October 22, 2005 Roll call

Timon, have a safe trip!! See you on the 22nd.

Pdarrah, I know what you mean about getting last minute things done. I feel like it never is ending. We have Peyton's birthday party on Saturday and then I can focus on packing. And to make matters worse, I found out that we are most likely moving at work while I am on vacation! That means packing my entire desk before I leave too - and pray that everything gets moved correctly. It would be a nightmare if they lost anything on my computer while I was gone!!

For those of you who haven't seen it, here is a picture of the Magic in drydock last night... believe she is getting ready to leave sometime today if the posts are correct. See that big rectangular glow in the middle? The huge new video screen... up and running!

Hard for me to gauge, being new to DCL and disboards, but looking at the other meet dates it seems that we have very few posts. I am wondering if this means we will have a not as full ship?

Thoughts?

I don't know if number of DISers cooresponds to how full the ship is or not. I had a similar website last year for our cruise for the same week and we actually have more people on the "Who's Going" page this year. Last year's meet thread was a lot longer, but a lot of it was pretty silly "chat" (I remember PAGES of "blue collar" jokes) that a few of the folks got involved with. Most of us only posted when we had something a little more to say. Although not everything posted here is cruise related, I think this thread has been far more "on topic" than some of the others. We just don't seem to be into the chatter that some other groups do on their thread. It is nice to chat a bit and get to know each other, but I kind of like not having to wade through pages of fluff to find the meatier posts!

Hi all :wave2:

Hard to work with the excitement of impending cruise...   :cheer2: :cheer2:

What Deck is the Big screen on? At work and don't want to get caught searching Disney Website... :earseek:

Thanks and see you on 21st and 22nd. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Walter ::MickeyMo

Walter, the big screen looks like it is attached to the railing above Goofy's pool, deck 10.

Not to be a stickler...but the Goofy pool is actually on deck 9... I'm sure the big screen reaches up to deck 10...So I guess you could kind of call it deck 10. :smooth:

Anywho...That's not why I posted...I just wanted to say I got the last of the button orders printed off...now I have to work on cutting them out and assembling them together. I was in a MAJOR panic last night...because our computer pooped! :earseek: Right now...as much as I can tell...I have minimal functioning...and it keeps blacking out now and then... Yesterday I was stuck using my laptop...which isn't all that bad...it's just harder to type alot...So I'll tend to lurk more than pitch in my two cents worth.

Hi ScrapperJill (I am going to have Sooo much trouble with real names once we get onboard!)

Can you plug a real keyboard into your laptop? I HATE the laptop keyboard, so I just plug in a regular keyboard if I use it at home. Of course, I don't drag around a keyboard for travel, so I have to live with the tiny keyboard then. However, I DO carry around a real mouse because I REALLY HATE the stupic little touchpad mouse thing!

Good luck with your computer problems - I think I'd go nuts if I had a computer go down right now. :badpc: :badpc: :badpc: :badpc: :badpc: :badpc: :badpc: :badpc:

Tell me about it...I am going nuts :confused3 . I'm just glad I was able to get the image for the buttons off and finish printing them. I was REAL stressed about that one....that and the fact I have all my digital pics stored on the computer. I have all the photos burned to CD's also...but being able to peak at them on the computer. Luckly our computer is running well enough that I can surf the net :teeth: AKA...be on dis boards.

Oh....there's a BEE in the house...I have to go. :earseek:

hi everyone, just rescued this from page 2....the horror of it!;)

all our docs are sorted now thank goodness. Dreams came thru and had them mailed from DCL overnight:) :cool1:

I have flu now and feel really grotty so just have to keep saying the mantra...." this time next week I'll be on my way home from work, picking up the cases and heading off the airport" :Pinkbounc

Well it was last day at work for us here today and we did the packaing last weekend. Have been tempted to open cases up again but have so far not done it.

We leave Saturday for the airport and stay in a hotel there for the night then fly on Sunday. Just looking at the weather for the 22nd and and it says scattered showers. We dont want that so will have to do something about it pretty quick.

Hope to meet up on the boat and happy holiday to all.
Francis, Brenda, Martine and Kirstie
From a wet drab England - looking for the Florida sun.

Skallywag: That's Floridian for "mostly sunny." :rotfl: Plus it will change ten times between now and then. We may have beautiful sailing weather yet! :sunny: Have a nice trip down.

Scrapperjill, thanks again for doing the buttons. I think I mentioned I did them for my last cruise, and never again, lol. Thank you, thank you. :worship:

UKANGEL, hope you feel better! The small silver lining: better now than next week!. :)

Guess what everyone? My dd had no bad lung sounds when she went to the doctor. :cheer2:

Only 9 days till we're on the Magic! :thewave:

I am slowly getting myself (& family) organized. We still aren't done packing, but a good start has been made. I have most of the papers/tickets/confirmation #'s/etc all organized and ready to go. The pirate costumes are ready to go!

Scallywag - At 10 days out they really don't know what the weather will be like - it is a flat out guess. I learned my lesson a few years ago when I packed for a December trip based on the forcast (for cool weather, highs in the 60's and rainy) and ended up with it around 80 and sunny every day!

ScrapperJill - I also want to join in on the "Thank you!" I just did name tags last year for our cruise and it was a big job - making buttons is amazing!

UKAngel - Feel better soon! Thankfully, most flus seem to only last a couple of days. Take care! I'm glad your docs are straightened out.

MelissaE1 - Congrats on your DD's results :cheer2: :cheer2:

We are at 8 days and counting, Tomorrow is a trip to NY to see Beauty & the Beast, home around 10pm and then on Saturday we hope to get everything packed, Thursday night to Philadelphia, staying at Holiday Inn and flying out 8:00 am the next morning. Can anyone say EXCITED.

Hi hyandui, we are also flying out of Philly about 8am next friday morning, are you flying US Air? I sent you a PM! :flower:

ScrapperJill, thanks again for all your hard work on the bottons! :goodvibes

Neither Brian or I have even begun to pack yet, the suitcases are still in the attic  But, this Sunday is dovoted to that and cleaning the house!

I cannot belive this time next week we will be packing the last of our stuff for our EARLY wakeup call on Friday (we have to leave our house at 5am to make our 8am flight)

Cannot wait, need time off from work BAD!!

There ought to be a law that people have their suitcases out of the attic and packed at least a month before the actual cruise :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I just came home and found the pm for me, I sent a reply, I am loosing my mind waiting to leave and I am told no matter how hard I try the 22nd won't come any faster :hourglass :confused3 . Maybe Radio Shack has some parts to build a time machine

Hello happy travelers

Anyone know how I can get my grumpy Deborah cheered up, she has done this every other trip, week before she gets cranky. :rotfl:
Its funny and she denies it, but trip 3, 3rd time....oh well I know it will go away 6 days and 11 hours from now :cheer2:

just the keith side of the duo :earboy2:

Keith...My thought on your cranky other half...would be find out what all needs to get done before the trip...and help out as much as you can.

I find myself getting on edge the closer we get also...I think it's the "list" of things I have in my mind that need to be done. Things like...yard work, packing, tidy up the house...just a bunch of little things that seems so HUGE the closer we get.

I'm a complete wreck over packing :confused3 We have the majority of our stuff packed...but the pile of bags is overwhelming. I swore we would pack lighter this time...and I really think we have cut out alot of clothing...but we still seem to have WAY to many bags. We have 5 bags were checking...and one carry-on and one personal bag each. I keep telling myself..that one whole carry-on is camera stuff while another one is the laptop....then each of the girls have a bag with stuff for the plane ride....anyway I keep getting into the bags to try and rearrange and cut out a bag or so :confused3 I'm going crazy!!!

Keith, I totally agree with ScrapperJill. I'm probably getting "Crabby" right now also and it is mostly due to that mental list of stuff still to get done! I also always tend to get a little tense before a trip because I worry about leaving our pets (what if one of them gets sick?), problems with the trip (what if our flight is delayed? what if there is a storm?), forgetting something (Did I stop the milk delivery?), and so on and so on. I know that most of this is silly - so I make a lot of lists and try to cover everything so I can tell myself it is taken care of. DH usually adds to my stress since he tends to be a last minute kind of guy and is happily selling stuff on ebay rather than packing! :confused3 You would think I'd be used to it by now - we take 2 trips per year (plus occasionally weekend getaways) - but I still stress a bit when getting ready to go.

Like your DW, I'm usually fine once the trip arrives and I get into the "oh-well, can't do anything about it now" mentality! :cool1:

Thanks, I have a feeling that is what it is altho she does put me in charge of logistics I dont' think she trusts me (unashamably I have never let her down)
So looking forward to meeting you all, I wish she was more into tech stuff but she leaves this to me....and I love it :goodvibes
BTW new spa will be open according to DCL, just work out area still under construction.
