Casual Nights: Wear a golf shirt or a dress shirt w/o the tie.

How about a Tommy Bahama type shirt for casual night?

Do not get a massage or facial when you are going to go the beach or the pool afterwards. Not a good idea. It is a sunburn waiting to happen. The Castaway Cay cabana massage rocks but you can't really go snorkeling after you are done. So think about this one.

I also heard from someone that usually after massages they tell you to drink lots of water..is that true?

Does anyone know for sure if it is 12:01 AM Est or PST we can start making ressies.

I phoned DCL today and they told me EST but there is another thread on this board that is saying PST. Anyone know for sure.

Thanks

Kim

Pacha,
Tropical shirts are just fine. Beano and I will be in them all week. Sorry I didn't mention those before.

Also true about the water drinking thing after the massage. By the way, about the spa. For couples, the mud bath thing is the best thing going. I highly recommend that one. For $83 or so, how could you go wrong for 2 people to get hooked up for a whole hour?

Cheri,

That was well said. Definitely good to point that out.

Why wait to make your ressies? You can do them right now on line!!!!

No apparently because I am a first timer I have to wait until 75 days out which is Aug 15th at 12:01 but there seems to be some confusion on EST or PST......So that makes a difference for me of only having to stay up another 40 min or so or having to get up at 3:01 AM....yikes.....

Kim

What ressies are you trying to get. I could have gotten them for you and switched them to you on the cruise. I should have thought of that sooner.

Oh thank you for the offer. We didn't want much just parasailing, 1 well being massage and the mud bath thing. I am sure these are all pretty popular which is why I am falling asleep at my computer.

I am just going to hope it is 12:01 AM EST. :goodvibes

We are also doing the Tram for Bushwackers but figure if I don't get it booked through Disney I can just go to the place directly.

Only 25 more mins....hopefully ;)

Oh great, thanks. That makes me feel better. :flower:

Time will tell, I can't believe I can not find anything on the DCL website that says when you can start making ressies. My fingers are crossed.

BTW they where great tips you listed earlier.

Is it October yet.!!!!

Had to go back a few pages to find the info about Palo High Tea. It looks like SueEllen was in charge of that. Might want to send a PM to her. If you guys want that list on the first page, let me know and I'll get to work on that with SueEllen's help. From what I gathered, it was Sunday at 3:30 pm??? Does that sound right?

I just checked on DCL and those excursions and spa treatments you want are listed as still available. Let's hope it's 12:01 EST so you can get some rest!!:goodvibes

Thanks for checking that out Trish.

Well unfortunatley it must be PST. Gonna hit the sack for 3 hours.

Let you know how I do tomorrow.

Kim

Two things..okay maybe 3 it's 4:22 a.m. and I'm tired...

I booked a couples cabana massage for Castaway Cay. Anyone done this and is it worth it? It will be DH's first massage and I was thinking it would be a pretty cool way to start the day.

I could only book Palo for 2 people for dinner and I need 4. Think I'll be able to get it changed on board?

Hhhmm...thinking...thinking...okay that's it.

No wait. I was able to book brunch at Palo also.

Did I miss anything important?

Kim? What is the tram at Bushwackers?

Good Morning everyone!!!!!

After NO sleep last night I got almost everything I wanted. The only thing I didn't get was the full body massage for DH, right now he will settle for 1/2 and hope for a cancellation or we can get something when we get on the ship.

OK, now time to drag my tired butt to work.

The Tram and Bushwackers can be found at www.paradisepointtramway.com
I hope that is the right one. It looks beautiful. I think you can just go and get the tram but since they where offering it as a excursion through Disney I figured I would book it that way. Same price I think. I know that isn't much help but I know there are some who can answer that question better then I.

Have a great day all!!!

I am not a big fan of starting the day with a massage when you are planning on hanging out in the sun. Your skin will be really receptive to sunburn afterwards. If you want to go snorkeling at CC, that will also be a tough one. I am not trying to discourage you from getting a massage. You just might not want to do it at CC in the morning.

If you have 4 people in your group that you need to book for Palo, have the other couple book theirs for the same day and then link them on board. There should be no problem with that.

I'm glad you guys were able to get most of what you wanted. I'm sure that you can add 2 more to your Palo Ressie when you're onboard. The most important thing was to get a ressie in the first place - adding a couple people on is the easy part.

I thought it would be important since everyone's finalizing their ressies to make sure we got the ToT'g time figured out for Monday 10/31. Here's the pros/cons to each of the times:

10:00 - probably the earliest we could start. Pro: Get's it out of the way before lunch. Gives the kids a chance to get to know each other better and hopefully, most of them will want to hang out together afterwards and they have an entire day to do that. The kids are fresh and excited - will be a great way to start their day. Con: Some of us have brunch planned 10/11ish.

11:00 - Pro: Getting it done early, but still finishing before the Swwwwwuite party. Con: It's pretty much right in the middle of lunch and/or we're cutting into possible nap times for the littler folks.

12-3 are out because it conflicts with the party. Realistically, I don't think if we start at 12, we could all be done by 1 (including dropping kids off at their respective places).

3:30 - probably the latest we could start. Pro: It's not conflicting with morning plans. Cons: Well, there are lots that I see. I'll list them in order if greater con to lesser con. (1) We'll be giving a bag of candy to kids right before dinner - don't think the chocolate eating kids would sit still much during early seating, (2) Parents may be tipsy after the party, (3) It'll be hectic for some of us to round up our kids after the party, get them dressed and ready for the ToT'g, and meet up, (4) The party may still be going on at 3:30 (RonnieJo & Beano will probably have to kick us out of their room).

Later than that you get into conflicts with early seating and then late seating. Late seating ends around 9:45-10ish and that's when the costume party takes place, I believe.

There you have it. I'm heavily leaning toward 10 with the reason being the kids will be fresh and excited - a great way to start their day.

Feel free to chime in, give alternate options, whatever. We're in this together. Also, some of the jobs I see that we would need to have done are:

(1) If someone wants to make the paddles - I'm thinking we need 8 (2 per group). Paint stirrer sticks with poster board cut-out mickey heads sounds neat. They can be colored or not - up to the creative mind making them.

(2) The door magnets - I believe Bobby and Cindy offered. I think it would be a fantastic idea to have these on the ToT'g doors especially.

(3) Group leaders - I'll be one, but we need 7 more people. I figured I would help take a group of kids around and hubby will wait in the room.

I'll make the map to the ToT'g rooms for each group. Figured we would start by meeting in the atrium and ending there also. That way the kids who want to hang together can do so from there. We can keep families together if you wish or have the older kids in their own group.

Things we need to know:

(A) Time to start
(B) Paddle maker
(C) Door Magnets
(D) Group Leaders
(E) Families together or older kids in their own group

Thanks a million. :) Have a great week!!!

Here's a link to a really LONG list of cruise do's/don'ts and tips/tricks - it is really long and some of them don't apply to DCL (such as Casino items), but it had some really interesting stuff in it.

CRUISING TIPS AND TRICKS

Trishy I would love to be a group leader ! I love kids ! I can probably do the posterboard signs too. I don't think we have to many in the group that are nap age, and be sure we set a cut off date.

luckey :pug:
