OCTOBER 30th & NOVEMBER 3rd Cruises (FE and Meets)

I never care much if it rains. In fact, a nice rain can be a lot of fun. That said, I don't care for wind. I have been watching the hurricane down by Mexico for a couple of days, and wonder if we could all collectively just blow a little to the south southwest, may be it directed on Cuba and completely weaken to nothing this weekend. (crossing my fingers)

Hi guys, I just caught up on everything. I've been in a tax seminar for the past 3 days. Where is the latest FE list? I have to print a new copy and finish that stuff by Thursday. The past 2 weeks have just flown by.

Morning everyone!

Well we had a fun evening at the ER last night with DS. After getting DS ready for bed he was running around the house burning the last of his energy when we hear a BANG and then the crying.:guilty:

He slipped on one of his books and hit the bridge of his nose on the edge of our tv stand. He got it good on the bridge of his nose and started bleeding out one nostral, so off to the ER we went. The last time we had to go to the ER he had to get two stitches on his lip. Luckily at his age there is no bone in his nose yet so no worry about a broken nose they told us at the ER. They cleaned him up and put glue on the cut on his nose. They had to tie him down to a board cause he is such a wiggler. They said the glue will come off on it's own in a few days and not to put any creams on it just let it heal.

Well there goes my hope of some cute pictures on the cruise. :goodvibes
DH says DS should be healed by cruise time. DH is a quick healer hope DS is too.

Wow, those trips to the ER are no fun! Glad it was nothing serious.

Poor baby!! This happened to us earlier this year. Ds 2 took a horrible fall (while having a tantrum, slamming his head forward) and hit one of those wooden activity blocks. He swelled all the way between his eyes across the nose. Ended up with two black eyes. Also went to the ER. It was awful.

Your pictures will still be great. Pictures are just a snapshot of what our lives are at that moment. You'll always remember your little boy enjoyed running around, having fun like most little boys ;). I'm sure it will look much better in a few days but I'm still sorry you all went through that.

Just glad to hear he's okay. Doesn't look too bad, I'm sure by this weekend it'll be much better and those pictures will be awesome!!!

I remember those crazy trips to the ER, they were never fun.

5

5 more things:

Mixology class
Champagne tasting class
Tequila tasting class
Martini tasting class
I'm sure I'll find some time for...The DOTD:)

I know we'll never make it to all those fun tasting classes, but they sure sound like a blast.

Good morning all,

My mother (Happytime) took a tumble this morning and broke her foot in two places. The doctors have said that she will need surgery, but do not know when this will be done. Please send some pixie dust her way that we can have the surgery before we leave on the cruise... Trips to the ER = No fun at all!

Oh yuck! Hope it all works out and she can get that surgery and start healing ASAP!. My mom-in-law broke her arm over a year ago. DD was with her, when they had to take her from the store to the hospital. Her surgery was pretty quick, so hoping it can happen that way for you too!

He still looks adorable! Your pictures will be a memory of this time, that you might forget it ever happened years from now. Sorry you had a trip to the ER. Never fun! I am thankful I have a girl...fewer trips to the ER so far. Although, she managed to get stitched in her chin a few years back from a flip flop incident and face into a door at Best Buy. It could have been sooooo much worse.

pixiedust: For all our cruise mates for safe travels (and smooth sailing at home before the trip) DP and I leave tomorrow morning for 4 nights at Wilderness Lodge before the trip- the last of the FE gifts will get back tonight and off we go- I can not believe how large the list is! Looking forward to Sunday!!! :cool1:

Quick question... does anyone else in our group homeschool or do virtual school?
Lily is homeschooled out of necessity this year because of her health, her homeschool online teacher is wanting her to do homework while on her MAW trip. I'm a little put off by it. I don't mind having her read or journal about her experience or even write when she gets back about what she learned during her trip, but to me, this is NOT the time to have her take tests or do reports. Math, science and social studies can wait a week.

So now I digress.... does Disney do anything educational that can be applied to school? How do you work out missing school with your children's teachers?

It seems our son in High School is being told not to do anything during the trip. And our first grader just has to take pictures of all the fun things she does and bring them back. To me it seems ridiculous that they would make Lily (who is the MAW kid!) do schoolwork.

Sorry for the rant... I'm just wanting some sort of justificiation in blowing off her teacher and making Lily enjoy her experience rather then do schoolwork the whole week we're gone.

That is what we would do! My son is home school, but the teacher is also coming (DW) :rotfl2:

The only home work my kids will do is:

Meteorology: Where is Hurricane Rina going?
Geography: Where is Castaway Key?
Social Studies: How many friends can he make in Oceaneer Club?
Math: How many drinks can Mom and Dad drink!!!!

I would say blow her teacher off... This is HER vacation...

That said, I would probably have her write (which is English) about her time and Disney does have educational youth activities (Science). Some of which I wish we could do...

I want to print out the FE list this afternoon so that I will have them available on our cabin door.

There are a few cabins still GTY. Do we have final numbers for these rooms?
  • GTY Missjen 2 4 Jen, Jim, Austin (b14), Liam (b11), Lily (g10 - MAW ), Bella (g7)
  • GTY 1 Nathan (b6 - MAW )
  • GTY Phototech11 2 2 Jason, Leigh Anna, Allie (20), Kate (10)

Please either PM me or post here those rooms if you know (or not know) so I can "call it" and print out the list.

My parent's room (Happytime, Mike & Terry #8162) will be changing. As soon as I can get their new room number, I will let you know.

Thanks,
Angela
