Does anyone know the which days/evenings are for formal night, Captain's dinner, pirate party, etc.?

Hi ears1253!

Assuming that things remain the same when the Magic returns from California, the formal nights are Monday and Thursday (days at sea) and the Pirate party is on Wednesday (after spending the day in Cozumel). If you look at our cruise website (see my signature) there is a chart on the "Useful Stuff" page that shows which nights are which and when the different shows are and such. If you would like to add your info to the "Who's Going" page, just let me know.

I found the DISBoard last year after a lifetime of being a Disneyphile! My DH and I were involved in an on-line Disney community on Compuserve and went to a meet at WDW every year with that group. The advent of the internet really damaged that group (since Compuserve was originally not that open to the net and you had to be a member to get to their forums.) and I have been having a BLAST since I started posting on the DISBoard. We met some great folks on last year's cruise and this spring we shared an Illumination's cruise at WDW with other DISers. Welcome - but one warning - it is adictive!

well, you must have sent your sunshine our way thanks! :sunny:
It's been beautiful here today, not that Ive seen much of it stuck in school :( The students all finish tomorrow at our school but I have to work the next 2 weeks too :(

Still, I can dream of the cruise while I work!;)

FYI- I have been trying to book Palo, spa and Flounders on line for 3 days and the only thing that the computer is letting me book is the spa.
I called Disney and they don't know what is wrong.

So, I called my TA and he had everything book for me (and add the brunch too) within minutes. AND I got the times and dates. He said everything looked open!!!! He said the TAs get a different screen to book things on and it seems to be more reliable that us doing it on line.

Suggestion- if you can't do it yourself on line and booked through a TA, let them do it:)

Thanks for the reply. This is actually our 2nd DisCruise, but the first for the other couple joining us. We did the eastern Carribean the last time and it was outstanding. Let me assure you that you will love it. Nobody does it better than Disney. Now if the hurricanes leave all our ports intact.

scrapperjill and pdarrah:

Thanks for ALL the direction. Website(s) look great. We will follow-up with some information for the buttons, webpage, etc., etc.

Assuming the boat does keep the same schedule upon it's return, I believe the evening themes you provided would be correct. We are celebrating an anniversary and I'm just trying to work some things around that evening. Don't know how pirate night would effect the mood. pirate:

We discovered DisBoards from some fellow DVCers we meet when our daughters were on the same soccer team last year. Just now getting up to speed with the chat. I have been a crazed Disney Fan for much of my life and converted the rest of the family over time. Now we do something Disney at least once a year.

Counting the days like everyone else....

:teeth:Just booked our Palo dinner and Brunch :cool1: So excited....now if I only knew our rotation :rolleyes2. We did palo for late in the week...because we didn't want to miss the show at AP....I would have liked to have booked it at the begning of the week...but without knowing....I didn't want to book it then have to cancle...The one thing I wish it would have let me do...is book for more than just DH and myself...Were going with a large group ;) ;) ...and I know some if not all were wanting to join us.

OH!!! :scared1: Some other intresting bit of information I found tonight...while trying to find the sunset time for Key West....When were at Key West...they are having... Fantasy Fest 2005...an annual 10 day fest :scared: It should really make for an intresting day at Key West ;) ...If you want to check it out...look at Fantasyfest.com....I went to KeyWest.com....and clicked on what's happening calander...and looked up October...

Oh by the way anyone else know what or where to find the Sunset times? Never did find those. :teeth:

Also going to say I booked/registered the girls in their clubs also. But I guess I'll still have to do some follow up on the ship....because DD12 is not wanting to go to the Lab...but wants to try the Stack. She did the lab last year...and didn't really care for it. She actually spent ALOT of time alone in the stateroom.....for a couple days....Yep instead of paging us or looking for us...she was happy sitting in the room watching movies and ordering roomservice. Finally she met up with her chat pal and they started doing things...But anyway...this year she's wanting to try the Stack...because one of the other kids going along in our group is 13 (they've been friends since they were 5)....so I'm hoping they'll let her move up. But it's something we'll have to talk over with them when we get there.

Anyone else book Palo?

Scrapperjill,

Isn't it exciting???? :cool1: I just booked ours too! I got everything I wanted :Palo Dinner, Palo Brunch, Rasul & Catamaran in Cozumel and ALL for the times I wanted! :rolleyes1

I was also able to book our Palos for 4 so that our friends can join us (they can't book until 75 days out) which was great, suprising but great!

Thanks for the info about Key West! I checked out the site and it gave me (and my husband Robert) a good laugh! The event that is being held on the 23rd is called Blame it on Robert! LOL :rotfl:

Here's the info:

Sunday, October 23
BLAME IT ON ROBERT! A Night of 101 Hauntings, Scares and Screams
Key West's famous bewitched doll – Robert – invites you to celebrate the start of his 2nd century at this spirited island-style party at the hauntingly historic East Martello Museum. Full bar, Caribbean cuisine and music, Fat Tuesday’s frozen drinks, costume contest and ghost tours. Find out why you can blame all your Fantasy Fest® mischief on Robert! The fun happens at the spooky Civil War-era fort, East Martello, on the Atlantic. Sponsored by Century 21 Keysearch Realty; benefits Easter Seals Florida/Keys Region and Key West Art and Historical Society. East Martello Museum, 3501 S. Roosevelt Blvd., 7:30 pm to 11 pm, $$. For tickets and information contact Key West Art & Historical Society at 305-295-6616; www.kwahs.com ; E-mail: jake_stanton@earthlink.net

For those of you with kids, you may want to stay away from the area near the Bull & Whistle due to this:

XTREME XPOSURE - Party like Adam and Eve day and night at the Garden of Eden, clothing optional rooftop bar, above the Bull & Whistle, 224 Duval St.; 10 am - 4 am every day; $$

I found the time for the sunset on the 23rd of October
HERE

According to them it's at 5:27pm on the 23rd.

It sure is coming together now! I booked our PS for WDW prior to the cruise just a few days ago and in about one week give or take, the Park hours for WDW for October should be out and I can make final itinerary changes :cool1:

Yes!! I was also up at 2:00am (Central time) and was able to book our Palo (Dinner, brunch & tea). I did separate Palo dinners for my parents and for us, but I set up brunch and tea for the 4 of us together. I didn't really want any spa stuff - I might try the rainforest room this time, but nothing else really interests me that much. Since we do all our own excursions, I didn't need to book those either. I did register DS for the kid club.

It is going to be really nice not to worry about getting ressies when we board!

We decided not to even try for an Illumination's cruise at WDW since they have made some major changes and really increased the price - it just didn't seem worth it. Now I have to try and figure out new plans for Friday. My parents weren't planning to go to the parks that day (they don't have passes and just weren't that interested - weird!) and the Illumination cruise was the "main event" for them on Friday. Maybe we'll just have a nice dinner at one of the resorts and then drive to the Radisson at the port in the early evening....

Just about everything else is set - we are still watching the rental car prices since the one we have booked is a little higher than usual and I can't book the van to take us to the airport until closer to the trip, but I think that is it!

pdarrah

P.S. Now that it is back a page, if you haven't seen my post about Dining, click here to open a new window with just that post.

I too was able to book everything I wanted. Palo for brunch and dinner, spa treatments and register the kids in the clubs. :goodvibes My DH and DS want to do the parasailing on Castaway Cay, so I also booked that. We can cancel if my DS decided not to do it for some reason later on.

Scrapperjill, I will have to go take a look at the Key West site. Sounds interesting! ;)

We are getting closer!!! :jumping1:

Kathy

Hi, I was also able to book our Palo reservations, but I was unable to get a table for 6 :sad1:

I will have to go back at 75 days and book a table for two with the hopes that they can sit us together, my parents and my brother's family are not CC members.

Last year, FanstasyFest was going when we were there, but we didn't encounter any sign of it. This is the 1st weekend of it and I guess it doesn't get too crazy until the 2nd weekend (close to Halloween). Obviously, if you go looking for the "clothing optional" venues, I'm sure you can find some crazyness - but it wasn't out on the streets last year.

pdarrah

For those of you who were able to book Palo for more than 2 adults...how did you do it? I didn't see any place to change the # of adults...

yay! just booked ours too:)

Palo for dinner and brunch, spa treatments and a couples massage on cc (did this before and loved it)

:cool1: :cool1:

Spent all yesterday with DIS freinds and talked nothing but Disney and cruising so have been whipped up into a frenzy now! :jumping1:

scrapperjill,

Here's where you could choose the size of your party..
I've left the pull down menu open so you can see it...

palo.jpg

Hopefully you can change yours! Good luck!

Yep...thanks..I found it after I posted my question...I guess that's what happens when you have DH talking in one ear...while making important reservations :confused3 ...you just over look the important things like that step.

Now it looks like if I want to change it..I'll need to cancle my reservation and try and rebook...But I'm afraid I'll loose out...if I cancle my reservation :rolleyes2 I wish there was a way to modify the reservation...with out totally rebooking.

Hi Everyone!

It has taken me DAYS to read this whole thread! Wow! :scared1:

Please add us to the list of cruisers for the Oct. 22nd Western. It is just myself, Renee (42) and husband, Alex (37). This will be our second Disney cruise, we did the Eastern in Oct. 2001. This is our third cruise overall, having sailed on the "Big Red Boat" for our honeymoon in Oct. 1990.

This cruise is to celebrate our 15th anniversary, which is on the 13th of October. We were originally scheduled on the Oct. 8-15 cruise, as we wanted to cruise ON our anniversary. But that cruise was canceled due to dry dock. We couldn't decide what to do, then said oh well, we'll go after the fact.

I'm the Disney FANATIC, husband "tolerates" my addiction. We are also DVC members, and are using our points for this cruise. We do have the great fortune of being close enough to drive to the port and/or Disney World. I feel for those of you having to buy plane tickets for your families! :faint:

I don't know how much we have in common with all of you, as we don't have any children, have a dog, but no cats, and I USED to scrapbook, but got burnt out and haven't done any in about 2 years. But I do LOVE to take pictures and video!

I am going to check out pdarrah's website (probably will get to it tomorrow) and will send in our info to be added to the list, and to get buttons. I'll also be happy to donate to the "button fund."

Also, to Timon, a few weeks ago I followed a link in another post to your video from your 2002 cruise and just loved it! As I'm reading this thread I noticed you mentioned a video and followed your link to it, thinking, oh good, someone else posted a video, and it was yours again! What a coincidence to be going on the same cruise! What song is that you used? I really liked it.

Didn't mean to go on forever! I'm just so excited! :jumping1:

-Renee

ReneeQ,

Welcome aboard!! :goodvibes
Hey, if you love Disney, that's all we need in common! :cool1:
I don't have any kids yet either but the people I've talked to on this board that have kids are super nice and easy to get along with so I assume you will have no problems fitting in!

Yeah, I posted my video on this board just in case they never went over to the DCL board, I know we are all getting very excited just about now so I thought it might take care of their DCL fix :earsboy:

The two songs in my DCL video were Where is the Love by Black Eyed Peas and I got It by Kevin Lyttle.

ReneeQ...Welcome aboard :sunny: ......

You'll have no problem fitting in....We do have kids (2 girls), one cat....(Mr. Whiskers...which by the way has regained FULL function to his tail ;) )....two dogs (Boston Terriers)...one of which had a little of 7 puppies...the last one just left home last week :rolleyes2 ....I love scrappbooking...but I too have been a little bunt out (just for the past few months)...I'm really getting the urge to dig my stuff out and finish my cruise album from last year... I only have Castaway cay left to scrap...And I LOVE taking photos...but you probably already knew that :rolleyes1 ...

Were getting close....less than 90 days to go. :cool1: :cool1: and theres so much planning left to do.

I ordered the button supplies...but still need to get the Photo Paper and some ink for the printer :teeth: ....I'm going to start cranking the buttons out as I get everyones information....so if your wanting buttons...PM me the information.....Names of everyone along with your room number.

Hi ReneeQ -Welcome!

Wow - reading the whole thread must take a while now! Good for you!!! :)

Our first cruise last October was to celebrate our 15th anniversary. The anniversary was in June, but we just gave the cruise to ourselves as a gift. Although we have 1 kid (DS6)- on the cruise, I sometimes wondered if I really did! He was so busy with the club that he was MIA an awful lot. We have 5 :scared1: Cats. DS and I are the Disney fanatics in our family. DH likes Disney, but thinks we are a little crazy.

I love taking pictures, but have never really gotten into scrapbooking. I don't really have the time. I have done a few very small projects as gifts that could sort of be considered scrapping - but I actually prefer to do it in my computer and then print it out. Unfortunately, I am very BAD at taking video. Most of the time, we don't even think to pull out the video camera and then on the rare occasions that I do, I do such a poor job that even with major editing in the computer it is hard to put together anything watchable!

Less than 3 months to go :jumping1:

Hi ReneeQ, WELCOME!!

We are also DVC members cruising on our points and we have no children either. Where do you own? We own at BCV and BWV.

We are traveling with my Parents, brother and his family and our nephew is 7 yrs old, so you may see us with a child during the cruise!

My DH and I are both big Disney fans, but I am much more "obsessed"!

We have a cat, but no dog and will celebrate our 12th anniv just after the cruise on Nov 6th. So, we have lots in common! :goodvibes

It is getting closer!! :jumping1:
