October 25, 2008 Halloween on the High Seas (2)

Tara, good shopping!! Great job! Sorry we won't have you on chat Saturday but have fun camping!

Arlene, that's a great idea!!! Dh and I are discussing right now since you brought it up! Hmmm....note to self...call Hyatt and ask about protocol.....
Thanks!!!

Also a reminder:

Please take a moment tomorrow morning to remember those that we lost 7 years ago.

For some of us, it was very close to home. For others, it was a news story. But it changed the world for all of us.

We remember and we will never forget.

A Proud American. Home of the Free because of the Brave.

Thanks.
Suzie

Well about FE's when is the list coming out, or are we still waiting on rooms to be assigned for everyone? I have seen several items but not sure how many to buy since not sure how many girls, boys etc? At least I am getting many ideas, just still not sure on what to get for adults.

HI Tara and everyone involved in the FE Exchange

In relation to Tara's question - I am still waiting for 6 cabin numbers ( myself x 2, hockeychic, mommy2777, VAcruisers and jenn&nelsonrego) I know a few of us have GTY status so we won't yet be allocated. I have sent PM to hockeychic and VAcruisers to see if they are still wanting to participate and if they have their cabin numbers. I haven't heard anything back yet.

So if you want the lists now, I can allocate these cabins to the lists, but you would possibly have a little bit more walking to do to visit other decks when these cabin numbers come out. If that is not a problem then I can do the lists as soon as I get some feedback on this issue. As it is we are all scattered about the ship and more than one deck will probably be implicated in any case, so as soon as I get the go-ahead from the majority of participants I will sort out the lists.

So the choice is

Option One: Get lists sooner rather than later and no worries about having to deliver to other decks for a few odd cabins.

Option Two: Wait until all the GTY cabins are allocated and then get the lists - this would probably mean leaving it another 2 weeks or so.

Thanks everyone!

I pick option 1
if I read right there is only 6 without cabin number so if you added 2 to each group it is not that much extra walking
i really enjoyed walking around the decks looking at everyones doors

Thinking of all in the USA today
there was quite a few Irish and British killed in 9 - 11 aswell

Totally Angelic family

My initial idea was to link decks 2 and decks 8 - on the theory that although they are far apart this would give these participants just one trip in the elevator.

Deck 7 could more or less just stay as it is, and deck 5 link with deck 6, and then I would add in a couple of unknown cabins to each group. Not knowing the layout of the ship I do not know whether it would be better to link deck 2 to deck 8, or deck 2 to deck 6 (which would involve splitting deck 6). It is a lot more complicated than I originally anticpated :scared1:

When I split it as outlined above I am coming up with the following groups, and I would appreciate your thoughts and comments:

GROUP 1: (13 cabins)

The TGC MOM family- cabin 2094
The Newfie Mom family cabin – 2106
The JNS Family cabin 2518
The Rob Marion Family Cabin 2081
The Shoshie Family - cabin 2086
The CODisneyFans family - cabin 2508
The HelenSB family- cabin 8102
The Laurelk Family Cabin 8076
The sdaniel Family - Cabin 8086
The sdaniel Family - Cabin 8084
The disneycruising family Cabin – 8016
The Totally Angelic family: cabin 1 GTY cat 12
The Totally Angelic famiy: cabin 2 GTY cat 12

Group 2 (12 cabins)

The Suziemva Family cabin 6130
The Suziemva Family cabin 6131
The Stacijo family - cabin: 6126
The Stacijo Family - cabin 6139
The AuntLynne family – cabin 6134
The AuntLynne Family – cabin 6135
The MichelleBriana Family cabin 6540
The PADisneyCouple Family cabin 6624
The mommy2777 family : unknown
The Jenn & Nelson Rego family GTY cat 6
The hockeychic family unknown
The va cruisers family - unknown

Gp 3 (13 cabins)

The Sarahlovespooh family - cabin 7560
The iamdaisyduck family7622
The lcborn2run family - Cabin 7504
The Summer Gal Family - cabin 7514
The LOVABLE GLUTTON FAMILY cabin 7562
The Disney4Dana Family - cabin 7606.
The bbaltes family Cabin 7070
The Aswift family cabin 7014,
The CarrianneB family - cabin 7044
The KVADAY family cabin 7060
The Agraygirl Family - cabin 7096
TaraandMike Family - Cabin 5126
TaraandMike family Cabin 5127

So if you could all give me your comments I would be eternally grateful. If you prefer to wait until all the GTY cabins are allocated then let me know. If you are happy to go ahead with these groups then I can let you know all the details re. numbers of children / adults / ages / genders etc asap. Thanks.

