October 30, 2011 Wonder - A Haunting on the High Seas

Thanks so much!! I think we are good for now but always appreciate help. I plan to seriously think about the Champagne Girls now. Since there are so few of us I am very comfortable with having it in our cabin and large verandah. all are welcome, with or without your tiara or champagne. I am thinking we could do it Saturday, November 5, at 2:00. Does this conflict with anything? It is a sea day and casual day.

Val
This date/time works for me! Let me know if I can do anything to help with this event. I'm not much of a champagne drinker but it sounds like it will be great fun!! I'm flying into LAX and headed straight to the ship on Disney transport so I can't get any alcohol but I'll be glad to contribute money to the cause!:wizard:

Ditto, though I might be able to bring some small bottles... I will investigate. The tricky part is packing it in the luggage safely, and then being able to remove it quickly to place in my ship carry on...

I'll be able to make up for you ladies!! We're driving to port & can bring whatever alcohol we choose - and we barely drink!!! (I'm a 1/2 glass of wine drunk!!! FUN!!)
Will bring several bottles of champagne / wine specifically for sharing!
I'll be happy to take requests! What would you like for us to bring??? My favorite champagne is Domaine Chandon... You??

Well, as long as you are asking....;)
mine is perrier jouet rose..
which may be..cheaper on the boat...:lmao:
but..if you bring it....
I will pay for it of course...

I'll be bringing... Whatever I can find around Disneyland as we are there for the 6 days before the cruise and we will not have a car. I might have to resort to ordering one from room service and bringing it with me ;)

I'm not picky, and I will be happy to contribute $$ for the cause! I bet it will be much cheaper to bring it than buy it from DCL!

I know Val already posted a lot of info about the room but I can't find it right off hand, and I am wondering about the size of the fridge?

It isn't really a fridge, they call it a cool box. We find it keeps cool things cool. It is the about 2feet wide by 3feet high?? The usual mini frig. I ask the room host for ice and an ice bucket for chilling bottles of wine.

I've read somewhere that they have gone in and put actual mini fridges on the Wonder at the last dry dock. Or perhaps it was the Magic. Can't really remember, honestly, but I got the impression that mini fridges will eventually be in all staterooms on both ships.

MR cruise 10/9/11 - Change

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My in-laws just checked in and were made aware that due to a storm / weather there has been a change to the MR intinerary.

Sunday - Sea
Monday - Sea
Tuesday - Cabo
Wed. - Cabo
Thurs - Sea
Friday - Sea
Saturday - Ensenada
Sunday - Home

I am currently scrambling to try and find something nice for them to do in Ensenada, you future MR cruisers pay want to get a back up plan on the burners just in case one of your stops are replaced with Ensenada.

------
If due to weather we end up in Ensenada I will do what we learned a couple of years ago when on a cruise to there. The best thing to do in Ensenada is stay on the ship.

Thanks for the advise! However, for me and mine, we are looking forward to hanging out on the ship for the majority of time we are in port! Rest and relaxation with Mickey!! :mickeyjum Only 20 more days to go - can't wait!!:hourglass

Ok, so we're driving through the Long Beach area and, oh look, there's Terminal Island, oh look, there's the Vincent Thomas Bridge. As we're driving over the top of the bridge I look to my left and I hear a scream from inside the car. (Oh wait, that was me! :lmao:) There it is, I yell!!! :yay: The Wonder was sitting in port waiting to sail. We got off on Harbor Blvd, went straight through the intersection, turned right and pulled into Berth 93. It was about 3:30 and we drove through the drop off area but at the CM were already on board so we couldn't get an Itinerary. We talked to one of the security guys and told him we were sailing in 3 weeks. He said normally, they open the doors around 9:30 - 10:00 depends on the day. As we drove home we crossed the bridge again and we could see everyone on the deck doing the Life Boat Drill. It was so exciting!

Ok, now my girls want to get to port at 9:00am on the 30th. Yeah, like we'll be packed and ready. Hopefully today will motivate them to start packing early.

20 days and counting!

I just added www.weather.com to my list of favorites and will check it daily for the next 3 weeks. popcorn:: It says highs in the 90's for Cabo and Puerto Vallarta for the next 10 days with thunderstorms all week and tropical storm watches for Tuesday and Thursday in Puerto Vallarta. Hope it stays warm but not to breezy.

Do they keep the same activities for Cabo if the days change? :confused3

To finalize the FE list:

Jeffrey orl fla & Smffms are you still with us?

Cruisemaniac2011 & Mumtotwoprincesses are you still in a lifeboat or have you been assigned a cabin number yet?

Those of you with children, you may wish to add a D or S by their name and age on the spreadsheet.

Thanks

Yep, we're still stowaways in the lifeboats! ...and I am crushed at the lack of sympathy from my fellow cruisers! (justkidding!) Anyone willing to share a room? :lmao:

Hey all! We're still coming to Mixology! futureDH is super excited. :) Can't believe it's almost here! So sorry I've been off for a while. Turns out wedding planning is crazy! Can't wait to meet you all in person!

By the way. Are we still to host a white board on our door for group communications while onboard?

AND I just finished our FE! Take that! LOL! I've never really sewn anything really other than reattaching a button or a popped hem. Our FE has been constructed out of a pair of pajama pants & a reusable grocery sack! Vince wanted an FE that was pretty original & something that we could make at home. By "we" he meant me. But at least he buys me chocolate & makes Jo Ann's runs with me! :) Can't wait for ya'll to see it!
