and while I'm at it.....

ANOTHER SHOUT OUT FOR PHOTO OP!!!!!!!!

On the first thread, we had started a list wondering who would be interested in participating in a group photo op. Please let me know if you are - we're hoping to arrange a time with Shutters - pick a date/time, let everyone know when to meet, etc. Looking at Pam's list of activities for last year, they arranged one for Pirate Night - that might be cool!

So please let me know if you're interested - we're trying to get an idea of numbers to pick a meeting spot, and be able to try and pre-arrange with Shutters.

Valerie

Val, sent you a PM...

Kim, we booked for CC#1 at 10:00 am too! Yeah!

let me see if I can rember right
she put the kids in groups by age and then had 2 parent go along with each group and had other parenets at each area to give out a new clue
and the final clue sent them to the tresure
but there was a wedding about to start so we had to give out the stuff really quickly and try and keep them quite

everyone took some things for the treats and we had them in bags to give out at the end

I'll volunteers to keep the list in order
so please can I have the name and age of the child who will be taking part
and I think we will need a cut off date too so we will know how many treat to get
anyone else like to help

Suzie - Thats awesome! My Mom and Dad decided to do it too. They are all signed up now as well.

Jackie - My family wants to do the trick and treat. I'll send you a PM of the kids names and ages.

During the Trick and Treat are the kids wearing anything to help identify themselves to each other and to the volunteers that are standing around at the clue spots?

I'd like to help but I am not sure what I can help with :rotfl:.

if you want your kids to participate
A) donate a bag of candy or small item/toy
B) one parent volunteer to assist in any way.
what about the middle of Sept as a cut off date or is that to late
and any idea what day and time to have this

sorry for not joining the chat room last night or early morning it was 4 am then for me
was just in from work
hope you all had good fun in the chat room

Just had an idea
what about a chat room meet on board some time
it would be nice to sit face to face and have a chat
anyone up for it

I would join in on a chat with you guys sometime....

As far as the ToT....

Sorry to hear Pam had to cancel.

And yes i think you could reuse her clues...
But i think the one thing i would do differently is have it end some where more open so that somethignlike the wedding woudl not casue the ending to get messed up again, that was a bummer for the kids and she worked so hard on the GREAT FINAL ENDING!

Yes we all brought candy and there was a TON of it.

And she and a couple other girls put them in pirate loot bags tp have ready at the end.

I might have a picture i can find of them.

You do need alot of volunteers cuz you need 2 parents for each group and at least one parent at each spot to give out t he next clue.

The end could be done up in a TREASURE CHEST full of the goodies or something liek that.

I would also suggest to have each age group start a few minutes after the other, that way they are spread out a bit more and dont end up back at the end all at one time.

A suggestion for an ending place could be the arcade maybe.

And also if you dont want to go to the process of all of this you know you could just have the old fashioned trick or treating door to door if so many volunteers are needed any way you coudl sepreate the kids and have them go on different floors at different times and jsut knock on the doors to recievei what each person is bringing and then have them end some where.

They could even dress up to make it a little more fun for them and have a small party soemwhere at the end. Or one free game in the arcade.???

Just some thoguhts for you guys to hash around.
Remember thsi is your vacation do whjat you can now, i truly wouldt want to have to go through all of the mess of making up bags etc once you get on the boat. It seems easier and the kids will still have fun door to door.

I willbe back later to see what you guys decided.

thanks for that Lynn
please do drop by the chat room any time

Oh my goodness! I just found out that Corbin Bleu is going to be at our county fair next week! How am I going to keep this a secret from Tori? :confused3 We decided this year not to go but if she finds out she'll really want to go!

She just loves anything High School Musical! This is going to be tough one.....

hayleigh just yet ANOTHER fancy dress for the cruise, here she is and i thought this bathing suit was fitting for the cruise.:cool1:

Chat night 2nite right?

Amy, you sure did do some shopping, I see!!! Very cute dress and suit - love the pirate theme! Tell Hayleigh she'll be doing more fashion shows before she knows it!

Okay - just typed out a reply and lost it! Here I go again...

Thanks for taking the lead on the TOT Jackie! Count me in as an adult helper, and add my two boys to the list - Alex (11) and Adam (9).

It's too bad you couldn't get into the impromptu chat last night, because it was all about TOT (okay, mostly about TOT  ) and Pam was able to join us. She is going to e-mail Suzie her stuff from last year. We were able to ask her some questions, and she said that the organizing time on board was about an hour, so that doesn't sound too bad!

We did come up with a couple of suggestions - Pam was the only drop off person for treats last time, and it got complicated because she changed cabins last minute. We thought it might be better if we had at least 2, if not 3, drop off people.

The other suggestion, which was Suzie's, was that in order for your child(ren) to participate, each family had to make a donation and commit to at least 1 parent volunteering in some capacity. We would of course take ressies and stuff into consideration!

I am sure there were other ideas, but those are the only 2 that come to mind at the moment. I know that when we looked at the stuff Pam sent last night, it doesn't look too complicated - especially with lots of volunteers!

And chat again tonight?? Holy Cow, I'm going to be divorced on grounds of Chat Addiction

Well, there are virtually NO Palo reservations left! ... Same thing for most of the spa treatments I looked at. This just seems kind of crazy that we're three months out and everything is completely booked! ...

I think the "problem", for lack of a much better word, is that most of the people on the doubledips are not first time disney cruisers so we all know to get these things booked early.

IMO, people who do not know Disney do not necesssarily go for a doubledip cruise, thinking that they would rather see more places (I say- once you have experienced Castaway Cay, you don't care about other places ;) Cozu-who, Grand-what? :confused3 ) and those people do not know to book Palo and excursions early and wait until they are onboard (at least that is what DH and I did on our first Disney cruise).

I was on a double dip in Dec 06 and I remember a crew member saying that over 80% of guests were Castaway Club members and that they were going to have the Castaway Club get together in two, maybe three rooms!

I hope you get what you are looking for...

Count us in! Pirate night sounds cool... but so would one of the formal nights...

I know that when we looked at the stuff Pam sent last night, it doesn't look too complicated - especially with lots of volunteers!

I have to figure out the multi quote thing...

Anyway,

I would love to help out with the TOT... It is just DH and I (although, he IS a leap year baby and just turned "8" this February), but we would still like to help out - we could "man" one of the treat locations- and we would, of course, contribute to the candy stockpile!

Let us know what you need.

i'll "man" a station and of course donate some treats!