Actually I think we are getting off lightly as there was a Fish Extender group of over 120 cabins on the recent panama canal cruise and they all delivered to 120 + cabins :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Our thoughts are also with those remembering lost loved ones today - it certainly did change the world and affected everyone in it when the tragedy happened 7 years ago.

Sarah, I would rather know the information and list now but that's me. I don't mind walking a bit for the GTY cabins at all. Thanks!

Sarah, thanks so much for doing this!

(***Tara, don't you have two cabins - 5126 and 5127???)

Would be helpful to Tara if we could all check the list and let her know if there's any changes.

Jackie, our thoughts and prayers are with all the families of those lost on 9/11.

Everyone have a good day and see you on chat tonight!

Thanks Suzie - I have checked - you are correct and I have now added Tara's two cabins to the list. It just gives us 2 groups of 13 and one of 12.

I would also prefer to have the lists now and don't mind walking a bit during the delivery of the gifts.

So it looks like so far we have:

option 1: 3
option 2: 0

Please keep your comments coming and thanks :goodvibes

i vote for option 1 also, list looks good...but arent there some familys that yes have 2 cabins but one is the "adult" cabin and the other is for the teenagers/ kids? i made gifts that are for the adults and want to make sure they get them and not kids.:thumbsup2

I understand what you mean Amy - one way around that would be to highlight the cabin which has the adults in it. so that you don't leave the adult intended gifts in the cabin where the kids are. Would this help.

Alternatively we could just go by families rather than by cabins, but this would mean some people having to deliver to more cabins because their group would include the ones with more than one cabin.

help! this is getting too complicated for me now.

So now we have another dilemma:

A. keep lists as they are but those with multiple cabins highlight the cabin the adults will be in or

B. change the format and group according to family groups rather than cabins, on the understanding that some family groups will have more than one cabin and so the people in their group will have more cabins to visit.

again for option 1:thumbsup2

Is that option 1 in the second vote or the first vote ----:rotfl: :rotfl:

now I am so confused myself I am off to change the second vote to A / B rather than 1 / 2 .....so that makes your vote for option 1 in the first vote and option A in the second vote ......and I am completely going nuts!

Hi Sarah...We are a family with 2 cabins as well, but I only put down one cabin number on your list as we will only have 1 FE. Isn't that what most people are doing?

Maybe it should not necessarily be by cabin number, but rather number of Fish Extenders. Thus, I would remain at one. Just an idea. I didn't reallize so many people were putting down two cabin numbers for the FE.

Thanks for doing all the organizing. :cheer2: I know it isn't easy!

Lisa

I may have to move some of the multiple family cabins around a little without upsetting the balance of the deck organisation too much, because I realise that are about 5 multiple cabin families in Group 2. I am just waiting to hear how many fish extenders each multiple cabin family will be using before I come up with the final lists.

Thanks for that Lisa - I will check how many FE the multiple cabin families are having - I may have to edit the groups again when I find out so please don't write anything down yet?

I myself have 2 cabins but as we don't even know if they will be together we will have 2 fish extenders.

If people don't mind walking all over the ship (good exercise) I could just pull names out of a hat to determine the groups (thanks Jackie )

I think the whole idea of spliting the groups was to keep the cost and the baggage down , not the walking around the ship
for me last time it was nice to see the other decks , there was some great doors :thumbsup2
so I think just to take pot luck with who ever you are grouped with
after all we have a whole 7 days to get them delivered ,

I swiped this from Barack Obama's website... (I cropped it to not show his name because this is not intended to be political) It says exactly how I feel...

What if we just listed the occupants (name (and Dis name - even if occupants are children of the dis'er) and ages) of the people in each cabin? Then we can make sure that the gifts are age appropriate (for thos planning on doing gifts like that)?

This does sound good... after all that food - it will be nice to explore other decks... Now I am bummed... I might not be able to torture Amy...

Oh well, I will get over it... :sad2: :sad1: :sad2: :sad1: :rolleyes1

I'm all good with whatever ends up getting decided - and I really appreciate your efforts in getting this organized!!:flower3: :yay:
