**@@** October 6th, 2007 Magic**@@**

Hey everyone!
I just wanted to introduce myself, as I am also going on the October 6th cruise! woohoo!!

We are from Memphis, and this will be our second DCL cruise. Our first was in 2005 on the Wonder. This time, we are beyond excited for our seven-nighter!

We are:
Me (Julie) age 32, working mom of two busy boys!
DH (Ron), age 33 (wonderful man who has put up with me for almost 13 years!)
DS (Ethan) age 10 (wonderful, sweet, kind and very smart boy!)
DS (Seth) age 6 (hmmm...a little firecracker, LOL!)

I'd love to "get to know" some of y'all before the cruise, so I decided to quit lurking and join in.

PS-I am at work now, so I gotta go! :surfweb:

That makes four of us with kids that are going into 1st grade. Emily (Lenz's daughter) and Cameron (my DD) already know each other so they will have some new friends to meet! Also, our friends that are traveling with us also have a DD that age. I guess that actually makes five! My DS, however, will be almost eleven...anyone, anyone?

Me, me!!
My son turned 10 in April, so he'll be 10.5 by October. He would definitely like someone to hang with on the cruise.

We are planning on having both of the boys hang out in the kids club for a couple/few hours a day, as they both loved it last time.

Our little one is going to be in first grade, so anyone with first grade boys, I'd like to hear from you!

Welcome!! YAY!!! More Cruisers! Glad you found us!

We did a 3 day on the Wonder in Sept 05, and now a 7 day TOO!! Do you know your cabin number yet? or are you GTY? If so which Cat, so I can add you to the list :-)

Can everyone tell I am beyond excited. Prolly doesnt help that I discovered DCL Podcasts and have been watching them on and off all day. Some of them TWICE! Yeah yeah I have it bad, what can I say :dance3: (for the podcast thing to work I had to click my choice then above it select the real player link HTH)

I hurt my back about a week back (haha) and have been seeing a Chiropractor and massage theripist to get it un-tweeked. My back feels better but my neck now hurts! :confused3 So we shall see what the next few days bring. I am a bit nervous since we have our big family road trip to Hilton Head starting the 5th... long time in the car with a sore neck/back. I'll live. lol (maybe I should find a massage place on HHI.... hmmmm)

I wont have internet there, so consider this a heads up that I wont be around from July5th until the 15th! (in case anyone misses me haha)

Which Brings me to BUTTONS!!! July 20th everyone needs to have their buttons done.... so we can vote. Time's ticking!!!!! YAY time's ticking! :yay:

Ok it's late, my back hurts, and I still have another DCL Podcast I want to watch! I cant wait to show the kids the kid's club ones. They willl squeel with delight!

Night!

Welcome! I, too, did the Wonder in 05 (I think it was around sept 29ish). If you liked the Wonder, you'll love the Magic! More days of fun...how can you go wrong?

I'd be happy to introduce your son to mine. We are also travelling with another couple and they too have a son that age. The more the merrier! When it gets closer we will have to set up a time for them to meet.

I was on the Sept 29th 3 day cruise (complete with the bomb scare) was that the cruise you were on Reilly?

Hmm...ya know after thinking about it, I think we must have been on the sailing after that. We did the land portion first on the 29th and then the cruise. A bomb scare? OOOOOOHHHHHH scary....what happened?

Yay! MIL called this morning to tell us that our DCL Welcome Kits have arrived!!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

She was all prepared to give me information and tell me which date we can start booking things...and I had to rush to tell her I already know it is July 23 and we are 97 days out and I am soooooo soooo excited!!! I've been spending time reading the Birnbaum books now (already read PassPorter) and checking out the DCL website. I've saved things on my wish list and I wanted to be oriented before the time opens up for the booking and real planning. I can't wait!!!!!

Now, I might have to go and check out those podcasts. :hippie:

Turned out someone from the last cruise left an unattended bag with food in it or something... it alerted the dogs, so they did the whole shebang with robots and stuff.

Muster was postponed... NOT a great way to start one's first cruise.

WOW Laura! That is something! It is nice to know that they carefully check the ship each time though. Add good security to the many things I already love about DCL! Thanks for the pics and I love your shirts! Well done!

I know we're in Category 11, and I have the room # down somewhere...
I will find it and post it later.

Thank you all for the warm welcome! I'll be busy over the next few days due to the holiday, but I look forward to 'getting to know' all of you fellow DCL'ers in the next couple of months.

Less than 100 days now, right? We have our Welcome Packet, and I'm counting down until 7/8 so that I can sign up for excursions, etc. online. Can't wait!!

95 days!!! That means all you repeat cruisers have 5 days... FIVE DAYS!!!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful 4th of July! We are about to head out to the fireworks show, then tomorrow morning at 5 inthe freaking morning we are leaving on our big road trip to Hilton Head Island SC for a week!!!

Sooooooooooooo I wont be posting for a while :-)

Take care!

We have been looking for ... and found... lime green Dis shirts for the embarkation day! Disney shopping has some on clearance for $4.99. We snatched up what we needed for our group and wanted to pass on the link to you all..

LimegreenDISBoardshirts**LOOK HERE!**

Still have some available!!

Sale might be ending today! Not sure if it is a clearance price or a special 4th of July thing.

Just paid off this cruise!!!

Now we just battle for those excursions on the 8th - three more days!

I'm still around! We go to WDW in a few days for a short trip and that is eating up all my planning time! I realize when we get back I have to pay off the cruise and my 75 day booking window opens up! Yikes!

Anyone else going to Tulum? I really want to go with my older son (who will be a few weeks shy of his 10th birthday on the cruise).

and hello to all after a bit of a break. Been working on that wedding dress and had fit issues. But I want it to be perfect. Hopefully it will be mostly finished by tomorrow night but I have two more weeks before DD leaves. It's a good thing I've been sewing since I was a kid or this would be driving me nuts. I think so far I've put the "dress" together 6 times when you count the junk fabric for fitting, then the lining - again for fitting and now the satin...and I still don' have the satin attached to the lining. Fortunately DD chose a simple princess line strapless without any lace or beading but the simplicity means the fit has to be even more perfect cause there's nothing to hide any mistakes. However, this is something we will both remember for the rest of our lives so totally worth it. Besides, my mom and I made my dress 34 years ago so I'm just continuing a tradition.

News is that MIL and SisterIL are booked. Now we just hope MIL's passport gets in. Will be interesting if it doesn't but my guess is that if they're still swamped, they will extend the "waiver" period so we should be fine.

We paid off our cruise last night -   . I called DCL today to link our ressies with MILs and found out the DCL website is having some "maintenance". The reservation agent I talked to was hoping it would be fully functional by tomorrow.

The sun is out today:yay: . I think yesterday and today are the first time we've gone two days in a row without some type of rain in over a month. Really soggy June for the Dallas area but I guess it beats the drought we had last summer.

That's all for now. Hope everyone is having a fun and safe summer.

OK all you repeat cruisers - today is the day! My alarm went off at 7:00 and I was on the computer by 7:02! :cheer2: We are now official for Palo - both brunch and dinner and the Pirate Excursion at 8:15.

I really want to book the rasual.....anyone else that has actually done this? I keep reading so much about it. Should I take the plunge? :confused3

We still need to book the Royal Swim but using another company.

I was also able to get all 3 kids given away (I mean registered :rolleyes1 ).

YIPEE!! Now all I have to do is sit back and wait. No, actually, I have to pack, pack, pack!

  congrats, for the dress, hope it goes together alright so u can finish it. wedding dresses r so important and i'm sure it means so much more that u made it for her.  loving work is so appreciated by loved ones. seems like u whipped it out pretty qiuck, even with the set backs. DD and i r working out an itinerary for sightseeing so DM (DGM) can have something to remember forever. so far only at key west, so we r just starting. want to fill her and our days with fun and experiences to hold on to.:dance3: there r museums at key west of interest and hemmingway's house, truman's little white house. www.keywestfun.org/index.htm. thinking of renting a small electric car. :cool1: :cool1: map on line, we'll see, only in beginning stages.:woohoo: :woohoo: but it's a start. working on packing lists to cover all bases, if possible. disney, here we come!:cheer2: :cheer2:

I booked all our stuff a few days ago; I just couldn't wait until we board the ship...the anticipation was killing me!

Palo brunch and dinner are scheduled (I think we will skip high tea this year).

We did book the rasul (although I haven't heard anything about it) it sounded interesting. What has everyone said about it? My DH will then move on to a pedicure (his first one ever!) and I'm moving on to the hydrolift facial. I am also doing the stone massage another day as well.

For excursions, we are booked for the key west trolley tour to get an overview of things we may have missed in the past (although we may still cancel this one), we are doing the pirate encounter in GC at the 10:15 sailing, and we are doing the eco-tour and snorkel in Cozumel as I have heard wonderful things about this. I think this is the one we are most excited about. No dolphin or sting ray swims for us as we are going to Discovery Cove the day before the cruise and we will swimm with them there. We are also booked for MNSSHP for the Sunday after the cruise which we have never done before.

By George, I think I'm done!:woohoo:
