October 25, 2014 Fantasy Western "The Not So Scary Halloween Cruise 2014" Part 2

Hi, everyone.

I am new to these boards and to cruising. I booked a VGT room on this cruise yesterday for my 9yo son and me. Does anyone know when DCL will release my room?

I'd really like to go deep sea fishing one day as an excursion but there aren't any official cruise activities of this type. Any suggestions for third party fishing outfits or should I wait until we're onboard?

Last question (for now)--the itinerary says that we arrive back at Port Canaveral at 730am on Sat Nov 1. I am scheduled to take Disney transportation to the airport--what is a realistic time that I will arrive at the airport?

Thanks in advance!

as for Deep see fishing check with Tripadvisor..

rooms will be finalized as late as two weeks prior to sail, but some are getting assigned already keep checking :yay:

Humm for transport back to airport Call dcl they can best answer that

welcome:cool1::wave2:

If you have a Google account, you can upload the spreadsheet onto your Google Drive (aka Google Docs) and you can share the link to it on here.

I am just back from the Aug 30th cruise and then a week at Disney (I got back yesterday) and the mods took down all of my google docs. You can try to post google docs here, but I had a bunch on the first page when I left and they were all off when I got back.

We would love to join a FE group is there anyway we could still sign up for it.
Thanks
Michelle

Welcome :cool1:

I'm currently trying to find a link, if one exists to a last minute FE.

Stay tuned.

ETA; Is anyone of the regulars aware of a "Last Minute FE" ? ? ? Link or page? ? ?

Hi everyone! I just booked this cruise today and am very excited about it. We sailed the Wonder in Sept 2012 and fell in love, We have been watching VGT rates for several weeks now and finally just pulled the trigger, no turning back now . I have to admit, I have not read through the entire 2 part thread, I more skimmed through the first and last pages of each. So...

Is there a FB group to join up with?
Is there a last minute FE group to join? (I know it's pretty last minute but I have some great ideas that if I'm able to join, will not disappoint)

If we can't post links to the thread, I can be reached by PM on here or at nursenonnie@outlook.com

I would appreaciate any and all info! Thanks :)

..... but realized I didn't answer Bear's question.

Halloween ToT

I am hoping to get some feedback from someone who has cruised the Fantasy multiple times before I finalize them. Is that someone you? ....

Possibly.... ;)

I will send a PM regarding locations aboard the Fantasy for ToT locales.

Thanks for the responses here. :)

Thanks for your helpful link to the last minute FE group for the Fantasy Oct 25 2014 sail I just asked to join the group on your Facebook page

...... I just asked to join the group on your Facebook page ......

What link. Please share it here if possible. Of course if it is a FB link it will be deleted. We need an interface, between FB (last minute FE), and the Dis boards last minute FE.

I feel that could be a Goggle doc perhaps ? ? ?, or whatnot.

Any idea what local times we will be in each port? ....

I concur with others that DCL tries to maintain local port time in line with ship time. At least on our itinerary. :thumbsup2

It sure does make life/time easier for all, if they do so.

DCL will normally try to align ship time with local port time.
However, there are always the exceptions and such. Also USA Daylight Time, which no one observes except the USA. So .... it can complicate things.

What's reassuring is the locals/tour operators know the ship schedules and such.
Also when you debark, pay attention to the signs indicating the ship and local time and how they may affect your boarding limitations. ;)
But that won't help if you are sleeping while the excursion is leaving. :lmao:

Time Zones are always a challenge.

We set separate watches to the local times before we sail. Just to make sure. We don't want to miss our privately booked tours. Of course most private excursions I suppose would wait, if it's just us, as usual, what are there options. If they wait they get the $$. If they don't , ... they don't.
But, ... if you fail to show within the designated time parameters , they may sell/take another group.

It's a tough game/balance. for all involved.

Point is the ship time will be local port time 90% of the time on our itinerary.

When do the clocks chage from EDT to EDT ? ? ? Still irrelevant.
Follow ship time.

OK that was a lot of noise. :lmao: Read the first sentence ...

Unfortunately this FB link will be deleted by the Moderates here.
As FB links are no longer allowed. :rolleyes1

In fact, I would recommend removing said link yourself, as, the Disboard police may flog you. :lmao:

Is there another avenue to post said link?

Is said link to the last minute FE ?
If so, send said link via PM to me if possible.

Regarding Halloween Activities aboard

It appears from recent reports that these events are not just in the day time as I initially reported and anticipated/historically presented. Apparently events are in the evening time, potentiality affecting Adult Dinning, if said planning extends to the Fantasy on the 7 night sailings.

I was wrong, several times in my postings. DCL scheduling has changed. If this holds true to our sailings.

I had no idea. My recent insight comes from the Dream, 4 day Navigators, 9/7/14, which may be indicative of our sailings. ? ? ?

My bad for assuming these activities would occur mid day , as in the past. Without any action/schedule in the evening.

I knew DCL was reworking the Halloween events, but. wow. Day and evening events.

Regardless, the western C itinerary Halloween Navigators are not yet posted.
Once they are available, wherever that may be, I will post link here, so sailors may get a feel for the exact events/timing aboard regarding the Halloween events.

Many sailors are waiting for the details regarding the Halloween Sailings.
The Navigators will be posted soon regarding the western C itinerary.

If I find it, I will post it here.

:)

If I set up a T-Shirt order, how many would be interested?

FB's ask too on that site for me. IFYKWIM ;)

Apparently this is going to happen fast and need quick responses considering we are 37 days out.

Please respond here if possible.

TIA

I understand your desire to apologize, but even without your posts I had assumed that all the HOTHS events were a one day/night thing on all the sailings. Even after looking at some of the other navigators from sailings that have already occurred, I wonder how much ours will differ still since our sailing takes place during actual Halloween. I get the stuff with the tree in the atrium taking place over several days, but I imagine we'll get the main celebration (if there is a such a thing, the Howl-and-Scream, costume contests, and trick or treating) on Halloween itself? Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. My DH loves Halloween, so if the celebrations take place throughout the entire cruise, he'll be in heaven. :cloud9:
