October 27, 2011 ~ Dream 3 Night

Melanie, so sorry to hear about your foot, but I am glad you will still be cruising with us. Hope you are on the mend soon.
Thanks so much. I am still planning on having the most fun I can with my boot on!:rotfl:

I just called DCL and no special activities, menus, etc for our cruise :(
I really don't understand why they are doing Halloween stuff all month on the classic ships but nothing on the Dream.:confused3

I have a 15 year old son, so that would be great, but it is a suprise. He doesnt know he is going anywhere. We are just going to pick him up from school and get on a plane.

Sorry, but I am sure we can introduce them when we get on board.

Wow thats cool. I dont know how you do it. I think I'm driving my kids crazy talking about the cruise everyday, lol.

Meeting on the ship will work well too. Maybe we'll do a meet up sometime the first day.

I dont know either...I am a bit bummed as I know my little god daughter would have gotten a kick out of the trick or treating. My boys are too old, but the special menus sounded cool :confused3

:cool1: Finally done with putting together our FE gifts!! Now, I need to do :laundy: and pack ---uugghh!! Wish there was a packing fairy!!pixiedust:

Also wanted to let you know that when you get your gift from The Downey Family, if you need or want extras we have plenty--Just let us know!!

So just to make sure I have this correct, the master room list will be on the door of stateroom # 5538??? But unless someone upgrades at the port, then it should all stay as it is now, right? TIA!

OMG, we will be on the Dream next week! And I am so NOT ready.

Correct.. I will have both copies of the final list (as of next Monday or Tuesdays, when I print them out) on our door (5538) for folks.

There will also be a Master list there for updating if anyone gets a at-port upgrade or is moved (for some reason). So, i you take a hard copy make sure you have check it against any changes on the door. :thumbsup2

Not ready??? You make me worry I'm forgeting to do something. I know when we went in May we pretty much stayed in our bathing suits & didnt wear all we brought. We are planning on packing much lighter! But for real what is all you have to get done... I dont wanna forget anything!:scared1:

DS has to get his hair cut.
I need a hair cut, but I don't think I'll have time.
I have to remember to buy a new battery for my camera.
I have nothing to wear, so clothes shopping. I put it off until the last minute hoping I'd lose some weight. :sad2:
My house has to be spottless before we leave because my mom will be coming to feed our cat.
I have to order and pick up contacts for DS and myself.
Need to remember to get one dollar bills for tipping.
So many more things that I can't even think of right now. :scared1:

Just the usual pre-vacation craziness for me.

Gee, we aren't flying until next Wednesday.. I don't think I'll pack our suitcases until Tuesday evening... Holly did get our FEs packed into box that will go into the suitcases, and has pulled our usual misc cruise items together. Never been much a travel worrier until the day before (when I can the airport shuttle folks, pack, etc).

On the side note,- 9 days until we leave!!!!!!! :dance3: :cheer2:

LOL you'll get it all done, we moms always do:rotfl:
I think I did get crazy about packing last trip but I've got my list from last time so I think I'll do a little packing Sunday & finish on Tuesday with the clothes. Obviously living in Florida you know we wear these summer clothes almost year round so thats last. Plus when my dogs see suitcases they go NUTS, so I dont wanna create craziness until I have to. :yay:
Hoping to get to bed early Wednesday night so I can get on the road at 6:30am. What time are you guys heading out? How far away are ya'll?

I know I have mentioned this here before, but I am the biggest pre-planner so that I can KNOW things are taken care of and relax on vacation, so...I am already packed:goodvibes I am so proud of myself too. I was able to get 4 people's "stuff" into 2 carry-ons and the other 2 were used for pirate costumes and FE gifts(all mine gifts barely fit into gallon ziplock bags so I really had to be creative with my packing for sp many of them!). I am happy to fly without having to check any bags. Now I just have to wait for my passport. I filled out the papers in early August and have had to re-send my photo 3 times! I hope to have it this week or I'll have to fork out another $60 to do it express.

Can't wait to meet you all...which reminds me-have we set a meeting time and place?

We've never cruised so I have a question for you guys. Some of my FEs are breakable. Do I need to carry them on the ship myself or is it ok to leave them in my luggage? I wasn't sure if DCL was as rough on luggage as the airports are? (We are driving.) Thanks!

It rained all day yesterday so I didn't go out and get anything done. That's kind of why I was freaking out. ;) It's supposed to rain today and tomorrow too. :sad2: Guess I just have to suck it up and get wet.

Yes, it's hard for us Floridians to get the clothes packing done ahead of time when we still have to wear the clothes were taking.

We live about 2 hours south of PC. We probably won't leave our house until 9am Thursday. Still haven't decided if we're going to do Park 'n Cruise or just park at the terminal. What are you doing?

Someone mentioned organizing a meet, but I don't remember who it was or if anything was ever planned.

Oh, definitely put anything breakable in your carry-on. They are really rough with the bags and stack them up high on top of each other.

I can't wait! :yay: So excited and I still have to pack 1/2 of our clothes and misc. items. Just like Sandy, I don't think I will have time to get everything done. If we forget something, oh well. It's only a few days, I'm not doing a B2B. I just wish I was already on the ship :)

We are parking at the terminal. I like that we are right there & have secured covered parking. Did you guys decide yet?

What's Park N Cruise?

It is a local company that allows you to park in their lot and takes you by shuttle bus to the terminal. I have read several posts about it, but can't remember the exact charge. It is a great deal cheaper than parking at the terminal, but I am a little worried about safety issues so we will just pay the extra charges this time (first time cruisers) and park at the terminal.

Sounds alot like my "to do" list. Went to eye Dr today for my new contacts and glasses. He was nice enough to give me two pairs of sample contacts for the cruise just in case my order isn't here by then. Have yet to make a hair appointment, so I may have ugly hair the entire trip. Oh well. Really HAVE to clean my house as my mother will also come by to check on things and feed the dog. Our bags are halfway packed and I plan to finish up this weekend. Also, plan to do two weeks worth of homework so I don't have to worry about Grad school on the cruise.
