Ntheory --

I like the idea of the zippered pouches. This will be our first Disney cruise so we won't qualify for a Cataway Cay zippered pouch BUT WAIT......being that we have YOUR suite, maybe I can get one from concierge, LOL!!!!!!!!

We were SUPPOSE to have the Walt suite. Got closed out of that one. We were booked for a two bedroom but then the call came from our TA that the Roy came through, we were wait listed. It took me about two seconds to decide to take it!!! Sorry, looks like we are still a "go" for that room. No problem, you can come and visit!!!!!!!! We aren't planning on going on another Disney cruise because this one is costing us a fortune so you can have it on your next Disney cruise!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait to meet you!!!

Ok. I will see what I can do on those. We may be able to do both for everyone to choose. We'll see what I can come up with.

LOL!! We were actually aiming for the 2 handicap rooms at the end of the boat - either 8100 and 8102 or 8600 and 8602, but they haven't released those rooms yet. That's ok, though. We're looking forward to trying the Cat 2 this time.

I'm so excited to get to see the Roy suite. That will give me visions of things to come! LOL!!

Yeah, they are expensive, but they really are worth it. I have watched shows on other cruise lines, and they TOTALLY don't appeal to me. Disney is Disney not matter what. There's just nothing like it to me. :) BUT ... I'm a Disney nut and a Disney snob. LOL!!!!! We've not been on a different cruise, and if I have my way, we never will.

Susan -

THANKS so much for going though all the posts and PM'ing everyone..

Susan has sent me all your updates and I will work to get them up on the cruise site as soon as possible. Still recovering from our WDW trip last week LOL..

From this point on please send Susan all Fish extender information as she is the master of the list. She will forward me your information and I will update it to the web. I will continue to handle the shipmates list.

A Couple other ideas I was thinking we need someway to identify each other when we are getting on board and on the cruise. Does anyone have any suggestions on what we could do? Tshirts would be great but that only covers one day. I was thinking maybe a pin, button, something like that. If it is a button I could design it and post the graphic and directions on how to make them, then everyone could make their own and have them when they arrive at their hotels the night before or at the port..I know alot of us are at the Radisson the night before and will see strangers faces there or at breakfast the night before. I know on our last cruise we sat next to family at the Radisson for breakfast and then saw them 3 days later on the ship. We had no way to know we were cruising together.

This is something that could be done way ahead of time.. I believe Michael's carries the blank buttons and they only cost a dollar or so. I will be happy to create the button AND a matching door sign which can be printed on magnetic paper. Let me know if you want this or some other idea

Also, since Monday is a sea day should we schedule a get together for an hour or so maybe late morning? Saturday will be crazy with check-in, sailaway party and trick or treating and Sunday we are in Key West so I thought a fun meet and greet may be in order for Monday. If anyone wants to plan this I say go for it. We have such a large group and getting bigger ever day that we should do something so we can all meet and know faces

Ideas????

LETS GET THIS PARTY STARTED :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
233 DAYS!!!!

Susan - When is that suite tour??? :lmao: :lmao:

..... heading up a "Meet and Greet" and or helping out on it. I put one together on our Disney Wonder cruise in January and had a total blast doing it. So...if you wanna, just please pm me in letting me know its ok (the powers that be) for me to do this as yes I agree,..the Monday am (seaday) would make a great day for a Meet and Greet.:goodvibes
What to wear (shirts, lanyards, etc.) we can always work on over the next few weeks.
Anywho - I just make a decision to sign up for 'Alone Time" in the Vista Spa so look out! I just "may be" camped out at the Vista Spa a lot during this vacation as I will also be buying a weeks pass for the Rainforest Room as well.

Guys -

I have gotten all the updates that you have sent Susan and will do my best to have the site caught up by Saturday. I've got a big project at work today and tomorrow but if I can work it in I will get it done sooner.

okay I know someonehas done the math and I am just gonna be lazy and ask..

What day do castaway members make excursion reservations and what day do first time cruisers make theirs? We have a cabin of each?

Thanks

Right there with you! This will only be our second cruise, but we were SO depressed when the first one was over. Especially since we did not take advantage of rebooking. I plan to never get off a Disney ship again without rebooking! Every so often, I look at other cruises, especially since several are cruising out of Baltimore. But, i just can not do it. I can not imagine going with another cruise!

I think it is 8/2 - for Castaway members (90 days) and 8/17 for 1st time cruisers (75 days).

Renysmom (Kelly) -- Thank you SOOOOO much for helping out in this task of keeping everyone organized! I know that everyone will be excited to see their information inputted and updated over the days to come.

Ntheory -- I believe us "suite" people can book excursions, Palo, etc 105 days out. Is this correct????? BTW, do you have any children that will be cruising with you? We have one DD who will be almost five years old. I thought it would be nice for her to have someone on our floor around her age.

Hi Everyone,
I am thinking of changing our December cruise on the Wonder to this one (Oct31) on the Magic. Just wondering if anyone has done a cruise of Halloween before and if they offer any Halloween activities like trick or treating and are kids allowed to dress up...It's my first cruise and after reading all these dis boards I just think 4 nights will be way too short...thanks:cheer2:

Concierge - 105 days out (July 18)
Castaway Club - 90 days out (Aug. 2)
Other cruisers - 75 days out (Aug. 17)

LOL!!! We're actually going to look at DVC this time because we only do Disney vacations. We want to see if they can make it worth our while. I can't imagine another cruise, either. I just watched those Discovery Channel shows about other lines, and I realized that there's just nothing like Disney.

You're correct. :)

YES. We can book 105 days out (July 18).

Yes, I do. I have 3 kids, but only 2 will be cruising with me this time. The oldest (almost 18) will be in boot camp at that point ... or in the School of Infantry ... depending on when he ships.

The 2 that will be with me will be 13 and 4. The 4 year old will LOVE having a friend down the hall and someone she can hook up with in the kids' club. That would be AWESOME.

I probably won't see the 13 year old for the whole cruise. LOL! He'll stay in Ocean Quest the whole time .... and is SO excited to be going back.

From what we've been able to gather from other Halloween cruises, they have special contests and trick-or-treating on Halloween. I'm actually hoping that they will not do this on the night of the 31st, but on the 1st, though. That first night is always so hectic. The contests are for adults and kids, I believe, but I'm not sure.

And, yes, I agree that 4 nights on the boat would be too short of a cruise. Our first cruise was 7 nights, and we never regretted that. It was fabulous ...... and I SO hated to leave. :(

ok the shipmates page is up to date... At least I hope it is LOL.. I was updating it as I was sitting in a meeting.

Try hiding the dis boards while you have people siting next to you...If I made a mistake or a typo let me know. It's very possible since I actually was trying to pay attention to the meeting for once.. :lmao: :lmao:

Fish List next

Hey Kelly (Renysmom) -- Does it take some time for the website to be updated? I checked it out but the additions and changes aren't showing up. Thanks for all of you work!!!! Keep up posted please.

......hey....per the thread a few pages ago about having a "meet and greet" on day 3 (first sea day) - is everyone ok with that??? Lets get this organized - ok everyone, send in your responses (on dates, times and location suggestions (if day 3 isn't a good day) and lets get this big ol Disney boat a rockin!:goodvibes
I am open to any day or time or location as you can obviously tell by my posting times, I keep late hours.
I don't mind keeping up with this so anywho - all you Disney fans out there, let's get this started - send in your postings or just pm me.

It's raining down here in Dallas but already I am watching "Hocus Pocus" and the "Tower of Terror" Disney movies (and its only March).popcorn::

ouch! I depressed "enter" on the fish extender list and it wont even let me in to it - I even tried depressing 'refresh" and no luck either. I am supposed to be signed up for it and just trying to obtain an updated printout of it. Anyone else having troubles with this?? Help!

This will be my first meet and greet so I am not sure how everything works. I am in, just let me know a time and day.
Can not wait to be there!!!

Wow, a lot of activity in the last few days since I checked.
Let me catch up.

Count us in on the meet and greet. I don't think I would be good to help arrange any of this since this is our first DCL cruise.

As for the button. lanyard and t-shirt ideas, her is what I think. Whatever is decided, I like the idea of people having them BEFORE the cruise. I just know that there will be some of us on our plane and also at the hotel. If we first get things distributed to us by someone after we get on the boat, we would have missed out on meeting people sooner. So because of that, if everyone could do their own button, I vote for that.

I also LOVE the lanyard idea. We are not castaway members so we won't be getting them, and having a way to hold onto our cards is a plus

T-shirt is so-so. Sure, it is cute, but it is a lot of planning, and you don't get to wear it that much.

Other ideas?? Hats?

Can I get who we need to contact to get added to the shipmate list, fish extender list and the meet list. I have lost track with all the posts who are the "team leaders" in this.

Thanks

Steve

Susan (Queenie) -

Since you were the very first person to post to this thread could you edit/update that very first post and put who the contacts are for the Cruise site, the Fish Extenders, the Lanyards and the Meet and Greet. I think this way as new people read about the cruise they will see the information and as Steve said, get less confused. I will also add it to the cruise website.

Thanks

Kelly (Renysmom) -- I'm actually trying to use real names along with screen names so I am ready to meet and greet people on the cruise!!! Thanks for the suggestion. I already updated the contact information on page one. Check it out please and let me know what you think. GREAT suggestion, once again.

I am REALLY glad other people on this thread are taking the initiative to arrange other activities. I was hoping that I would have a STRONG group to sail with!!! I DO like the idea of having the lanyards and name tags BEFORE getting on the cruise ship. Ntheory, if you need any help, please let me know and I will be glad to assist you in anyway possible with the layards and name tags!!!!!!
