October 25, 2014 Fantasy Western "The Not So Scary Halloween Cruise 2014" Part 2

Since two of my kids picked the same cruise, they are driving me a little nutty trying to figure out excursions. :jester: Although, it was probably a short trip.:rotfl2:

I think on this one I am horseback riding (booked on my own since the horseback riding through Disney is age 12+ and horseback riding booked with the same company on our own is 8+) and the one of the ruins in Cozumel. We haven't picked a Grand Cayman excursion yet. Nico is going with the teen excursion for CC and Julie will go with the Edge kids on the beach. I was still trying to convince my kids to swim with the sharks, but they seem to have a resistance to that excursion. Something about not wanting to be bitten by a shark.. :confused3 :lmao:

What are people booking for Grand Cayman and Jamaica, what's popular? My booking window opened today and other then snagging a cabana on CC I haven't booked anything else.

I don't seem to be booking a lot through Disney. I am swimming with the dolphins in the Grand Cayman on a different cruise and have heard amazing reviews about that particular excursion.

Other people will be more knowledgeable about popular excursions though. This will only be my 2nd time going on the Western Caribbean.

I want to join in on the fish extenders! I am new to Disney cruises and the fish extender game but from what I've read it sounds like a lot of fun. How do I join?

Hello fellow DIS-cruisers! :wave2:

Just signed up for this cruise tonight! :cheer2::yay::hyper:
(Talk about last minute planning, huh?) :bitelip:

We are myself (Tim), my wife (CaptJackFan - Wendy), and our 2 boys (Jacob - age 14, and Samuel - age 12).

We can't wait, as we get our GOLD lanyards on this cruise!

Hi there and welcome to our group! This is going to be a fantastic cruise! :goodvibes
If you check out the first page of this thread you will find info on the FE. It is being put together by MinnieMadMum. You can send her a PM (private message) with all of your info. In order to send a PM on the Dis boards, you need to have made 10 general posts. You can use this group page to do that, if you like (if you look back you will see where others have done just this). I don't actually participate in the FE's so I'm sure that others can give you more information, I just wanted to make sure that you knew someone saw your inquiry. I'll get a message to the organizer!

This cruise is going to be so much fun! :banana:I think there are lots of kids your boys' age on this trip! They have their own dis page that they are meeting up on - you can find the link on Page 1.
Congrats on becoming Gold! And I think last minute planning is sometimes the best!

My husband and I are doing the snuba diving in the Grand Cayman. You do not have to be certified in scuba to do this. I have done this before and it was one of the reasons why I became certified in scuba diving. My husband is not certified. This is a nice start to see if scuba diving is for you. My family has also done a Pirate Ship excursion in which they had to "Walk The Plank" and loved it. I did not see this on the Disney excursion list.

In Jamaica I enjoyed climbing Dunn's River Fall and swimming with dolphins. I recommend a good no slip water shoe for the Falls.

Hope this helps.:cool1:pirate:

Do you have enough time for Dunn's River Falls? I have a 7 year old and I wasn't sure how long it would take

So cute! I see you have a Dr. Who fan, my son loves Dr. Who as well.

The 12th Doctor lands Saturday 23rd August!!! :cool1: :happytv:

I'm a big Doctor Who fan as well! :worship: (of course, I WAS born in the same year the original series started)! :hippie:

Hi and welcome. If your kids would like to join the kids thread my son Nico will be 14 and is on there (although right now he's away at camp but will be back next week) and my 12yo daughter is on there as well.

Falmouth is our longest port day and DCL is doing a Dunn's excursion, so there will be time. We are doing a private excursion to the Blue Hole and some river tubing with our 7 year old.

Just in case anyone is wondering :scratchin , here are the nights to dress other than "cruise casual" for dinner on our cruise.

Formal night will be on night 2, October 26th. Semi-formal night will take place on night 6, October 30th. Pirate night pirate: will be on night 5, October 29th. We have not yet received any itineraries as to when they will be having the Halloween festivities onboard. It will most likely change for each sailing, based on itinerary. :thumbsup2

I'm thinking the halloween costume night will be when Jack and Sally are out and about for photos.

i'm looking for a cabana if anyone is thinking about letting one go. please p.m. me if this unlikely thing happens. ;)

thanks.
