October 25, 2008 Halloween on the High Seas (2)

Suzie - That is crazy about what happened the other night. Did you ever figure out why the police had a call from your number?

The fish extenders are so cool! Good job everyone!

Yesterday we did some cruise shopping. I got this pretty cool bag from Lands End at Sears. It was on sale and then additional 30% off. It was$14.99! It is canvas, with red bottom and has a side pocket on the outside. Its super cute and its got a zipper so I can use it in port. Its a beach bag but not oversized just big enough for me to put our few things in.

I told my Mom about it and she bought one today and one for my sister so now we will all match! How pathetic :rotfl:

I also got myself 2 new bathing suits and then came home and ordered 3 tee's from Lands End.

I got my 2 girls 2 bucket hats and matching skirt for the beach.

I still got tons more but its a start. My oldest DD and I shopped for hours yesterday looking for a formal dress for her but we didn't find much of anything.

The weather has been really lovely here the last few days and haave been spending some time on our local castaway Cay , If only we had the wonderful Disney Cast members to see to our every need we wouldn't have to go on holidays

Jackie, the pics are gorgeous!!! Love the beach....so jealous!!! And the sunrise is beautiful!! I can only imagine how gorgeous the colors of the sky were that morning.....

Hope to see you on chat tonight!

Suzie did you pick a stingray day? We just booked this.

I have looked into the times available for the nursery for my 2 year old and it really limited our choices but we choose:

Day 2 (our 1st CC day) at 10:00 AM. Our plan is to do this with our 2 older ones and then drop them off at the club on CC and go get our 2 year old.

I hope someone here with kids my kids ages is also doing it at this time. I think that would be neat.

Well I thought I booked it. I got an error message and now I can't get back in.

I'll try again later.

Kim, let me know and we'll see if we can get at the same time. That way the girls will all be around the same age and doing this together. Sounds like fun!
:cool1:

Boy, did we drop the ball or what?

Happy Belated 10th Birthday, Disney Magic!!!!!!

My children found out today that we will be going on the cruise. :crazy2: My DD (14) checked the mail today and there was a package from all seas travel...surprise!! It had few brochures for DCL & a dvd. My DD (8) started:sad: crying she doesn't want to be on the cruise ship for halloween. I can't tell you how shocked I was. Hopefully she will change her mind in the next few months.;) Kids--you never know what they will say! Everyone else was happy! :dance3: My DD (14) is excited to celebrate her b-day on the cruise.

So now that the trip is out in the open...let the planning begin! :thumbsup2

Suzie - I couldn't get back in last night but I booked it today.

Day 2 (1st CC day) - we are doing Stingrays at 10:00am.

My oldest DD and I shopped for hours esterday looking for a formal dress for her but we didn't find much of anything.

Maybe I can help... Have you tried checking out the sale racks at local bridal shops for bridesmaid dresses?

Prior to my second cruise in 03 I went to Davids Bridal and purchased a long black skirt from their "Make a Match collection" (In case you dont know the whole concept is to pick a skirt and tops from a collection ~mainly to make bridesmaids of all sizes feel comfortable.)

Here is a link to their site:
http://www.davidsbridal.com/mam.jsp

So anyway... I purchased the black skirt and a black shawl in 03... every time I have cruised since then I simply purchased two new tops... Any color I want because the black skirt and black shawl tie everything together. And it is considerably cheaper because most of the tops cost in the 59.00-79.00 range so buying two new tops costs less than one formal dress.... ;)

Anyway, when I was looking for this year... I found quite a few adorable dresses in the sale section of Davids Bridals website...

HTH,
Jenn

Thanks Jen!

I'll head up to David's Bridal either today or next weekend. Thats a great idea!

I'll check out the mix match skirt idea too. :goodvibes

I need to get 2 formal gowns for little girls size 7/8 and a 4/5. I would like both girls to wear similar colors and then I could wear black or something similar to them.

My Dh is going to wear a tux and so is my son.

Thanks again!

Hi everyone,

It's been four days since I've been online, so much happens in between! It's hard to stay on top of things.

One question: Today I FINALLY got online to make Palo/Spa reservations. We were out of town last weekend, hubby is now in Taiwan...it's been busy, so i just didn't get to it :confused3

Well, there are virtually NO Palo reservations left! Only two nights for dinner, one being the first night aboard and the other the last night (Halloween) so those are both out. Has anyone had luck getting Palo reservations after they are all apparently gone? Do they release any openings as the cruise gets closer, or hold any back for people to reserve on ship?

Same thing for most of the spa treatments I looked at. This just seems kind of crazy that we're three months out and everything is completely booked! Do I just need to haunt the website and hope for cancellations? HELP!

Anielle, check out ebay! I have bought some darling dresses online, really gorgeous and usually pretty reasonable and good quality. There are a couple of sellers who specialize in girls' fancy dresses, and they can match or be the same color in both sizes.

I'm having fun reading back over the lists of cruise necessities. You are all so darn clever...good stuff.

My personal never-leave-home-without-it item is a sharpie pen. I ALWAYS have one with me, every day. They come in so darn handy! And people are so impressed when you whip one out and save the day!

I'm sure that many of you (like me) keep your cars fully 'stocked'. That's one thing you learn in earthquake country....keep a sweatshirt, old pair of sneakers, water bottles and snacks handy. I have it all in a backpack, along with the usual flashlight etc. If the big one really hits, we may all have to walk home someday! Plus, of course, daily snacks, wipes, activities and such for the girls. My DH calls my car the 'mother ship'!

How/when do we find out our dining rotation? So we know what night we're in which restaurant?

Thanks!

Just had a PM from Pam (Dreamcruiser100 ) who was going to do the trick and treating scavanger hunt again this year but they have had to cancel their cruise
so that means we have to come up with T&T ourselves

anyone any ideas

I have last years clues PM me if you want to see
don't want to post on board incase we decide to use them and some of the kids see
I'm working all evening now so will get back to you tomorrow

That is too bad that Pam had to cancel. :sad1:

I am hoping someone takes over the Trick or Treating. It's nice that we have her clues. It would give the volunteer a head start. Any volunteers out there?

So far we have several people volunteering for things~~

Post 1 information -- Dizney-cruiser
Fish Extender -- TotallyAngelic (Sarah)
Photo op -- Newfiemom (Valerie and some helpers)
Lanyards/Name tags -- Disney4dana (Dana)
Private Website --Agraygirl (Arlene)
Brunch -- not sure who is doing this

Anyone....Anyone....for trick or treating? I am sure you can get a lot of helpers.:grouphug:

Dana

It really is too bad that Pam had to cancel - but unfortunately despite our best intentions, life sometimes gets in the way of Disney!

Have had a look at her package of clues - we might even be able to just do exactly what she did - unless we have people with us who were involved last year?? I had a quick look through her list - the only ones I quickly picked out were HockeyChic and Sean and Christine - anyone else? Particularly anyone with children?? If we can just use what she had, it will be much easier for anyone who is willing to volunteer? :worship:
