October 22, 2005 Roll call

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to send some condolence to our fellow cruisers in England...hoping that you, your families and friends are safe after the recent tragedy in London.

AmericanScrapper....glad to hear you had a great time and did not melt! Congratulations on the addition of your third child to your family!

:teeth:

GrumpyNJeepman....sorry to hear you won't be sailing with us, but I know you'll have a great time when you do set sail!

And welcome to our new shipmates!!! We're growing so fast I can barely keep track!

Anyone bookmarked the hurricane websites yet?

Stacy

To our DISer cruisers from Great Brittain - we hope you and your's are all well. Best Wishes - pdarrah & DH & DS

We are joining this party very late even tho we have had our reservations since late last fall. My SO and I will be joining you on 10/22 with her DD, SIL and Granddaughter (GD?) and another couple and their 2 children. Our group has shrunk to this from 20+ (which is fine w/me). This will be our first DCL, we did RC Inside Passage 2yrs ago. I will have a few (probably alot) of questions as our Cat3 resi date is open as of today I guess.
Anyway hello to All. Keith & Deborah
:wave2:

Welcome MNmousecouple! Several of us here have sailed before, so any questions you have ask away. Pdarrah has a wonderful website started with all the cruisers for 10/22 (the link is under her signature a few posts up). Feel free to send her your information, she is doing a great job keeping it updated with information sent from other cruisers. You can give as much or as little info as you want. We also have a kids link started, although it hasn't had alot of activity yet. I am sure it will get busier as we get closer.

I am sailing with my DH, DS9 & DD6.

Kathy

Thanks Kathy, and congrats for re earning your ears (hope I got that right).
I am hoping my SO (Deborah) will get some time to meet with you and the others, we aren't real social butterflys but between her and her sister Disney is a way of life. Deb also has been into the scapbooking thing so she is really a potential chat mate (goes right over my head). Unfortunately she is non puter person :badpc: , so most of this will be from me....even tho she loves reading it she wont learn how to use it.
Anyway....I made our Palo reservations tonight :sunny: with the information I could gleem from this site...but we are still wondering about the correct dinner rotation...I have seen at least 2 variations on it so far.
Thanks again and we are happy to be with this wonderful group.
Keith & Deborah

Welcome aboard :rotfl: MNmousecouple....your not really late getting started with the thread...were only just starting...even though I started the thread way back when we rebooked...only a few jumped in and chatted here and there....it's just been within the last few weeks that weve had alot of action. :goodvibes . I've been going crazy trying to pick what night to do Palo...what did you go with??...you must either be in a cat 1-3..or booked the REAS package to have already booked your Palo...As for the dinner rotations...it varies..there are two times (Main @ 6:00 and Late @ 8:30)...and there are three diffrent restaurants to dine in (Not counting Palo) depending on what restraunt you have the first night will depend on your rotation...there is APL, PLA, or LAP (A=Animators Palate, P=Parrot Cay and L= Luminers) To make matters even more confussing...the first three nights on the cruise the menus are specific to each of the three dinning rooms on nights 4-7 the menus are the same no matter what dinning room your in (Around the world menu, Priate night menu, Capt gala-semi formal, and Best of the chef's) Oh...and formal night is/should be on Monday night. I don't know if that helped clear anything up for you or made it worst. According to the passporter groups with ALL adults most likely will get LAP rotation, those with Young kids will likely have APL, and others with older kids may have PLA....I'm not sure how much you can really depend on what they say will "likely" happen...when you guess your rotation...but you won't find out until you check in (At least I don't think you can find out untill then)

Hmmmm now to decide on what night we want Palo....

Anyone not planning on going there?

Oh boy I really need to get busy on figuring out the button costs...what do you all think of the total number? Last I counted we were up to 70 some (I think)...but I think the closer we get the more people we will have join our group...I'd say we should get no less than 150...but almost think since were already up to 70 some...that's only leaving...well I guess that would leave 80 do you think that's a safe number to have for everyone who joins the group from here on out? Oh....that number is also not counting the newest members of our group...which if I counted correctly is 9 more??....so were over 80 now leaving.....I think 60 some. Also...we have a pay pal account that we've used on ebay to pay for items we've bid on...but have never sold anything so I'm not sure if were set up to recieve funds....anyone know if it's hard to set up?

I'll get started and post the total we'll need ASAP.

Scrapperjill, thanks for the warm welcome :flower: Deb has us in Cat 3 w/her DD&SIL in adjoining room, this is her wedding gift to them from last year. She actually had us all in Cat 2 but then got moved out since that trip got cancelled for the dry dock. We talked last night and picked Tuesday early seating for Palo, I slightly disagree with the early seating but I'm sure it will work out fine. We have been working off of the first issue of Passporter and I went out friday to pickup newest but BN has to order it. Another source we have been using is (hope this is allowed) is Deb Wills site and the
magical disney cruise guide that is available there for download.
After the cruise we are going to spend saturday night at WDW. Deb wants to see the Cirq (sp?) and I want to visit the Food & Wine festival :Pinkbounc
103 days and counting down to the :boat:
Now if we could hear from her DD and family who moved last yr to Gainesville
and are now in season 2 of Hurricanes :earseek:

Welcome! to MNmousecouple and Skaught!

