If you want some excitement, go to the last few pages of the Oct 6th cruise. Then go to the 13th. Aaaah, not much longer til it's us!

I did got over and check out those cruise threads. I believe it was the Oct 6th where someone posted "Hope we get to 110 pages". :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Three more weeks! :cool1: Three more weeks! Can I say it again? Three more weeks!!! :cheer2: :yay: :woohoo:

I was starting to get a little freaked out by everyone and their packing so I pulled out my suitcase and my husband's suitcase last night and starting organzing some of our clothes. I had already started some packing for both of our daughters.

I am at work today (don't really want to be here) but have lots to do before vacation time. Plus the extra money will come in handy!

Ladies and Gents, having been here from the first, I can say that you are all a wonderful group of DISer. I have sailed with a lovely bunch in the past, and look forward to this wonderful group.

I couldn't have said it any better PJ. We do have a great group and I am beyond excited about meeting everyone. Enjoying dinner with a group of FRIENDS, having some ADULT fun .... heck, you guys know more about me and my life that some of my family knows! Well, I am officially starting to pull the suitcase out today too, but it's to UNPACK from the trip to see my Dad and start to repack for our cruise!!

Paula, 3 weeks from today, during this exact hour... we will be arriving at the Port!! :woohoo: :yay: :cool1: :dance3: :cheer2:

Chris.... I can't believe you are down to less than a week. YOU MUST call me from ship when you first get on....
CAN WE GO YET?????????????

Any of you re-cruisers have any advice for sea-sickness? Did you take anything before you sailed just in case or just went on board then took something if necessary.

I'm doing the drug store/beauty supply run this weekend and trying to decide between the ginger capsules, seabands, bonine, or dramamine.

I'm hearing positives and negatives about all. Me and the kids don't normally get motion sickness (of course, I've never been on a boat a little tipsy or with a hangover). Our cabin is midship on deck 6 which should mean less movement.

Lori,
I have done the seabands, no go. Done the bonine, put me to sleep for most of the cruise, it is labeled non-drowsy, but then so does neocitron. I did the Gravol Ginger Lozenges and had a great cruise, only bad day was a sea day that I did take the second dose.

Myth Busters did a test and aside from dramamine, ginger capsules worked best.

I have had a few too many cocktails tonight so I will try to keep my posting to a minimum.

I second that
Can't wait to meet everyone

of our whole crew DH, Tom, and DD Kerry are the ones prone to motion sickness.... we have in the past and will continue the following:

the night before the cruise we all take a Walmart Generic Dramamine at bedtime, we take another one at 10am when we arrive at the port (we also take Airborne then too). Then every morning during the cruise we take Airborne OR Emergn-C vitamin type drink and every night at bedtime we take the Walmart Generic Dramamine (I think the whole bottle costs $3!).... the kids dr said they can take 1/2 a pill, dh and I take a whole pill. We do this the night we get home and then seem to be fine that next day and stop then.

we bring ginger cookies and ginger losenges, DD has only gotten sick once using this formula and it was a rough sea day that she did NOT get her Walmart Generic Dramamine the night before because she had already fallen asleep and we carried her back to the room that way and did not wake her to give her the meds. I won't make that mistake this cruise.

HTH!

YEP thats right..........
I am officially going to be leaving here on Wednesday the 24th after work...........Basically just because i cant stand it any more!!! I WANT TO GO!!!!!!

Already put in my request to get off early early early........so everything will be in the car packed any ready to go and we will leave Wednesday for ORLANDO......the only real pluses to this are........

1. We get to leave on vacation about 16 hours erlier than we originally planned!!!!

2. We can have a nice sit down dinner soemwhere at DTD before we retire to our room!!!!!!!!!!!

3. AND we can sleep in on Thursday instead of getting up early int eh morning to do the drive!!!!!!!!!!!!

SOUNDS LIKE A GREAT PLAN TO ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any body going to be in Orlando on Wednesday the 24th want to have dinner????

we are leaving Pennsylvania on the 24th flying down to Sanford and then we rented a vaction house till Saturday..we are going to Seaworld on 25th and Discovery Cove on 26th..we have 7 day access to Seaworld and depending on how everyone feels may go there after we settle in on 24th..also..they are only opened till 7pm..we also will be in Orlando for 2 days after cruise and may do WDW

Kimmielee . . . Did you get my earlier message about the two sets of journal pages for my daughters?

Georgina

Yes, I did... I'm working on all of the orders!

Tia - 2 cruises and this is what worked for me. I get car sickness, let alone crazy sea sickness! I start taking dramamine the NIGHT before we sail. THEN... every single morning when I get up and then again with dinner. So - twice a day, each day on the ship. I never felt any sea sickness on the 2 cruises I've done in the past. Noah was fine with taking nothing!

Now, someone tell me about the airborne and emergen c stuff?:confused3

We don't arrive until Thursday morning. Have fun with your extra day!

I've tried AIRBORNE and I don't think it really did anything for me or helped me. Some people I know have used it and they think it helps them. It is like 3000% vitamin C...so you may feel a little boost from it but I don't think it'll stop you from getting sick. Just be careful what you touch and wash hands often.

I understand they have GINGER ALE on board too so it might help to drink that as well.
I always found going to the upper decks helped me feel better. Fresh air too... :upsidedow

A ginger ale, and a teak deck chair on deck four. And all is well, honest worked for me the last cruise, even in my formal dress.
