you check the first two posts on this thread you will see some of the things we have planned. The Main meet at 3pm in the Promande Lounge, and a margarita tasting on a sea day. There has not been a big responce to the PJ Breakfast on Key West Morning, and just a few people have expressed an interest in the Wine tasting.

If your interested in the Margarita tasting please email me or PM me your names and cabin number, because we are giong to see if Concierge can book it for us even before we get on the ship (shooting for around 2pm Monday, sea day, formal night)

The wine tasting everyone will need to get tickets at guest services once on board. But plans are not really firm on that.

There is also a Cabin tour in the works..... and so far I am suggesting on the first Sea Day before the Margarita tasting, but that is still debatable. My guess is we would need at least 30 mintues but most likey 45 mintues to tour all the cabins...

Again on the first page is a link to our Groups buttons. Pick any of the green/black/white ones. And famiarlize yourself with all of them, but they should be easliy identifible. I got one for each member of my family, and plan on wearing them somewhere daily (either on my shirt or backpack)

I hope that gives you a brief (ha,me brief lol) over view of the past 1000 posts :lmao:

Oh you should get on the list if you would like to be included in Cruise Tag.. I have made a Door sign that we have to try and get to everyone's cabin during the week. I will check my cabin off, put it on another cruiser's door, they sign off, put it on another cruisers door and so on.

Where can we sign up for the Cruise Tag ?????

Any other Canadians on the Oct 6th cruise to the Western Caribbean?

Do you think we can request some turkey for Thanksgiving on Monday the 8th?

I almost got totally busted! Y'all know I've been keeping this cruise a surprise for DH for nearly a year now. The stupid cruise docs came yesterday (:woohoo: ) but I missed the mailman. I checked too soon I guess. My DH comes home and says did you get the UPS off the porch (I got a new UPS guy that never knocks now) I said no. DH goes outside and gets the UPS and then opens the mailbox.  I KNOW! He comes inside with it all and says looks like you got something from the Mouse. Now, we're DVC so sometimes random stuff does just show up but this says DCL on it plain as day. I said, ooo, cool. I've got a few more work things to finish up so I'm going to save it until after as a treat. So I keep working away-- quietly freaking out-- like it's nothing. FINALLY the man goes upstairs to get cleaned up. Open the envelope and pull out the stuff, very happy, :yay: I pull out the stuff that I've been hiding, they sent that when we first booked 100 years ago, and put that overview-ish more general thing the envelope, hide the new stuff in the old stuff hidey hole. He comes downstairs and turns on the football (so thrilled that's started back up again ;) ) and I go in with my "unopened" mail and open it up and start looking through it. I tell him they sent it to us because I was looking into the Western route as we've already done Eastern, just wondering what they had on offer, blah, blah, blah. He says something like that's really nice marketing material to send out for someone who's just looking. No wonder DCL is so expensive. Yeah, it's a wonder, honey, what do you want for dinner? :cutie:

So I think I'm still safe. Hopefully.

My dress is coming along great too. Last week I finished the sleeves and the zipper. (stupid zipper) Darts were tricky too. Now I just really have the hem and a few other things, so I shouldn't be naked on formal night. Which I hear they frown upon on DCL. It is a family ship, ya know!

I can't believe you've been able to keep this to yourself SOOO long!! :worship: What a fabulous surprise for him!

And, wow! You got your docs already?? I wasn't going to start looking for them for another week or so.

UPGRADE TO CAT 9!!!!!!
  :cool1: :cool1:

We had booked a GTY12 and I checked this morning. We are in #2038 which in my Passporter says is a Cat 9 -:cheer2: Yes, I did jump around the kitchen!

This week started off with us having to call 911 for our youngest for a medical emergency (he is doing great btw) and this is a good way to end the week. Maybe I should go buy a lottery ticket just in case this week *could* get even better - LOL!

(ok....don't tell me the room is under the bar or something cause I'm sure it is - I'm just happy to have a window!)

First all WOOT WOOT WOOT you got a WINDOW! How awesome is that! And on Deck two your view of the Ocean will be AWESOME!!!! YAYAY!!!! (hint hint I would love to see your view, maybe you will join in on the stateroom tour?)

Second, in case you didnt look, here is the stateroom reports on the room... http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/cruise-new/roomreport.cfm?Room=2038

It seems some have complained about it being noisy. So plan accordingly. Ear Plugs or a white noise machine, if you think it could be a problem.

But Woot for the View!

And big HUGS to your son, glad to hear he is doing good! ((hugs))

edited to add... here is a link to pictures of a cat 9 on deck two

Thanks for the link to the room reviews - I didn't know about those! Fortunately I always travel with my white noise machine (I'm one of those box fan people but I have the little machine for vacations).

Where are the kid's beds in this type of room? Is the sofa a bed and then one pulls down from the wall near the porthole window? I'm just trying to imagine it.
***edit - I see the edit in your post with the pics so I see the beds are near the window - kids will LOVE that! Heck...how much weight does that top bunk hold - I might want to sleep up there!

Let me go back and read about the stateroom tour thing - would that mean I'd have to clean??;) Put me down as a maybe for that - I think it is a great idea. I've gotten behind in posts and planning with all the stress of my younger one starting kindergarten and the medical issues, etc. I'm going to have to eat at the Pluto hot dog barn every night cause I have like no dressy outfits! I have a lot to get together in the next 3 weeks I think.

We plan to come to the meet on Saturday - I think I read somewhere I was supposed to tell you that. Thanks for all your work Laura!

Well, With your GTY showing your room # I decided to check ours but nothing so far. Do I guess that you just go on Disney's website and look up your reservation? If so ours still says GTY. Bummed...
We also have been dealing with kid issues. We just got home today after being in the hospital overnight with DD. She had tonsil/adnoid surgery. Minor issue. We did have some problems with her oxygen saturation...she just couldn't keep it up. But we are home now and trying to rest...
Well you will have to excuse me now. I am going to get some sleep... DD's machine alarms went off continously until 4am when they finally put her on oxygen to stop the alarms. <sigh> One hour of sleep after all the stress is just not enough. :sad2: I'm so tired...my tired is tired...

So we will continue to watch our GTY and hoping the upgrade fairy decides she likes me... And maybe some documents???? pirate:

Ok listen up everyone! All this sickness and illness MUST STOP NOW! (or at least in time for the cruise!)

Big hugs to everyone who needs it :grouphug:

I guess better to get sick now and get it over with before the cruise right? Build up that immunity!!!

Pixie dust for everyone waiting for upgrades. pixiedust:

Hurray, :cheer2: the wait is almost at an end.
I am so glad to hear that the docs are finally arriving.:yay: I am anxiously awaiting a big brown van in my drive. :worship: No such luck yet! Oh well, after all tomorrow is another day.:sad2: It sure will make things all the more real to hold that DLC ticket in my hand though:earsboy: .

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

The Upgrade Fairy has picked us. Our first cruise ever and we've upgraded from a cat 12 to cat. 9 outide!!!! We've got sunlight!!!! Hope the upgrade fairy visits everyone else tonight.

And we were able to verify our room assignments. No upgrade but we really enjoyed the sideways Cat 11 last time so I'm sure we will this time too. We may check at the port to see about purchasing an upgrade but we'll wait and see.

Congrats to those of you who were upgraded. How wonderful. You will really enjoy the sunlight and the water. The rest of us will just have to hang out on deck.

We will be there with you on deck. :grouphug: I'm only in the cabin to sleep and get ready and then I'm out. :dance3: pixiedust: :tink:

Sorry to those who didn't get upgraded. I wonder if you're more likely to get upgraded if it is your first DCL cruise? Maybe that is why we were. I have a GTY12 booked for next year too and I am expecting to get an 11 (cause there are 4 of us - I think all the 12's only fit 3).

It is great to have a window but frankly I just want to be on the boat! I would be happy with the inside rooms too I think and the sideways Cat 11 sounds interesting. Are there any pics of that around?

So what exactly is in the cruise docs? Everyone talks about them - is it just tickets of some type or ? I did all the stuff online last night. More forms to fill out in the cruise docs?

Well now I'm getting excited! About three weeks!:yay:
