Boy would I feel stupid getting up at 3 a.m. the wrong day!

Is it really necessary to book immediately at 3 a.m.? Don't worry, I am obsessed enough to do it...just wondering if we do it because it is necessary or because we are Disney freaks!

Well Bella... I could book at the 105 day window and I was up until 2 am to do so, and I really didnt need to be, but I have waited soooooooooooooo long to book my excruisions, I stayed up

I feel like I'm just shooting in the dark anyway with the Palo thing - because of my son's medical condition I can't let him eat in the kids club so we'd have feed him before going to dinner ourselves. I wonder what happens to dinner if you get called away?

I'll just try to book one and then cancel before the time's up to do that if I decide it might not work. Being a first time cruiser it is all new to me anyway!

Carol... I would try for one later in the week or perhaps brunch on the second sea day... By then you should know if it's doable, and you really can cancle last minute if you need too.

Well.......

The message did indeed change at midnight - from telling me I was more than 75 days out to now telling me that my cruise isn't paid in full.

I used Dreams Unlimited and paid in full last Thursday and they told me that I could do my bookings Monday. I was told that was enough lead time to allow me to book things at 75 days.

I am REALLY po'd right now. I knew I should have booked directly with DCL!

Hey, I love Harry Potter too! I pre-ordered my book and it came at 1pm... one sad...sad...thing tho. I started reading it at 1pm and had it finished by 9pm!!! It was way too short!! I am heartbroken that it is over...<sigh>

On a cruise note... I went on at 12:30 am to see if we could make ressies-- and lo and behold! I could ...and I did!! Course we aren't doing too much through Disney..so these ressies weren't going to be that extensive.... luck to all in getting what you want...

Does this mean we're legal??

I know I am behind on getting them all together... well that's not true, I want to tweek mine and have not had the time :-( But I do have three buttons up on Zazzle that are not done.. more like the gist of the buttons... I went for the humor route. I suck at graffics, what can I say.

ok, FINALLY decided to post!
Found DIS boards while doing research on our first DCL cruise 10/06/07 on Magic, and have lurked until now. So, figured I should say "Hi", and "C ya real soon", since were now only 74 days 21 hours 12 minutes away.
Myself and SO are aboard for our 30th anniversary. What a nail-biter trying for Palo reservations for the actual anniversary date, 10/08. Now, just have to beg for a rotation so that we don't miss Animator's that night! In retrospect, realize I should've just taken the Romance package which pays the Palo fee, AND would've given me the 105 day window. Oh well, this won't be our last, I'm sure.

We're seasoned WDW vets - first trip there was a month after opening, and has been at least once a year since, most years more than one visit. BUT, we're newbies to DCL, so thanks for all the info I've gotten from y'all as I lurked. Even though our kids are grown, I love seeing the posts from all the folks excited to be bringing their young'uns. We always enjoyed sharing the World with ours as they grew up, especially when they marched on Main Street during their high school marching band days, and when they were old enough to join us on the behind-the scenes tours.
The cruise? Just us, hooray!!

Selket-That happened to me last night at midnight exactly! I was mad and tried to go back to bed completely disappointed. I called to confirm direct with DCL on Friday and they said it looked like we were good to go. I woke up 10 minutes before my alarm went off this morning---and I got in!!! So try, try again! Maybe we were both impatient last night when we first got that message.

I got dinner and brunch booked and some hours at Flounder's Reef...here are my questions for those seasoned cruisers...

1. For brunch, it only let me book a group of 3-4. Just to get a booking, I went ahead and booked us with my ILs. I don't know that they even want to go! But is this right? Parties of 2 cannot reserve brunch?

2. During brunch, I could only get Flounder's Reef starting at the exact same time. Will this be a major problem? Can some of us show up at Palo at our brunch time and another come right after they get DD checked in a FR?

3. I booked Palo dinner for Tuesday night because it just seemed to work best for us. Then, when I glanced at the PNs this morning, I saw that that is the night of Pirate night! I thought, according to Passporter's and other things I have looked at, that Pirate night is Wednesday night. If this is the case, I might change it because I wanted DD to experience Pirate night if she can stay up late enough.

I think that's all for now...Any input is appreciated! We are on our way!!!!

Pirate night is Weds!!!! It's NOT Tuesday...... UNLESS... the captain decides to spend longer in Cozumel.. So you should be good.

Also Once on board, you can tweek your Flounder's ressie a bit and add hours. They are very good if you have Palo or something like that, so no worries...

I would also wait until I got on board to tweek the Palo brunch.


Oh oh oh and that's great news about you being able to book... I hope Selkit can too!

Well it let me in this morning! All that was left for Palo was dinner and I picked the last night (vs the 2nd night). I think that I won't know the routine well enough and my younger son might need more time to get used to the kids club so I picked the late in the week one. I needed an early Palo time so I hope they don't take the kids who are in the kids club to dinner if they have already eaten! He is a type 1 diabetic and touch allergic to peanuts so I don't want him dealing with food at all since he is just 5.

I guess worst case we just won't eat at Palo's and I won't be heartbroken I suppose! All the Wed night ones were open - guess everyone thinks that is Pirate night and they don't want to eat there!

I was still trying at 12:30 a.m. last night (eastern time) so I don't know what changed for me - I kept logging in again, etc. Boy was that frustrating!

I booked the Tulum excursion for myself and my older son (who will be almost 10). I'm most excited for that!

And I guess the biggest relief is that DCL does have my payment - whew! I wonder why some of us got that "not paid" message for awhile? Just those of us who used travel agents? That doesn't make sense but....?

I was able to log in at 11:00 CST to make ressies. I booked a Palo brunch, but the only time I could get was at 11:00 Sunday. I didn't really want it to be that late on Key West day, but maybe I can change it when we get onboard.

I also booked the Island tour and butterfly consv. for Grand Cayman and the Sting Ray's at CC.

I hope everyone elese is able to get what they wanted. Good luck to everybody.

I noticed that two of my button designs were missing... I must have removed them by accident. I replaced them now - I have a total of 6 designs out there.. remember we can take any persons designs and merge the things we like into one different button .. We don't have to choose one of these we have designed as a whole.. If we want to tweek - I would be more than glad to do the designing!! Like to help!

So glad to have reservations made and be able to do more than just LOOK at the Disney site... Felt Good!

Can everything really be booked already? Or is the system just down?

I still had 1.5 hours I could book the nursery and now when I click to book it, no date options come up at all to even search but it did not have a message that it was full. The Palo reservation page said there were no avaiable reservations and I didn't even get to choose which meal (dinner, brunch, high tea). Spa did not come up and now I am trying for the excursions (just to see if anything comes up!).

Also, MIL and SIL both had trouble pulling up their reservation at all. They both use iMacs. Could this be the reason? It seems Disney would be up to date with all technology, especially for making reservations and making money! If it is not the reason, maybe it is just another glitch??? Has anyone else with a Mac had this problem? They are both coming over tonight to see if they can still book everything.

If everything is already booked solid, boy am I glad I got on this morning!

OK with the excursion page I got the message that they are experiencing high volumes of activity right now so that must be what is going on. I will just have to keep trying to get in for the nursery booking.

I logged on to check it out (I have a PC) and I could tell there are still Palo dinner ressies available but not brunch or high tea. I don't have access to Flounders as my kids are older.

The DCL site was having trouble this morning - I tried doing some of the cruise documentation and got error messages. Hopefully they made it in.

After much deliberation and poring over finances and prayer we just decided about an hour ago that we are GOING!!!!!! All Seasons said we had to either pay or cancel by 9 pm tonight and we PAID at about 8 pm and we are going!!!! Happy Dance! All through last week and over the weekend it looked like we were canceling. I am sooooooooooooo excited and thankful.

DS who is 2 will be old enough to enjoy it this year...his favorite tv show is Mickey Mouse Club house and he is always asking about Muck Muck Mouse and Goovy. (Mickey Mouse and Goofy of course) He will love it. Plus, this will likely be the last trip for DD (7) where it is "real."

I am so happy!!!! I just went online and it is showing us paid. I registerd the kids in Flounders and in Club. I haven't been able to book Palo or Flounders yet...system keeps timing out saying it is busy. Will keep trying.

Did I mention I am thankful and HAPPY??
