Sally, please forgive me, but I really don't know what happened. Please explain. Sounds terrible whatever it is.

Sorry...A major Travel Company(3rd biggest in UK) went bust on Friday, leaving thousands without their holidays/flights and many were stranded in Florida & other destinations. It's effected so many people & must be heartbraking for them.
Some are managing to re book & will then be able to claim some monies back, but there must be many who are just not financially able to do that.
Very sad to have to tell a child there not going to Disney now!

Plus of course, its left many people without jobs to go to...
An awful time all round really.

I have a couple of questions for all you seasoned cruisers out there.

When we charge anything to our onboard account (bar drinks etc) do we get some sort of receipt so that we can check or account balance regularly?? If so, does this apply to anything the kids charge to our account as well (you can catch my train of thought here, can't you )

Next question...does anyone know if there will be any face painting onboard for the kids, & if so, do they charge for it??

Helen, you should always get a receipt because you actually have to sign it (ie: like a credit card slip) and you can always check your account and charges at Guest Services on deck 3. Actually it is a good thing to check/pay your account up early so that you don't have issues that last night when EVERYONE seems to be there paying.

You can have Guest Services put a no charge to minor's cards. Not sure if they can set a limit for charging but we will be looking into that when we get on board.

Face painting, I haven't seen. Only hairbraiding and yes, there is a charge for that.

My DH and I, along with our 3 children DS-9, DD-7,DS-5 will be celebrating my 40th birthday during this cruise! I thank you all for the information I havr gotten by reading along!!

I got the TOT bags on Saturday!!! I will take pictures and post later. They are great size and a lightweight material making it easier to meet my baggage weight limits!!!

Hello All,


I wanted to take the opportunity to introduce ourselves to the group.

I have PM’ed several of you, and have tried to keep up with the posts, but have not found the time to actively participate in the on-going posts.

Hopefully, I can join in more actively in the coming month.


We are a party of 4
Me, my DW, DS [8], and DD [7].
We live in Massachusetts, about an hour’s drive, west of Boston.


I am a long time DIS'er, and have used the boards extensively for trip planning.


We are also DVC Members, and have been fortunate enough to have traveled to Disney World several times.
We have been DVC Members for over a decade. We Joined DVC prior to having children, so our kids have been lucky enough to have had many wonderful vacations over the years.


The October 25th., 2008 Cruise will be our third cruise.

Our first Cruise was a 3 day cruise, followed by some time in Disney World.

Our second cruise was a 7 night - double dip Western cruise in early November of 2006. We had a very active cruise meet post for that cruise. We ended up meeting a lot of the individuals we communicated with in the post, once we got onboard, and it was great to already know a bunch of the people onboard.


Having already taken a 7 night - double dip Western cruise, we really struggled with taking another one, or taking a 7 night eastern cruise. The deciding factor was the ages of our children, and the two stops at Castaway Cay. The kids love the beach, and play there all day long. I find it very enjoyable and relaxing. The short walk or tram ride to the family beach, the great lunch, the clean beach and beautiful water…….. What’s not to like.


I look forward to chatting with you on-line, and meeting you on-board.

Dolphin Swim Adventure at Dolphin Discovery in the morning.
After Dolphin Swim, spend some time at Chankanaab National Park
If we have time, or don’t like the beach at Chankanaab, will go to Paradise Beach

Go to some place on 7 Mile Beach, via Taxi’s

Thursday, October 30th., 2008
Spa Treatment for DW
Palo Dinner Reservations @ 6:00pm

Suzie, We have done MNSSHP as well... we loved it! Have also done MVMCP ... wonderful! I highly recommend a trip to WDW for the holidays. The decorations are incredible.... They are incredible on the ship too... I will try to post some pics later!

This is the deck plan for the Fish Extender list (this is NOT our entire cruise list, just the FE participants). Think of a map with all the cabins marked on them......I did this before we were broken into groups and I made sure it was updated. Obviously, the GTY cabins that are waiting to be assigned aren't on there. Will update the doc when/if I get them as they come in.
