I am posting way to much sorry everyone! Can't help it! I am in major cruise insanity these days!

I wanted to bring up ADULT meets... One of the things DH and I are interested in are the Beer, wine, and Margarita tastings... Anyone interested in doing them?

They are normally on Sea days, not sure about times... I peeked at a few navagators and it look like in the afternoons around 2 ish on Sea days...

Soooooooo anyone want to hook up and do a bit of tasting?

Oh and lets be honest if I can get the kids in the clubs...the beer and wine tastings too. Actually I have spent the summer obsessing about Margarita's - I bought a margaritaville Machine and have spent every weekend testing new recipes!

Laura: I saw a girl at Mickey's Not so Scary last year wearing that. Get the hat, it looked great on her!! I just felt bad for her feet! Imagine, her cute little pirate boots aaaaaaaalllllllll the way through the MK :scared1:

DM and I all all ready for the marguarita tasting - you can definitely vote us in for that one!! I saw they were available Tues and Thurs (sea days) didn't look at the times tho.--If we like it so much- MAY do it twice!!!
Then again -- maybe not. We'll see. Only thing we have reserved on board is Palo dinner on Key West night ... wanted brunch but my original reservation for some reason didn't stick.. I was so upset when I went back to check and it wasn't there. I stayed up until midnight to put those ressies in and was so happy that I got the Thurs brunch I wanted. Can you change your ressie onboard? I'd love to switch the dinner to a brunch.

We aren't interested in the beer or wine- can't stand the stuff! DM and I are both on the same wavelength on those!

Otherwise since we are newbies for cruising- we will let you experienced cruisers initiate the meetings...don't know what all is offered onboard - we are just tagging along for the ride!! :rolleyes1

We bought one of those machines also and have been putting it to some good use this summer. I am so glad we bought it!!! I don't like tequila though so we've made just about every frozen drink except margaritas. We do make virgin margaritas for the kids though. My DH is the mixologist and has whipped up a few great drinks in that machine. Yum!

The list is filling in nicely :-) Even some lurkers posted a second time to be included on it! Come out and play! We dont bite!

Sounds like we have hit a home run with the Margarita Tasting!

lildeb724 rdy2bpampered married2grumpy Laurabearz!

Anyone else?? I forgot to ask today how many per sesson... we might have to all fight over them! :lmao:

I know my DH would like to do the beer tasting and I'm good for that too - and margaritas. This is our first cruise and my 5 year old has some medical issues - he can be independent in the kids club but we will need to check on him often and may need to run at a moment's notice (he is a type 1 diabetic). So I'm cautious about saying I can do something without him! If nothing else my DH and I can take turns (I'll do margaritas and he can do beer!).

I'm also leaving it up to you to figure out the meet places, time and dates as we will do our best to be at them! I don't plan to get up too early but other than that....;) I would love for the kids to be able to meet some other kids.

Anyone with kids into Pokemon let me know...mine love that stuff!

Anyone planning on Tulum? I'd like to find a Tulum buddy. I'm signed up for it along with my son who will be almost 10 yrs old.

Does anyone know what date/time the kids' clubs graduation ceremony is? I booked Palos for Friday night (our best option of what was left) and now I'm afraid it might be during "graduation.":guilty: I'll try to rebook on board if so.

I'm in a GTY12 room too - that is why no room number yet!

Ok I have updated the FIRST post to reflect the various meets we have going on... Please let me know which, if any, you will try and attend, and how many.

And Selket, DCL is very good with kids with Medical issues.

And Selket, DCL is very good with kids with Medical issues.

I am hoping this to be the case. It is one reason I'm paying extra to do DCL - I'm hoping the staff is top notch. He also has a peanut allergy (touch allergic) and they are awesome with him at WDW.

I would do the margarita tasting and my husband (Hal) would be interested in the beer tasting so you could note us for that. Splitting up will hopefully ensure our attendance.

I also want to try out the bingo. I don't play at home but it sounds like fun on the ship!:goodvibes

I was thinking about Bingo myself... Since they let the kids 'play' might be fun... BUT so much to do so little time, it will depend on when it's offered...

Laura -- add my mom Rdy2bpamperedMOM to the marguarita tasting....

We want to do bingo too...a bit pricey but I'd love to play --so hopefully will not add up to too much $$.

What is everyone doing at Key West? We are renting an elec car and just driving around. Would be nice if I cold get the elec car companies to contact me back..sent several emails. Guess I am going to have to resort to the old-fashioned way of communication...a phone call! May hit a couple of museums and of course KEY LIME PIE!! (on a stick!)

Key West seems a bit pricey- don't know what I expect- it's a tourist trap...and we are going to be tourists!:hippie:

So who all will be wearing lime green when we arrive at the ship? And are we just buying the buttons we like instead of choosing one single one? They do all have the same info (pretty much). Whats the vote?

What are the electric cars like - any websites? I thought we might do the trolley thing on our own where you can get on and off as much as you want (not through DCL).

I wonder if Dean will impact Cozumel? I heard last night that it could head towards there and it mentioned the destruction from a few years ago by Wilma.

I think we'll have out lime green T-****'s on. As for Key West, we're headed out on one of the snorkel tours, and the obligatory trip to Parrot Head Central.

Here's one of the sites for the cars: http://www.floridakeyswatersports.com/

Ye- I am a bit worried about hurricanes too. They are claiming this is an above average year for hurricanes..but also said that hurricane Andrew happened during a lower than average season...so I think we just have to go with the flow and try not to worry about it... honestly, not much we can do but make ourselves miserable about it. Remember, change the things you can and not worry about those you can't. Just make sure you have insurance that will cover any problems and above all... be calm. :3dglasses

We were on a Disney Cruise Labor Day week, (year of Katrina), my husband was a nervous annie, they were waiting for one to come into Port Canaveral and were just going to detour us. It wasn't bad, but the boat did do some rocking, the water never bothers me, but that year I was waiting in line with everyone else to get the pressure point wristbands for sea sickness. I didn't have insurance that year, but I sure do this year.

Florida Key Watersports will not come to the dock to pick you up and they are about 2 miles (or so) from the pier... I just called them lol

Bluesky rentals http://keywestblueskyrentals.com/ WILL come and pick you up from the dock. He said to just call as soon as we step off the ship... I resereved a 6 seater and he said for 3 hours it would be 130 bucks. (and a 4 seater for 3 hours was $100)

I started a thread on the main board asking some electric car questions, the biggest I have is PARKING! :thumbsup2 :lmao:

As far as What Key West is Like... I went there 2 years ago on a girls trip and had a BLAST!! BUT if you have a child who can read.... steer clear of DUVALL Street.. The tee shirts hanging in the windows are way to funny (crude and lude) for kids to be reading....

We want to hit the Southern most point and maybe the aquarium.

As far as buttons go.... I think any of the Green/black/white ones would work. We all know what they all look like... they stand out... So if everyone prefers we can each just order the ones we like the best out of that group, or I could do an official vote....

thoughts...

Also about Hurricanes... I AM NOT WORRIED! lol BUT I have looked at different things to do on the Eastren ports in case the ship changes it's itinerary...
