**@@** October 6th, 2007 Magic**@@**

Ok, a bit off topic here but what dance school does she go to? My daughter used to go to Dancenergy and is dying to start back again. I loved it there but it is just too far for me to go, especially since she is of company age now. I am looking for a school that is closer to us. How old is your daughter again? Mine is 6.

She goes to Jeanne's on Alma School. Picked it mostly b/c it's close to home and also b/c Jeanne (who is now VERY old and no longer dances) used to teach at the dance school where I took lessons almost 30 years ago!!! It is a really small studio with not a ton of bells and whistles, but my daughter seems to really like it there and has learned a lot. She is in their junior company as of this year and loves it - although it's a lot of work! She's 7 and in 2nd grade.

I'm so excited to go watch the girls dance at Disneyland, but I'm a bit bummed that it'll be such a quick turnaround trip. We just can not take any time off of work and I'd hate to pull the kids out of school after such a LONG spring break! We're driving :drive: blech!

This DISboards have been having trouble, but hopefully they will get everything fixed in a week or so.

But rest assured email noticfaction or no email, there are posts here waiting for you to read ;)

Our spring break started today... Weds we drive 6-8 hours to Ohio to visit family for a couple of days. I am looking forward to it. Kids are pretty good in the car... I hope that trend holds true for this trip. lol

Ok it's late, I will try and update the list tomorrow...

Night everyone!

I am SO glad to be back!!!!:yay:

Those of you with young children, what are you doing about passports? Since the requirements keep changing, it looks like they won't be necessary at the time of our cruise. I was going to get one just to be safe, but do you think it is worth it? What is everyone else doing???:confused3

We actually ended up getting passports for our kids during that short time before the rules changed back. Currently, passports will not be required until January, 2008. It's nice to get it over with, but it was a bit of a pain. If both parents can not be present, I think you need to sign some sort of notarized form and it's even a bigger hassle. We did ours at the post office - pictures and all. It only took about an hour and they came within less than 6 weeks. HTH.

Here is some info off the Dept of State website....

Beginning January 23, 2007, ALL persons, including U.S. citizens, traveling by air between the United States and Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and Bermuda will be required to present a valid passport, Air NEXUS card, or U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Document, or an Alien Registration Card, Form I-551, if applicable.

As early as January 1, 2008, ALL persons, including U.S. citizens, traveling between the U.S. and Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and Bermuda by land or sea (including ferries), may be required to present a valid passport or other documents as determined by the Department of Homeland Security. While recent legislative changes permit a later deadline, the Departments of State and Homeland Security are working to meet all requirements as soon as possible. Ample advance notice will be provided to enable the public to obtain passports or passport cards for land/sea entries.

I, too, am going to go to get my kids their passports just for the fact that they will eventually need them so right now is as good a time as any. Plus, I don't want to wait for the mad rush because when they finally do pass this law, everyone and their mother will be trying to get a passport!

My dh and I were at the post office yesterday to apply for our passports and the lady there handling the paperwork said soon anyone flying anywhere within the United States will have to have a passport.

Ok I think I added all the new people, but fear I left someone out!!

But I am sure someone will remind me if I did!

Lovely day here! it's 73 degrees out and I can only hope the weather stays nice for all of our spring break! Took the kids to the zoo today and have big biking riding plans for tomorrow!

Hope everyone is going good...

We went ahead and got our children (will be 8 and 6) passports. We figured that it was better to have them then not. We applied at the local post office and had them back within 6 weeks.
If you are considering applying for passports, I would recommend doing it as soon as possible. I understand there is a huge backlog of people trying to get passports and it is taking a lot longer to get your passport and birth certificated returned.

I got mine last year for the entire family. It was a hassle because I got mine and then had my husband take the kids (we tried to get everyones together but were missing some documentation. Mine was a renewal so I had my ducks in a row.) Anyway, and hour later my DH and the kids were back trying to finish up the paperwork and even though they had seen all of us less than an hour before, I was called and had to come in order for the paperwork to get processed.
Glad I have them - it was a much shorter line getting out of customs with the passports. I was glad I had them on the last cruise.

Hello. Although I've 'lurched" occassionally, I haven't acuatually posted but once. It thought I'd "check in" since my DD found out about the Oct 6 Kid's chat. The kiddo board is a good idea. DD think's that is really interesting.

To recap. We are myself & DH 30's, DD 7 & DS 2. We've been going annually since discovering the fun when DD was 3 so we've completed 4 DCL Cruises so far. We took this exact cruise last Oct and rebooked on board. Anyone else on the same one last year?

We are going to get the kids passports as well. Since we're getting some for ourselves, why not get it out of the way now for them? We're doing this, hopefully Monday.

I hear it is taking 10 weeks right now.

We also decided it was better to 'bite the bullet' and get the passports. Frankly, the trouble you can get into by not having them is not worth it. Ye, it added cost to the cruise... but we can use it as an excuse to say 'Hey, we already have the passports might as well use them and take another trip!!'  Not stupid today!!:rotfl2: :cool1:

We also decided to just get them for our kids. And yes, it makes it a little bit easier to do more traveling -- who knows, maybe a Disney trip to England someday!

Hello, I just booked our Disney Cruise for October 6, 2007. My DH and I spent our honeymoon, 3.5 years ago, on Carnival Pride, but this will be our first with Disney. We are so excited! I have an extreme case of "over-planning syndrome", and these boards help to pass the time. Anyway, here is our info:

We are from the beautiful state of Oregon
Category 7/Navigator on Deck 7
Myself/Arin: 26, I will actually be turning 27 on the ship (Oct. 8th)!
DH: 28 at time of sailing
DD: 9 at time of sailing

The little one, DS: 2, will be sitting this one out and staying with the grandparents:)

Looking forward to chatting with all of you.

This is our first cruise and these boards are so helpful. They help pass the time because already a month has passed since we booked and it seems like yesterday! :woohoo: Lots of planning to do yet.. one clue I think I am going to use is to keep a suitcase handy and throw the 'little' ideas in so you don't forget. Like the waterproof camera casing we are buying, snorkle stuff for the kids, plastic ziplock bags, trash bags (ya,never know!), I'm sure I will think of more things as the summer passes... :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Hope to see you there!

Where in Oregon are you from? We graduated from the UofO but are transplanted in Phoenix.

We have friends from Eugene traveling with us on this cruise. You won't be the only Oregonians!

Hello, Just checking in again. I am getting excited again for this cruise. My parents are going on the May 12 Repo cruise so I am helping them plan for that - I am Jealous. I would go to except I do not think anyone at school (work) would be happy if their teacher took off the last two weeks of school for a non emergency - hey wait Disney withdrawl counts as an emergency - doesn't it?:confused3 ;)
Well, our house that we are building is moving quickly. We broke ground in January and it looks like we will finish in May. They are putting on the drywall this week, roof is loaded and the outside is wrapped (I think it is called sheathed?) It looks like a house - and yet all I can think of is -
MY PARENTS ARE GOING ON A DISNEY CRUISE WITHOUT ME!!!!! AAGHH!

My baby just had her 6th birthday March 29, lost all four front teeth and is growing way to quick. Her little girl look disappeared in a matter of a week. My DH says "she uglied up quick" - I wouldn't go that far but I do want her teeth back, and I want my baby back. I am so proud of her but it goes by so fast - I fear tomorrow she will graduate college and get married - yikes!

Talk soon

RellyRooly:

I recognize your screen name from another message board that I used to be obsessed with. I haven't been on there in months though. I tried to send you a PM about it, but it doesn't work (I probably just don't know what i'm doing:)) Anyway, what a small world huh?

(if this is not the same rellyrooly from the other board, just ignore this message  )

How the heck are ya??!!! Long time, no speak.

I know exactly what you mean about Em...Cami is the same way right now. Ryan and I have noticed that she is even fuller in her face and is starting to get a little thick. That paired with her missing tooth (soon to be two), she is starting to look like a different person. I guess not different, just more grown up. I think you notice it a lot more with the girls at that age than you do the boys. We are just noticing it alot now with Jordan at the age of ten. OH, and the attitudes...ick! And what is with the boys wanting their hair long now? I feel like I am back in the 70's!

Anyway, I hope all is well with you. Only 9 more weeks of school (good for you, bad for the rest of us, lol) We are going on a cruise (not DCL) to Alaska in June and it will be so weird to be on any other ship! I will be looking forward to the reprive from the heat though so that is all I care about!

Let's see about getting all us Chandler people together again (as well as some of our new fellow Chandler cruisers). Maybe after school lets out?

Talk to ya soon!
