No didnt scare me away.........i am such an addict of the boards i am trying to wean myself a bit and only come on once a day..........HA:lmao:

i am off work today and i am just going to finish the last of the UNPACKING from my last cruise!

I know that is horrible we got back NOV 3 but i was so busy every day that i was off work, with getting ready for the wedding, that i just put everything in a corner and left it.........NOW today is finish that and my next days off will be get ready for Christmas!!!!!!!:)

We are a little excited about Christmas this year as last year we did not have regular Christmas with presents under the tree.....we went to ORLANDo last year and spent 4 days at Christmas.......Our fist Christmas in Florida.

So i gave the kids a choice this year of Orlando or Home with presents under the tree and they said PRESENTs...........so this will be our first REAL Christmas in Florida with just the 4 of us. I am excited to make it nice for them, but i am sooo hoping i dont get homesick for the rest of my family!

Well off to unpack !!!

HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!!!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!!!!!:santa: :santa: :santa:

Yaaa, I thought I scared you all away.

Yes, please share photos!!!!

DS and DD have both posted on the boards but I have to remind them, that it is there. They talk on MSN and facebook so often they forget to come in and check the boards. I will get DS to post tonight, DD is working so not sure if she will get a chance.

First Christmas in Florida, where are you from originally???

I have Carnival Legend up right now as my screen saver as I am cruising on her in March, even shows my balcony......love it.

We have travelled to Florida a few times in Oct and notice that there is usually alot of people from the UK there then as well. Do you have a school holiday?? Our town's high school kids always have the last week of October off but the rest of the province doesn't so I was just curious.

Was there any mention of a Palo brunch??? DH and I would definatley be in, actually DS as well he will be old enough this trip.

Kim

i think we might go out to do dinner to night soooo, we may tell the kids this evening about the cruise and then they can join in the posting too!

Technically 2nd Christmas...... first was just on vacation in Orlando. We moved here from The DC area, that is where i was raised but have lived all up and down the EAST coast. From ORLANDO FLORIDA to CLEVELAND OHIO and back.

Well we have a short 2 days off at the end of OCT the past 2 years here but i forget why......some weird Holiday!

PALO BRUNCH?!?!?!?!?!? We did a DIS Palo brunch on my last cruise.....you have to have at least 12 people to get the special room, and i think no more than 14. I was a bit unimpressed with the brunch although i am up for doing it again, i was a little bit sea sick as it was our fist full day. AND i was not happy with the guy having to tell us ALL ABOUT THE FOOD it literaly took about 20 minutes for him to tell us about all the food show us where it was etc...all while the boat was tocking and standing in heels ( WHICH I WILL NOT DO AGAIN)

I will definitley try for a Tea and a dinner on our own and if we dont do a brunch as a group try for one of those on my own also.........As we LOVED the PALO DINNER!

Great, it would be nice for the kids to get to know each other as well.

We have only done the brunch and we loved it. I don't think we will book in for dinner as I am quite happy with the food in the dining room and don't want to miss out there.

Terrible thing is I am more excited about this cruise then the one in March..:confused3

Ohio to Florida, that is a bit of a temp difference in the winter, must seem weird being warm at Xmas, even a few Xmas's here when it has been warm enough for a fall jacket is seems weird.

Kim

WE LOVED the PALo dinner...........Even though the DINNERs in the dining rooms are VERY NICe too! The atmosphere was very nice with it being so quiet and seeing the water etc......lovely!
And it ended up that our kids were not with us much for dinners as they were in the kids areas......but we went to our dinner in the dining room that night as well, we just made it for a earlier time than our dining room dinner that way we got to do both!!!!!!;)

Well i was raised in Dc then moved to Orlando and was there for 3 years and LOVED THE WEATHER, moved to CLEVELAND with my job and then slowly made my way back down to Florida..........WE LOVE THE WEATHER, BUT it is hard to realize that it is Christmas time.

We have only been on the one cruise with DISNEY although DH was on one other cruise WAY BACK IN THE DAY! we might do a short cruise out of MIAMi or FORT LAUDERDALE this summer when the kids go to GRANNYS!:cool1:

Ohhh never thought to eat at both places:thumbsup2

I think it is a good thing I don't live in Florida, I would cruise once a month and be totally in debt.....lol My first night of my first ever cruise was on DCL and the ship was rocking like crazy, a good portion of the ship was sick, and I swore I would never crusie again, well the 2nd day I was fine and have been hooked ever since. I have only done 3 with 3 more booked but I love it.

DS is excited about PALO this time, he is a skinny kid but I laugh cause each meal on a cruise he will order 2 starters, 2 apps, 2 entree and 2 desserts and still hit the pizza or buffet later in the evening. I think that is the only thing he likes about cruising:lmao:

Kim

I was sick my first 2 days.........SWORE i would never ever ever do it again!

Now we plan to do a DCL until the kids cannot use the stack anymore!!!!

My Ds did the same thing when he was with us for dinner..He thought it was really cool trying NEW THINGs to eat and if he didnt like it it didnt matter!!!!!

YEAh.......do PALo and your regular DINNER, CUZ YOU CAN!!!!!!!!!:)

i am sure that is what we will do again this year even if we cant eat much, we will hang out get a drink desert..........whate ever and we have the LATE DINNEr seating so we can go as early as possible to PALO! and be ready for a bit more food by dinner time!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1:

Any thoughts on what you might be for HALLOWEEN YET?????????

i have not made any decision, i am leaning to wards a NON DISNEY THEMED costume..................like a HALLOWEEN DOLL type person, lets say like a Raggedy Anne and Andy Halloween style!!!!!!!!?!?!?!? with all orange and black frilly and orange wigs and MAYBE either a fake pull string in the back to make it look like you could pull our strings and we could talk or a LIFE SIZE marrianet doll and i am sure i did not spell that right..................

But this is only what is stuck in my head right now.........

My other option was to lean towards something from Nightmare Before christmas.

Not sure what we are going to do about halloween.

We have dressed up on our other 2 halloween cruises, I actually already have a Raggedy Ann costume;)

My kids loved the stack. Ds is so upset he won't be able to hang out there, he just liked playing video games, doesn't care how old the person is he is playing against. Hopefully there will be other kids his age he can hang out with.

DD is miss social butterfly, she will have best friends 10 mins after getting on the ship:thumbsup2

Kim

Dizzi, where in the DC area? We're in NoVa near the Auto Train.....

always love to hear how people from here like it down there....we would LOVE to move to FL! People think I'm crazy and theire reasoning - get this...ready...it's really hot and humid there! Um, and it isn't here????!!!!! LOL!!!! I really love that one!

Hi Everyone!
I have been away for a while as I have been busy getting costumes ready for a Disney themed birthday party we went to at the weekend.
any photos to share , sounds like fun

KIM..........Did you use the Raggedy Anne costume on a cruise??? How funny is that? What did you dress up like on the other cruises? I hope your DS has some other people to hang with too! There is alot to do though and the kids are ot always in the stack! okay MINE will be but all of them are not!

My DD is the same way she willhave life ong frinds in less than a day!

SUE.......We lived and worked in Hagerstown MD and Frederick Md and also lived in Martinsburg WV. You are not kidding about the humidity! people dont understand, that this close to the beach, you dont have the humidity like we do in the city. we have loved it here and even the summer was more bareable here than back home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

JNS.....Do you plan on trying to do PALO again????

I've always said anything is easier when you have a pool in your backyard! I think it's like a state law or something in Florida that you HAVE to have one!! Well, if it isn't, it should be!!! Big sigh....wishes, wishes, wishes!!!

Suzie

Yes, on the disney cruise I wore the Raggedy Ann and once at MNSSHP but I have moved on now, time for a new costume.

I was also a hippi chick once on our last halloween cruise. Problem with buying costumes here anyways is they are all a little .....ummm shall I say riskay (sp) for Disney or any family cruise. And lets face it I don't have the body I did when I was 21 so need something that covers alot of the bod....:lmao:

Kim

Do you have a picture of your Raggedy Anne costume? Would love to see it! I saw a couple hippies on the ship. And yeah i can relate to having to have something less revealing.........WOW the things i used to be able to wear!

SUE......... We dont have a pool in our back yard.........BUT we do have the ocean less than 7 minutes away!!!! DOES THAT COUNT?????
:confused3

Sure does! Probably better because you don't have to clean it! lol!!!!:rotfl:

Suzie

WE also have the ocean nearby - the problem is it's the freakin' north atlantic and has icebergs floating in it in July :rotfl2: ! (Remember - the Titantic sunk off our shores :scared1:!) Of course, the water temp didn't stop me from swimming in it when I was a kid - hopefully I have a little more sense now :rotfl:!

Valerie

We love our ocean, it is too cold for me even here in the middle of winter, but from say MArch to October it is still good.

What I LOVE LOVE LOVE about our ocean is.......the Summer time from Like May to Sept there is USally NO WAVES at ALL! If there has been a storm there may be a few..........BUT i love going when i can walk WAY out and it is only to my Waist and CALM! i can lay on a raft and float all day! It is also a great time to snorkel and see lots of interesting fish.

i just started doing this very recently so i have been totally amazed!!!!
I have seen all kinds of things i had never seen before!

The only down side to the beach is having to lug everything you want to have there, we are continuously trying to coem up with an easy solution to this problem!

Lynn

Good morning my fellow cruisers!!!!!

Lynn: I have photos but I have no idea how to post them:confused3

Well we have a pool in our backyard, but I would take the ocean anyday. Actually right now my pool has a big black tarp on it to keep out the snow:scared1: but the hot tub is getting alot of use:woohoo:

Is anyone else booked under a gty?? We have a 11 gty and just curious when the cabins are assigned, I am sure not for awhile but just wondering.

Kim
