Oh and we take the kids out of school for the 10 days we are gone and they get to make up the work. we have done this every year and have never had a teacher have a problem with it.
Our oldest Caleb plays football as well but he knows his mommy is disney crazy so he deals. HAHAHA

we just booker yesterday!!!! YIPEE We are in a stateroom guarentee for now. . This is our first Disney Cruise Butg will be our 12th trip to WDW. We are doing a week at WDW before the cruise if anyone else is doing the same let me know.

My DH and I will also be at WDW the week before. We're staying at the Boardwalk. Sorry no little ones on the cruise , but DGD4 will be with us at WDW.

We talked with our daughters Principal and teacher prior to "paying" for our trip on the 11 night Southern cruise in the middle of September. In Arizona, at least our school district, class starts the 2nd Monday of August. We were worried that she would be out of class for a full two weeks. We suggested she make a video and written journal of her travels to her teacher and principal. Both thought this was a great idea, and the places she would visit would outweigh what she would learn in class. Great!!! No worries! During the Christmas break we received a letter that Jenna had missed too much school (only missed two other days besides the vacation) and we were now facing a possible fine, court appearance, blah, blah, blah. All has been worked out, but we were quite scared and felt like horrible parents after reading that letter.

Luckily this Western cruise is during their Fall Break next year.

However, we are going to roll the dice again with the school district and sign up for the WB Repo next May!!! Can't pass up on the Panama Canal!

Wow that was not Fun!!!!!
We had a little problem one year because our DD Coral had missed for the 10 days of vacation and she got strep throat 6 times in one school year and had her tonsels and adnoids removed that same school year but they just called me on the phone and confirmed all her doctors notes and everything was ok.
I agree that they learn so much on these vacations. I homeschooled my oldest for 3 years and that was part of his school work.

I haven't picked what day yet, but we are totally doing it! We went last year and had a great time. I figured we would just wear our pirate night outfits for costumes and that way not have to pack anything extra. Not that you "have" to dress up for the Halloween party but we did last year it made it just that much more fun.

Hey, if any of us were totally informed, we wouldn't be here!

As mentioned, it's the Magic Kingdom's kid friendly Halloween party. It's a hard ticket event around 30 to 40 bucks. I can't remember what I paid last year. They start letting you in around four and kicking everyone else out at around six or seven. They have trick or treating and the Boo to You parade and a Halloween fireworks show. (which is good, but no Wishes in my opinion) You stay in the park until about midnight.

The other thing to remember is that if you get a photopass card, at the hard ticket event you get a photopass card that is good for 50 percent off as long as you use it within a certain amount of time. I was able to get 50 percent off all my photopass pictures from that trip along with my Halloween ones. So that was a real savings for me. The other nice thing was we got to ride all the rides with no wait because all the little kids were trick or treating. It was great. I've never seen Space Mountain with absolutly no line before. We even rode some rides we never get to ride, like Dumbo and Peter Pan, just because there wasn't really a wait.

Also, if your family likes characters, they are all out, and some rarer ones too, and they all have their costumes on so it makes for some nice photo oppurtunities.

In looking at our schedule I'm thinking that we will go down early on the 4th, rest, and then do Halloween. We are one of the lucky ones that can easirly make the drive in five hours. I think being there a couple days early will help get us in the vacation spirt. I can't wait!

I also have to say that I'm glad I wasn't the only one who didn't know what that abbreviation for the Halloween party stood for!!!! I can see that I still have a LOT to learn from all of you pro-cruisers!!!

Hey Rebbeca! Glad you found us again! MNSSHP and MVMCP (mickey's very merry christmas partt) are waaaaaaaaaaaaaay to long to type. Both GREAT parties!

I am a HUGE Fan of the Halloween party.... this past year we must of scored 8 lbs of candy! We rode more that night than we did when we spent the whole day at MK. The crowds are marvy!

The parade is great too.... Boo To You! The Headless horseman is UNBELIEVABLE!!!

Sadly we cant pull the kids out of any more school so we cant make the Tuesday or Thursday it runs... But it is so worth it.


EDITED TO ADD>... To make sure your getting email notifcations you can go to User cp (near the top of the screen) then on the left hand side you will see Edit OPTIONS... click that and scroll down There are lots of different settings in there. Hope that helps

Nothing in about a week. Where is everyone? Anybody still going on the cruise?

We added the WB Repo this week, and the thread for that cruise is well over 100 pages. Hard to keep up with!

As much as I love the idea of doing a repo cruise, the fact is, at this time, our kids are too little and it would be a pain! lol Once they are all out of the house, DH and I will do one.


We have been kicking around doing a 4 day in Oct 2008... As much as I would love to do another 7 day we are really starting to miss the PARKS! With a 4 day, we can hit Food and Wine, Cruise and do MNSSHP all in the same vacation! But first I need to pay this cruise off! lol

Bears just lost the Superbowl... very sad around here....

Gosh what a week here in Chicago... The Bears loss hit us hard.... and then add in temps in the MINUS numbers... well yuck! Been hanging out on the cruise board here to escape!!!

I think I have my massages all planned out now... I melt just thinking about them! woot!

For Concierge the booking window is 105 days out..

For repeat cruisers the booking window is 90 days out...

For first time cruisers the booking window is 75 days out...

It's getting closer.... (hardy har har) I might change my siggy to include the above countdowns since they are much shorter than my current countdowns

Also for some twisted reasson 239 days seems so much shorter than 8 months away... doesnt it??
