**@@** October 6th, 2007 Magic**@@**

Hi fellow cruisers! I have been waiting to introduce myself and family until I was pretty sure we were going. Well, I made the final payment last week and booked my onboard reservations this morning so I guess it's official!:woohoo:

On this trip will be me, Shannon 35, DH Pete 35, and DS Sam 4. We are staying in a cat 9 stateroom 2574.

I'm looking forward to getting to know you all!

Shannon

Hi to Shannon! Welcome to the DIS madness!:)

Wanted to let you know that we have a DS4 - Cole! Are you going to sign Sam up for the clubs? We did sign Cole up and he is very exicted - of course he has 2 older sisters that I have told him what a good time he will have!;)

Have you guys ever cruised DCL before?

  glad to have u aboard, our group is growing, lots of fun ahead.u r the oppisite of me, i'm telling friends and anyone that's interested that i,m going on a cruise, and u were cautious and didn't even post till things were all set.:lmao: :lmao: it makes it more real for me to talk about it, i'm a procrastinator. but if i say i'll do something to someone, then i'm a person that has to carry thru. see, that's why i talk about it to others. then it has to happen.:rotfl2: anyway, we have a lot to look forward to, is this your first time too? i'm really thrilled to think of broadening my horizons to include a cruise. i've been a land lubber all my life. seen a lot of that, off and on tho.:dance3: welcome to the group, and keep on posting:grouphug:

:confused3 sorry i asked, didn't read the last of your message, u r a seasoned traveler on the ocean.:rolleyes1 oh, well no wonder u didn't rush to post, this is old hat for u. still fun tho, or u wouldn't do it over again. :flower3

Hello everyone,
Its been a while since I've posted. We got our info books and there wasn't really anything I didn't already know! Except...kids cannot go in the pools unless they are 100% potty trained...anyone have any info on the splash areas? Are they good? My 2 year old(2 1/2) by cruise time will be upset if she can't go swimming if she's not 100% trained. Because of this, we are working harder on it this summer! HELP!!!!

Also, I have a friend who sells some wonderful labeling products the company is stuckonyou .biz and my friends name is Jodi Cassidy, she's the sales agent.
Check out the site, they have vinyl labels that are dishwasher safe, you can label your lotions and pool toys...everything! They have shoe labels, clothing labels! (I bought clothing labels that say "The Rodich Girls" this way either of my kids can use them and our last name is so unique!) You name it, the one thing we are getting for our kids are the wristbands. They can wear them, with a place for you to write info so if they get lost, they know who the kids belong too!:

I get absolutly nothing from her, but they are wonderful products they may help keep the lost and found down!

Any help you can give me on the first issue would be great! I am worried and check out stuck on you! I love the products!

I'm counting down until the 23rd! I'm so excited to get online and start booking things...:yay:

Still trying to figure out the best times for dinner and brunch at Palo. :confused3 I think we will skip out on the high tea.

I don't think we will do any excursions at Key West...just wander around and explore the area. GC I plan to swim with the stingrays. We wanted to do Atlantis at GC or Cozumel but DD will be too small so we have to see if we can arrange something with the ILs to watch her if we went. No plans for Cozumel as of yet. We've done Xcaret in the past. I would like to see Tulum but, again, DD is too young and that is too long of an excursion to leave her. We'll probably just explore and/or find a beach to relax on.

I plan to try something at the spa, too...just don't know what yet! We're almost there...:dance3:

Oh, and I have some of the Stuck on You labels as well and they do work out really great. They're cute, too!

We are also counting down until the 23rd, when we can book online (of course, it's also the day the kids go back to school):cool1: Probably won't really book all that much ... would like to do a brunch at Palo (not pick about which day, will just have to see what's left by the time it gets to us:confused3 ).

Hey everyone - I just watched a utube thing on the pirate excursion and I am having serious doubts about going!! HELP! I mean, it looks ok for teens - but definitely not young kids. I would post the link but I have no clue how to do that. Anybody ever done this???

Hey guys. We haven't posted in forever. We are 2 adults and a 7 and 2 yr old. We are seriously thinking of cancelling. Containing my sobs.

Money is a lot tighter than we thought it would be when we booked this vacation on this same sailing last year and we are thinking it may be fiscally irresponsible to try to fit this in. :guilty:

I want to go SOOOOOOOOOOOOO bad but I have to keep chiding myself that I'm a "responsible adult" and that you can't get everything you want

We may go ahead an cancel and if things turn around by Oct and there is still cabins avail, rebook then.

My 2 year old and 7 year old would have so much fun....not to mention myself and DH. Ahhh the bitter taste of responsibility.

On a bright note, we did just get back from a WONDERFUL vacation. We usually go on 2 vacations a year...a DCL and something smaller. Last week we went to a family all inclusive resort in Jamaica....FDR Pebbles. I know Jamaica doesn't sound smaller but we got a heck of a deal. It was awesome. I'll have to post more info about it later. Highly recommend. :yay:

On the down side, it drained our discretionary money and thus we are in this predicament where it looks like we will have to forgo DCL. DCL or paying kids medical bills, mortgage, etc. Hmmm.

I'll let you know if we cancel. Sure looking that way.

:confused3 sorry i asked, didn't read the last of your message, u r a seasoned traveler on the ocean.:rolleyes1 oh, well no wonder u didn't rush to post, this is old hat for u. still fun tho, or u wouldn't do it over again. :flower3

:rotfl2: It's definately not old hat for sure! I've been lurking for months but didn't want to post in case we had to cancel because it's soooo much more disappointing! I'm super excited and spend most of my free time planning this trip. Our anniversary is 10/7 and DH's birthday is 10/15 so it's quite the celebration for us!

