Holy cow that's a huge verandah! Is that 6 aft? 7 maybe? We're in 7130 I think. We have a navigators verandah (that's perfect for us honeymooners ) A verandah party would be way fun I think! AND I think we should do FE anyway just because it's fun & something to bond even this little group of ours.

Our cabin is aft on 6. I think doing the FE, regardless of how many of us is fine with us. Val

Champange Girls looks fun! I know I'd love to!

I'm so glad you like the dress. I LOVE it! If I can, I'll add a link to the back of the dress cause that was the deal breaker- when I saw the back with the veil & everything, I cried. Total "Say Yes To The Dress" moment. The bridesmaids are carrying watermelon gerbera daisies with black centers. Same as me minus the white orchids that will be added to my bouquet. The wedding will start at 1:00 p.m. Our ceremony is inside our church but the reception has been forced outside. So here's to praying for good weather.

At 00:07 the flowergirl will start down the aisle
At 00:31 the curtains will be pulled back & my dad & I will be at the top of the aisle & start to make our way down. It makes me cry every time..

Vince is pretty unsure of meeting "strangers" on our cruise. I'm trying to reassure him that it'll be fun & that the worst case senario would be that there will be 3 (or 4) chatty women & 3 (or 4) bored men.. Any tips? AND I CANNOT wait to get started on our FE!

I know what you mean about meeting strangers, my husband isn't in to it either. We don't join up for things like the scavenger hunts or family game shows on the cruises because of that. I try not to push and when we are going to meet people I try to make sure there is something else going on so he doesn't have to talk much, like a wine tasting or movie. Once he does start talking he goes into teacher mode and goes on and on.

Are you on early or late seating for dinner? Will Vince dress up for pirates night or halloween?

So now I am going straight to the point, and I'm going to copy and paste just in case...

3)not sure on the Champange Girls yet. my sister in-law and her family are traveling with us now, so I will have to play it by ear. Dennis wants to know what your hubby/hubby to be will be doing meanwhile....Dennis is a great "peoples person" he will get them going just fine....
4)we bought our pirates costumes at walmart...they were amazing!

6)any ideas for port adventures? we are planning on going all out,since we have an inside stateroom.

It is a large verandah and the cabin is larger too. It is just a 6A, not one of the fancy suites on 8. Have you every been in other cabins? We certainly never stayed in one but have gone into them when other DISboarders had them. Wow, beautiful wood, walk in closets, and the bathroom - OMG

Did you see " Say Yes to the Dress" last night? That one bride was in to buy a second dress, she ordered a $50,000 dress. That is almost a down payment on a house. And if it was anything like the first dress she bought - well - you can't buy good taste.

Let us know if you and your sister-in-law want to Champagne Girls with us. Is your sister-in-law going to DISboard with us? The more the better. When I have gone to past CG events one time my DH went to the gym, another time he was our photo taker. Shutters wanted $75 an hour PLUS you had to buy the pictures. I had suggested the guys do a mixology tasting while we did CG but so many of the ladies wanted to do it too that we did it as a separate event. One event we all came to a 2 bedroom suite of one of the girls and many of us brought a bottle of champagne. We just had a girl talk time. Last time I took a vote and most wanted a more organized event. DCL did a champagne tasting for us. We have over 50 ladies participating, almost everyone came in boas and tiaras or some of us had extras to give out. As an icebreaker, when people came in I taped the name of a Disney movie on their back. They had to introduce themselves to each other, ask one question about the movie, the answer could not include any of the words in the movie title. Then they would come to me and tell me their guess. If they got it right, I had small prizes. We designed a logo for the event and one of the ladies had magnets made which we gave out. After the tasting we all marched down to the lobby. DH took everyone's camera and stood one deck up and took pictures. Daisy Duck joined us. Great Fun

Tell us about them! I have costumes but wasn't sure if we would bring them or not. Some cruises about 25% of the people wear costumes others a lot less. I was thinking because this is a Halloween cruise maybe more will wear them.

Of course - we are doing late dining too. How many in your in-laws party? Are you linking your reservations?

We did a DCL excursion in PV, what was suppose to be villages and tequila making tour and tasting. The tequila part was very interesting but the rest was not very good. The tour guide spent a lot of time giving us his unsolicited views on the politics, religion, and other social issues. I asked if there were any historical sites from the Spanish mission era and he laid into me about how they had all been destroyed and why would I be interested in seeing anything from that time of horror. I didn't ask anything else. Someone else asked about the multitude of sick and starving dogs we saw everywhere and he yelled at her that she shouldn't care about darn dogs.The tour included lunch, it was horrible.

Did you make your FE yet? I have pictures of ours, it is not Disneyish, more nautical. I make the FE and Bob made the knots which I sewed onto it. I have a lot of pictures of other FEs if anyone needs ideas.

Hope you don't mind that this is so long. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. We have to take my cat back to the vets this afternoon. We went yesterday and they wanted us to watch him and bring him back. I am really worried about him.

as far as my sister in law goes(2 adults and one 2yr old daughter), well everything is up in the air still...the whole reason we booked this cruise was so her daughter and my daughter can start vacationing every year since we live so far from eachother (mn and fl) they are siding with the magic, while its cheaper for us to go on the wonder. so who knows....im still treating this cruise like an R&R cruise....
if i knew how to post a picture i would show you the pirate costumes we got...they were pretty cool!!!
we havent started our FE yet...dont even know how or where to start....theres nothing a glue gun cant do though...right? i really like your FE its original...it makes me think of Dubai for some reason. i like it alot!!!

so have you read about our stop at Mazatlan? theyve cancelled it...

so guess what?
sams has Disney gift cards...for every $100 gift cardyou buy, you get $10 free to spend at a disney store...
so we are paying most of our cruise with these gift cards, and spending those $10 gift cards onboard the disney shops...
i got the idea from these boards....just something to think about

Ok! I'm so glad to hear someone will get our men chatting. Vince is shy at first, but once he warms up he's a riot. I believe we are second seating too. If we aren't I'll make sure we change to it. We want to swim with dolphins in Cabo & that's all we're planning on right now. We've got our Disney Honeymoon Registry all set for anything we could want. All the money gets put on the giftcard & isn't designated really so we can use it to pay off the cruise too! Pretty stoked.. I'm on lunch from work & am so excited to hear that I'm not the only one distracted by our trip at work! Glad you like the website.. I'll be posting more later on I'm sure!

Nenis, we would all love to see your pictures of the pirate costumes. Unfortunately, you can’t just copy and paste pictures on the DISboards. You need to have pictures on a website, Flicker, SmugMug etc. and capture the URL. Right click on the picture and copy the “properties”. While in the DISboard quotes screen, click on the insert image (picture icon) and paste the properties in the ‘please enter the URL of your image:’ area.

Nenis, hope coming on the cruise works out for your sister-in-law and her family. Our friends are in the process of booking too.

I have read instructions for making an FE using just a glue gun. I also saw a really cute FE that used Disney shirts, it was really cute. Perhaps your daughter could help make it with you, putting on stickers or other trim you can just glue on. You might want to bring a couple plastic wiring ties to attach the FE to the holder. Unfortunately, a few people have reported their FE being stolen and the ties secure them.

I have read that a number of cruise companies have canceled their stops to Mazatlan too. I read it was due to local violence. However, I have not read about any tourists being involved. This might be resolved before October. We have seen military presence and even escorts for the cruise ship buses in a number of countries. I find it disquieting.

I agree our Navigators will be different but I thought it would give us an idea of what might be available and I wouldn’t be surprised if the schedule of when they do formal night etc. isn’t the same.

Thanks for the tip concerning the Disney Gift Cards at Sam’s. We don’t have a Sam’s close. I don’t know firsthand about the $10 gift cards, but I have read on a number of sites that they can only be used at the mall Disney Stores and not any of the stores neither at the parks nor on the ships. You might want to call and check. Also, have read that a lot of people have had trouble with activating them. Regardless, it sounds like a good deal and appreciate you passing it on to us.

Your costumes are great. I think I have almost convinced Bob to wear his. Now I have to drop some weight so I fit into mine.

I'm getting together a list of tips for taking a DCL cruise for my friend. Some of them are things we have learnt but most come from other DISboard friends. If you like I can post it here when I get it done.

Yes! Please post your list here too! That would be great! Last weekend we wrapped up our registries. I made sure to register for a photo frame with a mat to take with us to get signed by the characters!! I canNOT wait to get started on our FE.. I'm just waiting for things to slow down at work..

Ive already started on our FE...well, gathering ideas.
Im doing kermit the frog for my pouch, Dennis is doing a Pirates of the Caribbean theme (probably skulls) and our Alexandras will be a dress of minnie mouse with her legs and shoes hanging on the bottom.
I have NO IDEA how we are going to make a FE stay together with a glue gun. Hope it works....

You know, I never liked the idea of families wearing the same "family t-shirt", this year I'm warming up to the idea...what are your thoughts on this?

I wish I could get Vince to do it. I may have more luck later on if we have kids to do it with. Ideally we'd get the Incredibles jerseys they sold at CA Adventure a couple years back & have them numbered in age order.. I'm having a tough enough time trying to figure out a way to get him to wear a pirate anything. Maybe we'll wear our Buckaneers football jerseys.. Do you have a theme you want to go with for you shirts? I'm very curious now..

Stephanie, have you thought about "his/her" t-shirts? Ive seen funny ones, where the bride is dragging the groom by the shirt. Maybe you can do Disney couples like Daisy/Donald in their wedding gowns, or Wall-e/Eve (super romantic couple if you ask me)...
feel free to steal our idea, but Dennis and I are doing Marlin/Dory and(or) Kermit/Piggy t-shirts...(I love Kermit the Frog...you should see my desk at work!)
Another idea we have is a "villans" theme t-shirt...Daughter is Ursula (she loves little Mermaid) husband is doing Jaffar from Aladin, and I am doing one of the evil queens(not sure yet)....this is just a thought though.
