Good morning all. It's been a while since I've been on the boards. Our family has been a little busy this past month or so. We took a very long road trip into Canada (Niagara Falls)and thru Toronto, back into the states to the west across the northern states, down thru SD stopped at Mt Rushmore, Grand Canyon and a few places in between, then back east over Rt 66 (Rt 40) to NY. A week after we got back, the building my mothers business was in burned down. And now I am trying to get a little work done before heading down to Florida on Monday. It too me a while catching up with the reading.

Hey Stephanie, let me know when you are working next week. The kids and I will stop in to say Hello. Enjoy your RCI cruise. Don't forget to report back afterwards. I'm sure you will have lots of fun.

Hi everyone,
Just got finished with my family reunion this past weekend, so I figured I would now have time for other things. But my son informed us at the reunion he is getting married September 17th, so now we have that excitement to deal with. Of course with it being a son, I wont be having to do alot like I did with my daughters. I guess this has been planned for awhile but he forgot to tell us:confused3 LOL!! That is typical for him. :lmao:

Anyway for those who are curious I can tell you for the FE we have had cancellations and additions so our cabin count is 43 cabins.
3 of those are double cabins for larger families. So if your giving per cabin it would actually be 40 cabins. Hope that makes sense.??

I have a few loose ends to tie up from the reunion like sending out photos and a few letters to those who dont have computers then i should be popping in more often.

Hope all of you are doing well. Hi to any new people.

Kathy

Yes it was an amazing trip. I drove almost 6,000 miles. The main sights were Niagara Falls, Mall of America, Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, badlands, Mesa Verde state park with indian ruins, 4 corners, Grand Canyon, Cadillac Ranch, and a few things along the way from the Cars movie.

You will def need this cruise after all this.

I know we decided the semi-cutoff (meaning the newbies would not be guaranteed a FE gift) was going to be a month from cruise, right? Did we decide if we were going to split the FE when we reached a certain number of staterooms? :confused3 Thanks!

I thought we had agreed to keep one list and let people choose whether to give to all, some, or none.

To split the list opens up a load of questions as to who gets to be on one list or the other. Who chooses? What way do you split (sign up time, cabin category, deck, starboard/port, number kids, alphabetical, etc)? :confused3

Better to have one and be surprised, besides there is only one Santa list that counts. :rolleyes1

Well, I hate to do this, but we had to cancel this cruise. We canceled last night because there is just too much going on for me with the events I have this year, and we are now trying to buy a house on top of it all. We thought it best to cancel this cruise and reschedule for sometime next year. Sorry everyone! I hope you all have a great time!!!

Sorry you had to cancel. Best of luck with everything you have going on this year!

We are up in the air as well. My family is whining that we are going to WDW/MNSSHP prior to the cruise but we are not getting regular park tickets for those days. It is $650 for us to go to the park for 2 days!! That is ridiculous. We are undecided if we want to give up the parks to do the cruise or stick with the non-park WDW/DCL combo trip we have had planned since May 2010.

Giving to all, some or none is what concerns me. I would hate to have any child left out because the list grew too big so they were randomly chosen to skip. I know personally I'd feel that I must include all because leaving someone out would make me feel awful. Cost and transfer of FE gifts also becomes considerably larger. I know our friends on the August 16th cruise have 80 families. My friend is running it and said splitting the list was the best thing they did. If our list gets much bigger we might want to reconsider splitting.