I just wanted to let you guys know about my trip to the Disney store today! They are having a BIG sale :cool1:

I purchased a "golf" shirt for DH with Grumpy on it for $9.99 and a Lime Green Cup with Mickey and Minnie in tropical clothes for $1.99 that I plan to bring on the cruise to use at the soda station. :flower1:

I wish we had a Disney store near us... :guilty: We did go to one in Seattle last week and found a couple items at the Disney store there...well okay a few more than a couple ;) ...But I could have gone crazy if I really had the chance. I guess it's a good thing we don't have one to close to us. And the real reason we even went was to replace the Mickey and Minnie plush that I sold to a friend (so she could suprise her kids with the whole cruise plan) Lucky for me they were on sale when we went so I had a little extra to buy some of the other sale goodies.

Okay I finally got around to checking prices for the badges and supplies. I figured in the cost for 150 badges....the total cost should be around $160 :earseek: I know it looks outrageous but when you figure out the cost per badge it's less than $1.10 each :goodvibes ...that sounds so much better...doesn't it.

So far I have.....

Who have said they'd donate to the button fund...any other takers? For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about....We thought having dis name tags would be a fun idea and a good way to spot one another through out the week...it'll also help us remember one anothers dis name and real name :) I have a button maker...so I've volunteered to make buttons for everyone...including kids. Seeing that the cost for getting enough supplies is up there...some fellow disers have volunteered to contriubute to the button pot. Seeing that we have sooo many people in the dis group (and i'm guessing we'll grow) I'd like to get the stuff ordered as soon as I can...so I can get a early start making them. I'll give it a couple more days to see who else would like to contribute to the funds...then I'll let you all know how to get the money to me. Sound good :teeth:

Scrapperjill, I/we would be happy to contribute if you can handle snail mail, i got rid of my paypal after several attempts were made on my account, so now I do money orders. Not sure if you can get my email from here but if not let me know and I'll give it to you. Thanks for all you do! :love2:

SCDizneyDawn, Thanks for the welcome :goodvibes
I wish we still had a Disney store here...my dd and I loved that store
or should I say Visa and the store loved us...hmm
Wish mall of america was closer
thanks again :sunny:

ok, now I'm feeling like a page hog, SO is truely interested in the door art/sign thing but I can't for the life of me do a search that brings up this topic :badpc:
I'm sure it's me but I'm suposedly good at this stuff :rotfl2:
thanks for any pointers or advise

MNMouseCouple... I added you to the list for funding. I think snail mail would be just fine. I can pay with our pay pal account...but I've never recieved funds that way. I wouldn't even know where to start.

pdarrah, many thanks for the link. Such wonderful people on these boards!
Walt would be proud of such a fine group. :worship:

Hi Scrapperjill,

Just in case you want to know .... I just talked to DH about Paypal - he sells on ebay (old glassware, dishes, etc) and is very knowledgable about how Paypal works. He says that you are automatically able to receive funds up to $500 total (if over time you top the $500, you need to then setup something else) as long as it is not coming from a credit card. That means that if someone has a Paypal account that either has cash in it or is tied to pull it from their checking account, you can receive that without doing anything. As long as your Paypal account it setup to use your checking account, you can transfer the cash to your checking account after you receive it. If you are not setup to use your checking account, then you can use the money to purchase something via paypal. He said that you DO NOT want to setup your account to accept credit card payments - it is OK for a seller like him, but once you have set it up that was, paypal deducts a percentage "processing fee" from ALL incoming payments, even if they are not coming from a credit card!

All someone who wants to send you money needs is your Paypal name.

If all of this is too big a pain, I certainly don't mind sending a check via snail mail!

pdarrah

Pdarrah....thanks...We do have a paypal account so it looks like were set to go. It's DH account so I'll double check with him to see if he minds me getting funds in it...but i'm sure it won't be a problem. Also for those of you who would rather use snail mail...I really don't mind. So far it looks like were up to 7 takers....I'll give it a few more days to see if anyone else want's to pitch in...then we'll figure out how much each will be. I guess we'll also have to have every one who indeed would like a name badge give me the ok to make it...along with all the names of everyone in their party that's getting one. :teeth:

Not much longer now....

Hello all! It looks like this thread is in full swing!! :cheer2: Pretty soon most of us will be able to make our online ressies for Palo, excursions, spa and, hmm, oh yeah, sign up for the kids club   LOL!!. I cannot wait! It is getting closer.

We have been doing alot of running around here with Baseball. Anthony made the All Star team (part time travel) for the 8 yr olds and they had their first tournament this past week. They did very good, placing 3rd. They played against some teams that travel full time and played their little hearts out. I couldn't have been more proud of all of them. They lost only 2 games and won 5 - 3 from come from behind in the 6th inning and the other 2 were back and forth with the score the whole game. Last nights game was by far their best going into extra innings and with my son hitting the final Home Run to seal the win for them. :teeth: (yes, I am the proud Mom!). We have started to call them the Cardiac Kids because they are going to give us all heart attacks the way they have been playing. Anyways, I thought that tonight I would have a baseball free evening and guess what...the All Star game is on! :confused3 What's a girl to do? Oh well, its a good thing I like baseball, and I have to cheer on my beloved White Sox players that have made it in, not to mention cheer for the American League to win tonight so that the Sox can have home field advantage in the World Series! Oh, that would be a wonderful thing for us Sox Fans, but I am not getting too excited yet, I wouldn't want to jinx them.

Sorry for going off topic (and make it long), I was just so excited!!

Kathy
