OCTOBER 30th & NOVEMBER 3rd Cruises (FE and Meets)

I've been interested in the High Tea at Palo, but it has been unavailable so far. Anyone know anything about it? Any chance I might get a reservation for 5 once I get on board? Is it worth it?

You're doing a great job at this Mike. Thanks for taking the time to organize it by staterooms, it'll make it so much easier. Can't wait to get that final report a few days before the cruise.

For those who have participated in past FE exchanges, does this seem like a really large group or is this about average? It seems really big, but should make it a lot of fun for all the kids, big and small:)

Thanks!!!

Thanks for the compliment. 38 cabins is fairly big but about average for 7+ day cruises. The 3 day cruise we are taking before this one only has 15 cabins.

This is a much larger group than the others we have done. I think the biggest we've been involved in was about 20 rooms.

I made my FE tonight! I am pleased with how it turned out. I still need to add our name and some ribbons, then I will post a picture. It's not fancy, but it is fun.

Only 6 weeks to go!:cool1:

It's a cool crisp day here in Scarborough.

Starting to think of where we'll stay on the way down and the way home (we drive to Florida). I have the holiday inn express reserved for the night before the cruise (though I'd love to switch to a WDW hotel but even with the Canadian discount, it's still too expensive!). Probably going to take a nice leisurely drive down this time (leave Wednesday night after work) and drive Thursday, Friday and some of Saturday.

Hope everyone else's travel plans are coming along well.

When's the formal night?

If anyone is bringing Halloween costumes there is a thread from someone who was told that on the Wonder, they will be moving the Halloween festivities to 10/30 because 10/31 is a formal night.

Nobody's said the Dream is doing this. and there's only one person reporting that they were told the Wonder is doing this. But if you are bringing costumes, you may want to bring them as a carry-on just in case.

As I understand it there is no formal night on the 3 and 4 night cruises. They only have them on the 7 night and longer cruises.

Here is what we are planning:

Day 1 - Cruise Casual
Day 2 - Halloween costumes (DS: Woody, DH: Buzz, Me: Jessie)
Day 3 - Pirate attire
Day 4 - Cruise Casual

cool, I've never been on a cruise shorter than 7 nights. Not planning on pirate costume though. One costume is enough to carry.

From what I've seen, traditionally the "dress code" is as follows:

4 night cruise:

Departure day: Cruise Casual
Day 2: Optional Dress up night (i.e. semi / formal)
Day 3: Cruise Casual / Pirate night
Day 4: Cruise Casual

3 night cruise:

Departure day: Cruise Casual
Day 2: Cruise Casual / Pirate night
Day 3: Optional Dress up night (i.e. semi / formal)

For us, if it's on the same night, I'm going to skip Halloween costumes and go with the "Dress Up" wearing our formal / semi formal wear.

 You'll be easy to spot at Breakfast and lunch wearing you Halloween/Pirate attire...

We were only going to where the costumes at Dinner and the Party afterwards (tho, I may relent on the Halloween if I can stand wearing my black death outfit all day, could be hot).

PS. Yes I do know the schedules are for Dinner/Night time. But I couldn't help have fun with the statement lacking stated times hours.

Don't worry I don't plan on dressing like that all day just dinner. What they consider cruise casual is way to dressy for my everyday shorts and Disney tshirt. I plan to wear a dress to dinner on cruise casual nights which I rarely wear. :goodvibes

That tends to be my daily wear too, with the addition of Disney crocs and my Castaway Cay water bottle (keeps trips to the drink station down to only once per hour).

For dinner, I tend to wear long pants and a Disney polo shirt. And I'll either continue wearing my Disney Crocs or I will switch to my more formal black Crocs (I AM on vacation after all). :lmao:

.......::

1 night out of the 7 though I do intend to skip the dining room and try cabana's for dinner. Their menu for dinner (posted on Allearsnet) looks pretty good. I'm thinking we might skip our late dining on Pirate night (not my favourite menu) and try Cabana's then.

.........

On the August ALASKA cruise we did not have the pirate night menu. They said it had been discontinued--not pirate night itself--it's still on--but the menu is different.

We are planning on similar outfits to the PPs.

Night 1: Cruise casual for me and DH, fancier dresses for DDs for dinner and the Golden Mickeys.

Night 2: Halloween costumes- DD7 Ariel, DD5 Belle, Me Phineas, DH Ferb

Night 3: Pirate attire (probably just t-shirts and bandanas for me and DH) the girls have new pirate pjs from Gymboree which they will wear with black skirts.

Night 4: Cruise casual, probably sundresses for all the girls

We are flying down 5 weeks from Friday! Can't believe it. I feel like I still have so much to do.

I bought our girls the same pjs! They are so cute. I am going to buy the next size up, too, so that they can wear them next year, too.

5 Weeks until we leave! 11 of us will begin the drive down to PC. Feel like time is flying now! :cool1:

My SO actually suggested we get the suitcases out this morning and start packing... Caught me totally by surprise since HE is the LAST one to pack for nearly every trip we've ever gone on...:rotfl:

Hope everyone is having a great week!

High tea includes tea, finder sandwiches and a dessert course. DH and I have it reserved, but will cancel in a heartbeat if we can get brunch! While many say it's not the most elegant tea they have been to, for me, it's another chance to be in Palo, relax and just enjoy time with my DH!

If you are interested, keep watching for it before we sail. In addition, check the Personal Navigator in the terminal when you check in to see when they are taking waitlists/ressies for Palo for the cruise.

Yay, 36 more days, which means only 34 more sleeps at home for us. We are heading to Mickey's Not-So-Scarry-Halloween Party tonight. Of course, it will probably be raining, but that won't dampen our fun! Saving mine and DH costume for the Dream...DD has no idea we are going tonight. She thinks that she & I are going to surprise Daddy at work and go to Magic Kingdom for a few hours. I can't wait until she gets home from school!

Just wanted to say, high tea has been showing available for about a month now but only for 3/4 people so I don't think it will be an issue once you get onboard. Its clearly not sold out yet
