stampinshauna - Seasoned cruisers we are. However, we have not been on a lot of excursions. We like to check the places out a bit on our own and do some other things. I have been on the regatta and it was a blast. It was great when the race was over because sailing one of those big boats was so different than sailing the smaller sloops. It was a great time. I highly recommend it but I think it would be better if you had your own group. Being thrown in with other people was okay but it would have been even more fun than it was with Beano and likes of you silly people. Next time we should plan ahead for a big group to go together. I am not big on the tours right now but if you go and enjoy it let me know. Maybe i will do it next time.

My 2 cents.

We have finally decided...I think :confused3 To just rent a car on St Marten and tour on our own. We seem to have alot of time on this Island unlike St Thomas so we are just going to do our own thing. $70.00 for the rental car for the day. Not sure what gas prices are like.

We are doing the Sunny Liston tour on St Thomas, that I am very excited about, I just hope we get back to the ship in time...not sure how fast I can swim.... :rotfl: I am upset about missing the bushwhackers, but this tour seems to good to pass up.

Thanks for the Update on Survivor Trish.

Beano: Don't forget that the slogan is "Outwit, outplay, Outlast" so there could be a case made for the lying under "outwit". Also, have you seen the thread that says RCL is better than DCL??? I was surprised that you didn't give them a what for!!!!!

I agree with everyone about Big Brother. I hope Janelle wins. If anyone has a spoiler and knows already who won HOH would you PM me???? Yes, I was also the person who tried to find my christmas presents early too....

Still no FL resident rates :(
I'm being told that since it is getting so close they will likely not open them up, although I have seen it happen 30 days before cruises before. I'm still holding out hope.

We may end up renting a car on St. Martin again also. Last time we got one through Best Rate Rentals for $45 (they asked $50 but gave me a 10% discount) We got something like a Toyota Corolla I think. You can get around the entire island in barely over 30-45 minutes if you drive it straight through. It's very small. We spent some time visiting each of the beaches, going all over the island. The guy working the counter gave us a map and marked some places we should go to and we did. We found a nice cafe on the beach to sit down and have lunch (we were the only ones there, it was very peaceful and romantic.)

More than likely we will do that again.

Is anyone planning to take a ferry over to St. John or Water Island?
I'm thinking of canceling our excursion and just paying it by ear. DH LOVED Trunk Bay when we were there for our Honeymoon ( Oh Sooooo many Moons ago). It sure would save some $$$ and DD could see where we spend our first vacation together  . Ok really it's about the $$$ :rotfl: .

We aren't going to Trunk Bay this time, but last year we did that on our own. I really enjoyed it (and it is so beautiful.)

Just make sure to budget enough for the taxi to the ferry, the ferry, the taxi to Trunk Bay and the admission to Trunk Bay. Then the taxi, ferry and taxi back. :) We were not prepared for all of that and had the credit card, but needed cash. We had just enough cash on us for what we needed to do (but no money for the snacks on Trunk Bay!)

It appears that we are now out of categorys 10, 11 and 12 on our cruise. I wonder if they will start bumping people up from those rooms now?

(hope this works) I threw this together for a magnet. Sorry if it's big.

Hey all:

Cheri: Love the magnet!! I gotta get those started!

DH has begun to complain...."Everyday when I come home from work there are new clothes in the house. And none of them are for me." DUH. :rotfl:

Men, I think, do not truly appreciate "the perfect shoe". Or "great jeans".
God love 'em. They try.

Any great weekend plans out there?

Travel agent rates opened and closed within an hour and a half today. Also, I was advised that it was only for verandah cabins. The inside and ocean view rooms are pretty full (translation--likely sold out)

Doesn't look good for any FL resident rates to open. They generally open at the same time as TA rates or before.

I like your magnet Cheri - very pretty! How are you going to put it together? Any suggestions on materials to use and what-not would be greatly appreciated by this very uncreative person. :)

In my opinion, it would seem like a good chance for upgrades if there are only verandahs left with all of the 10, 11, and 12's gone. Good luck, guys!!! :wizard::goodvibes

St. John is a beautiful island. If you have the chance, I'd definitely go. We've had such a great experience there - we've rented a boat and putted around ourselves - buoyed off to snorkle. Fantastic creatures in the water. Sand sharks, nurse sharks, turtles, huge starfish, manta rays, gorgeous colorful fish. It really is worth the trip.

OK, last one (for now) how come they are so big??? I created them in Powerpoint and saved them as a .jpg file. :confused3 I'm going to use magnetic paper or cardstock and use magnets from Office Depot. I tell ya' it's a lot more fun doing the 20 door signs I've done. There's lot's more room.

Oh man wouldn't that be great!!!! Because we are in a guaranteed 12. I have a question for everyone though. Since we have 2 rooms that are tied together reservation wise, one for us, one for Miss Judit and they are both guaranteed 12's, are we less likely to get an upgrade because Miss Judit is the only person in her room and they would never upgrade just one person in a room and they won't upgrade one room without the other, or would perhaps me, DH, and DD get an upgrade on our own, even though the ressies are linked?

Any of you wonderful experts have an opinion or know???? Because I am thinking having the two tied makes our chances slimmer...... :guilty:

for the door magnets we are using an actual roll of of magnet we got at ac moore craft store or maybe michaels

Trish,
I bought magnetic paper at Walmart. You use it as you would any other paper in your PC. I haven't used it yet. So, I'm not sure if it will work with all printers but I'll let you know when I print my magnets.
