**@@** October 6th, 2007 Magic**@@**

I have completed my door magnet-- thank goodness I am NOT having Zazzle produce it!! I am printing this one out myself!

Of course I don't have all my info yet so I will have to finish it after we get our docs...which by the way ... they are coming in a little more than a month! Can you believe it!!???? :cool1: :thumbsup2

Anyway, this is my design...

I may put a few little ones around on the door just because - you know-- we can't have all that white space showing!! :rotfl2: I haven't thought about those yet. Plenty of time... !

Hi all, I haven't read all the 50 pages yet just wanted to mention that I decided this week-end I'm doing Disney cruise, and now I am booked, I'm not sure what the DW DH DS DD but anyway here hoes..

Me I guess that DH but don't know what the D is for 35
DW 37
DD 7
DD6

going in cabin 7584 YAY !!!

Does anyone know if other languages then english are used on board for the kids, cause mine speak mostly French Canadian, I little english but if they had some french they would be really happy on board...

Also I hope I got a good rate on this Balcony cabin, its my first disney cruise, my 8th over all!!

Any how going to go read up a little, and can't wait to be onboard !!

MAdJoker

:grouphug: :grouphug: WELCOME :grouphug: :grouphug:
We always need more people!!!

And I think the D stands for 'Dear' - but don't quote me on that!!
So its Dear husband, dear wife, dear son, dear daughter, etc. But you know I could be way off on that... It's just how I think of them when I read them.

Welcome Joker!!

And DH is either Dear Husband or Dumbo/Darn Husband depending on the day :lmao:

Ok have a question for everyone with kids....

Anyone interested in doing a swap... One or Two familes (depending on how many are interested) are responsible for little trinkets for one day of the cruise... So for example I could make up a little goodie bags for each kid for the embark day.. Someone else for Key went day.. another for pirate.. each sort of themed for the night... Oriental trading has things for every theme and cheap too.

Now there is some comimitment involoved in this... creating the goodie bags(and getting them there), then taking time out one day while on the ship to go around and pass them out, which could take a while... lol SO think long and hard as to wether you want to particapate. It is really fun for the kids... never knowing what they might come back too.... and a fun way to bond even more :-)

Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo anyone interested??

And I had a thought on the pins... Since all of rdy2bpampered's pins are along the same lines... We could in theroy just buy the one we like the most, and we all still would be able to recognize them... THoguhts?? I wonder what the lead time is on them... hmmmm

I just posted on the main Cruise board asking about French speaking Cast members in the kids clubs... give it a few days and see what comes up..

The thread is HERE

OH NO!!! I got it BAD!! I have just made a note on which days DH has to shave..... sad isnt it...:dance3:

Where do the bags get left? I've heard of those "fish" things people hang by their doors. I might be interested in doing this unless I need to bring more bags than I could carry down. Do folks usually put food/candy in the bags with the trinkets?

So we could just order those zazzle buttons - whichever we like?

THIS IS MY 9000 POST here on the DIS. So I am making it a looooooooooong one :thumbsup2

I would hold off ordering the Buttons for a bit... let's see what else Rdytobpmperd comes up with....

As for the goodie bags... I think hanging them from the door knob might work... Or just hanging them off the fish extender itself.. It would be just one set of goodie bags a day... so not like a million things need to be held.... But if everyone seems to think this is too much of a pain, we can skip it. It is a big comimitment.

I also have come up with a fun game... MAGNET TAG! I will make a large magnet with a pen on it, that we will try and get to every DISer's room over the week. I will place it on someone's door, they sign in, then they put it on ANOTHER DISer's door and so on... Then once home I will copy it as a .gif, and send it out for everyone to copy for their photo albums! (how fun is that!)

ILLUMINTATIONS CRUISE!!! I still have the extra cruise for the night of the 5th.. I know one family was interested in it (sorry forgot exactly who), but needed to share with someone else... Just bringing it up again to see if there are more takers....

ALSO I know I am behind in add the new people to the main list... So So Sorry about that... Last week I was at Girl Scout Day Camp and this week I am at Girl Scout Day Camp, and it's sucking all the energy out of me!! lol In fact we are about to walk out the door to buy a TENT! Not sure it will ever be used anywhere but our back yard, but I am embracing this whole camping thing... for now at least haha

I now know what I will wear for Formal night, Palo Bruch and Semi Formal night, head to toe... shoes are always an issue for me.. I have short W I D E feet. Thankfully my three kids helped me go from a 6 triple w i d e to a 7 double wide, but my darn instep is still freakishly high it isn't funny :lmao: I often dress from the shoe up  Anyway all my other clothes will fall into place, since I got the biggie's taken care of :-)

Ok ok we are out the door to buy a tent... and an air mattress, and a lantern, and other related junk so we can spend ONE night in our back yard. - sigh - the things we do for our kids. :dance3:

You mean I have to make more buttons!!??? Man, you people are demanding!!! and needy,... Well, OK you twisted my arm.. :surfweb: I will make some more and try to get some different styles to help make your choice so much easier.. !! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao: :goodvibes I will need something to do in the next few weeks anyway since I be off work.

Good morning everyone! Now that we are almost at the 2 month mark, I would really like to have the kids start getting to know each other better. With our last cruise, my kids corresponded via my e-mail address with some friends and it worked out great! It was really nice for them to already know some of the kids when they entered the kids clubs.

So if you have any children who will be in the same age group as my kids and they would like to start getting to know each other better, just PM me.

My kids: DD 10, DS 8, DD 7 - All ages are at time of cruise.

Now I am off to the WISH board to try to motivate me to lose 20 pounds before this cruise!

There is a kids chat for this cruise here at http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1331026

Is there another board too?

My sons will be 5 and 9 (but a few weeks shy of being 10 - he'll be in 5th grade). My 9 year old hasn't decided if he wants to be in the 8/9 or 10-12 year old group yet - he plans to figure that out on the ship.

Our DD Sarah is 6 (on the left), and her DC Evelyn is 8 (on the right). Here pictured with DW Susan (middle).

There is no other board that I know of. The kids chat is confusing for my kids. The e-mails worked well for them last time. We tried the kids chat but haven't gotten too many responses and I would like them to just chat with kids from their own age group.

We tried bumping our DS who was 7 at the time to the 8-9 to be with his older sister who was 8 at the time. It didn't work out for him and we moved him back down to the 5-7 with his younger sister who was 5. The counselors were great about letting him try out the older group.

The kids Chat mentioned above, is NOT a chat, but a thread like this one but just for the kids to post on.... I did create a private board for the kids, but that never caught on... so the kids have been using the thread linked above... although I will admit my kids have not even read that thread yet... But soon, after camp is over, I will show them the thread and they can start posting...

Hi, my daughter would be very interested in emailing your 10 year old daughter, my daughter is 11. I haven't posted on the dis boards but just a few times so it will not allow me to pm you. Please pm me and we can exchange their email addresses.

Thank you
Tammy

I am still trying to decide whether to spend the night before the cruise in Port C. or at WDW. There is a MNSSHP that friday night - I've never gotten to go to one of those. On the other hand it would be nice just to focus on the cruise and not be tired out from staying up so late. Decisions, Decisions!

If anyone's 8-11ish year old kids are completely consumed by Pokemon (especially the new Diamond/Pearl DS game or the Wii Battle Revolution game) I'm sure my 9 year old (will be a 5th grader) son would especially enjoy talking to them (perhaps doing some online trading and battles). That is his big interest at the moment. Feel free to PM me and they can trade info.

My First Cruise ever was a 3 day DCL Wonder cruise and then the very next weekend I went on my second cruise ever on the Carnvial's Fascination....

I had a great time on both cruises (DCL with DH and the Kids and Fascination with my gal pals) What I did not like about the Carnival cruise was having to eat in the same resturant every night lol It really bothered me... I LOVE ROTATIONAL DINNING!!! LOVE IT.

Also on the Fascination not all the evalators go to all floors... so say you wanted to get to deck 8... only the forward and aft elevators go to deck 8... it was a pain (esp after I broke my toe on day 2 of the 4 day cruise and needed the elevators!)

Both the Magic and the Wonder are just lovely ships... and small by industry standards... but very nicely appointed in the art deco style. Classy.

I found both the staff on Carnival and DCL to be wonderful, but I would give DCL the edge. Plus.. I am a firm beleiver in getting what you give.. so if your all happy and smiles, so are they :-) And if something goes wrong, I find complaining nicely is better than complaining loudly. haha

Selket My boy is 4 and thank goodness we are not in the pokemon stage yet... for him. it's all about transformers (more than meet the eye) :lmao:

Hey I did the fascination back in 1998 !! I loved that cruised. Well it was my first , so the first one is always one of the best !! We had done southern Caribbean from san Juan...

Now Ok , I guess i'm a noob with Disney, whats Rotational Dinning ??

Rotational dining.... put simply... each night you eat in a differently themed dinning room... Animator's Palate (A), Luminaires(L), or Parrot Cay(P). Each place has it's own charm. Your table mates, if you have any, as well as your serving staff, will follow you each night, so you still have the same servers for the duration.

Disney staggers times for both early and late dining... Once you have your assigned time (which you find out when you get your Key to the World Card (kttw) it stays that time for the duration (like if you have APL early seating you will dine each night at 530pm in the resutruant of the night.

What are the possible Dining Rotation times based on recent cruises?
7 day cruise
APL 5:30 and 8:00
PLA 5:45 and 8:15
LAP 6:00 and 8:30

I KNOW it sounds confusing, but it really isnt... And it's really great to have a change of scenery, even while dinning.
