kvaday - sorry - your hubby was right!
The early Labrador originated on the island of Newfoundland, now part of the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. [54] The breed emerged over time from the St. John's Water Dog, also an ancestor of the Newfoundland dog (to which the Labrador is closely related), through ad-hoc breedings by early settlers in the mid to late 15th century.[54]
To explain this for everyone else - we were having a discussion on the chat last night about the Labrador Retriever, and whether it was named after my home province, or originated here. I thought the latter - as did kvaday's husband. Wikipeida proved her hubby and I right
Now back to your regularly scheduled
DCL planning.....