This is my 4th cruise, DH's 3rd cruise and DS's 2nd cruise. We are so excited for him to be able to go to the Club this time. When we did the repo, he had just turned 2 a week before we sailed so it was just Flounder's for him. I'm crossing my fingers that he loves the Club. Dh and I could use the alone time. :woohoo:

:lmao: :lmao: so u just love to cruise, that sounds good, if it's our first time, and u r so looking forward to your fourth. and celebrations to boot. i think it's great, and i hope u get the alone time u want. it would be sooo romantic for u two.:yay: :yay: i'm just hoping to have a good time seeing things i've never seen before. i hear the sunrise and sun sets on the ocean r beautiful.:cool1: anyway, it will be fun just to get away from drudge for a while.:woohoo: :woohoo: nothing exciting going on around this part of the country. i may be old, but i still like to experience new things.:rotfl2: :rotfl2: over the hill, 63 but still enjoy the good times to be had.:dance3:

Haven't posted in a little bit....

Trying to get plan in place for excursions since we book on the 23rd. STILL don't know exactly what we are doing.
Key West- we are renting an electric car.. with DGM wanting to sightsee we will need something other than walking. She fell last week (dizzy)- didn't hurt herself but got a little knocked around. We will definetly be using a wheelchair to get her around and the electric cars will make things so much easier. :thumbsup2
Still working on the packing schedule.. I have yet to finish my master plan so I can build my not-so-master plans... :rotfl2: I need a plan to make my plans!! :lmao: :rotfl2: I am in so much trouble. I look at the countdowns and they have a two in them... a 'two' people**! That's less than 12 weeks to go! I look at that and I actually get butterflies... :hippie: I don't know if I'm going to survive this vacation... If I pass out from sheer over-excitement while I am there... just roll me out onto the beach and leave me there! :cool2:

Deadline for the buttons is coming up too.. sheesh! :scared: how will I ever get it all done!

<sigh> Well, guess I should go back to my ...umm...plans...

DO YOU KNOW WHERE YOU ARE GOING TO RENT THE ELECTRIC CAR FROM?
HAVE YOU GOTTEN ANY RATES?

I THOUGHT ABOUT DOING THIS IN KEY WEST, BUT EITHER THEY ARE WAY TO EXPENSIVE, OR I'M JUST CHEAP. I WAS QUOTED 140.00 FOR 4 HOURS.

HAVE YOU FOUND ANYTHING BETTER THAN THAT?:confused3 IF SO, PLEASE SHARE.

THANKS
ANN

Hey everyone! We are back from vacation! And what a trip it was! Gosh we love Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort! Such a calm family vacation. Now nothing stands between me and the cruise but GS Camp, and school starting :lmao:

Does everyone have their plans set for Friday night? The reason I ask is my friend and I both managed to book IllumiNations cruises for that night, and I thought if anyone here was interested, we have an extra boat. The cost is around $250 (yikes I know) snacks and pop are provided. The cruise takes off from the Y&B Club around 8, and normally tours around to MGM before pulling under the brigde for a great view of IllumiNations. The boats hold 10, so maybe two families can share it of perhaps one of our larger groups...

Let me know :-)

Ok off to catch up on this thread! :grouphug:

My DH is not here to ask just yet - but if someone will split the boat with me (Bridget/Rebecca are you interested?) I might be interested!

Shirley

:confused3 DD has hurt her back, can hardly get around, is seeing a dr. hoping it's only a short time. hates to miss work. been trying to help her with grunt work at home. she will get back to whoever it was on the electric car rental for key west soon, can't sit at the computer right now.:rolleyes1 hang in there soon will be getting in touch again, then look out she will probably post all over the place:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We just got back from the Children with Diabetes conference at Coronado Springs Resort at WDW - it was a great time! We spent two days in the parks - MK and Epcot.

Looks like my booking window for excursions and etc opens up next week! I'm still not sure what we're doing on Friday night. There is a MNSSHP that night and I'd love to do that but I don't want to be too exhausted. What do you think? I haven't booked a room for that night yet either. We're supposed to arrive at MCO around 1pm on Friday.

I was gung-ho on the MNSSHP idea until going to the MK this weekend and realizing that all my kids would want to do is drag me back and forth between Splash, BTMRR and Space Mountain. I don't know if I could get them to wait and sit for the parade!:upsidedow

Maybe we are better off driving to port and staying there?

How do we know what dining rotation we're on? I know we have 1st seating but if I do Palo I'd like to do it on a night that we have that Parrot Cay type restaurant (can't remember if that is the name of it!). Is there any way to guess that ahead of time?

I'm getting excited!:cool1:

Just wanted to say hi to everyone!

Laura, glad you had a good time. While I was going around to work this past week down here Savannah, about to MELT in the heat, I was thinking of you all sitting on the beach. In my dream, you all were happy playing in the water and drinking Cokes and reading books, and I would think, you know, I could just go up there to visit and say hello. :rotfl2:

As far as Friday plans, we're driving in straight to the port and staying over night at the Radisson and eating dinner with some family we have over there. Does anyone have any resturant suggestions for me for that area by chance? That boat thing sounds way cool though!

I just cut out the pattern and fabric for my semi formal dress. I'm taking a sewing class and I picked this as my project. I'm so nervous it's going to look bad, but I've told myself I'm wearing it, period! I'll just have to try extra hard. I mean it has darts and everything, so y'all wish me luck.

Happy planning Pixie Dust to everyone :wizard:
