Here are Halloween Dates....
Halloween on the High Seas Cruises: ....
• Disney Fantasy: Sept. 20 – Oct. 25, 2014 .....
I interpret this as we WILL have Halloween events on our sailing. These are the ship SAIL DATES that festivities will occur, not the cut off, literal date.
Disney knows folks booked the actual Holiday to experience the activities. DCL would not cut off celebrations during the sailing that occurs during the actual date.
Over the last few years DCL has expanded the sailings that celebrate Holidays. In the past, activities were only on two sailings.
HTH settle some concerns.![]()
My 2014 has been changing by the hour since I got back from Fiji. I booked this cruise for the exact same reason. Samantha said specifically that she has already been DCL for Xmas and now she was wanting to go for Halloween. As it is, I am also booked on southern caribbean Oct 4th with my oldest. Then I saw your post and realized Oct 4th does have the Halloween. So, I told Sam last night about it not having Halloween on this cruise, but she said she wants to hang out with her new friend she has met (Stephanie) so she doesn't want to change.
I am so glad I found this group willing to step up and plan things. While I think it is insane that DCL stopped the festivities, I am really happy to be sailing with a group of people this organized and amazing. We will celebrate Halloween despite DCL and their crazy rules.![]()

.....Is this something new this year that activities are now included in these earlier sailings? Just curious

Yes. DCL actually started expanding the sailings last year. I guess it was a success, as it appears to me they have expanded holiday festivities to even more sailings this year. Also the Xmas decor use to show up around Thanksgiving, and IIRC those decorations are up earlier too.
Hello fellow cruisers,
Darcy (DLW8) and I ( mouseears1) have volunteered once again to set up the mixology class for our group and we would love, love, love to have another cruiser in assisting with this process. This needs to be set up close to the sailing date. I believe Darcy and I did this about 1 month in advance. Darcy set up the invite, and maintained the ever changing sign up sheet and I coordinated with shoreside concierge and the ships concierge for about 2 weeks till we had the final list and the final venue to which it would be held. All three of us need to brainstorm with some ideas on how we want this one to run! I will volunteer to work with ship's concierge directly for they know us from when we stayed in the Walt Disney Suite on our last cruiseAlso, I can pull all the strings needed...That's my specialty

Can anyone offer advise. Is it better to have a port or starboard side for your room? Also disneyworld before or after the cruise?
Thanks, julie
Wow. That was a lot to read!!!
We're so excited to be joining you all on this cruise!I am Jennifer, my husband is Kevin, and our daughter is Tessa (7). It will be our third Disney cruise, but our first time on the Fantasy and our first time sailing over Halloween! So much to look forward too!
Joining us on this cruise will be my cousin, her dh and their 5 year old dd. We've been telling them about Disney cruises for a long time....and then on Thanksgiving, over many, many glasses of wine, we found ourselves with tablets in hand, booking this trip!
Cannot wait! I should probably get past this holiday stuff first, though.
Looking forward to getting even more excited with your help!
So, just a few days ago I posted about how we were definitely in for this cruise. Fast forward a couple days when the 2014-2015 school calendar was provided, and due to some differences from what we normally have....we have moved our sail date.
I am SO sad not to sail with everyone here (especially those of you that I met last year) but I had to capitalize on taking the kids out of school for fewer days. And the Halloween cruise would have been the last week of the quarter, which means LOTS of test that they would miss.
Our new cruise is the same itinerary, so I will be looking to you guys for some help on excursions to choose!
Will miss you all....![]()
Naming the cruise?
Every other cruise I am on for 2014 is naming their cruise. I wasn't sure if the Spook-tacular Fantasy Cruise was our name or if this crowd doesn't do that.
It doesn't matter to me, I was more curious than anything.
....We're so excited to be joining you all on this cruise!....
Where did you see "Spook-tacular Fantasy Cruise"?
I kind of like the name/graphic, albeit the wrong ship class on the first post here, shown on the Tshirt graphic. http://disboards.com/showpost.php?p=47499453&postcount=1
"The Not So Scary Halloween Cruise" This has some significance to us, as we WERE scared on our last Halloween sailing. Seriously. So we sort of liked that name, but we are flexible.![]()
I guess it does sounds corny if you haven't been scared, or lack kids.
Our last cruise meet got in a fury about the name. Lol.![]()
But I still look forward to the discussion. Perhaps we should vote. Or perhaps Ron or Jen should decide.

Hi! We just booked this cruise this week while on the fantasy. It will be myself, Amy, my husband, Phil, our 8 year old Gabe in room 7098 and my dad, Jim in room 7100. We are celebrating my birthday which is 10/31 and we are looking forward to all the not so scary party type activities! Our home state is Florida. Looking forward to being added to the roll call and meeting everyone!
