October 22, 2005 Roll call

WOW!! This site has been busy!! I go away for a few days and now have alot of catching up to do! I too am doing the DOC Dance!! :cool1: Got them while I was in Indianapolis scrapping last weekend. I was literally dancing in my seat when Jim called to tell me. I have not done any packing yet! I keep saying that I will start, but keep getting involved in other things. Also, we will be having Peyton's birthday party next weekend. As you can see, I have been very busy!!!

And I MUST spend my free time watching my beloved White Sox playing awesome post season baseball!! :teeth: It has been very exciting here in Chicago for the White Sox fans. :cheer2: :cheer2: We are hoping for a game three win tomorrow. We got tickets for the second game of the next series!!

I think I will have to try a Miami Vice too!! MMmmmmm!!!

Sooooooooooo, The MAGIC is in dry dock getting a makeover just for our cruise, do we have anyone in the Virginia area with a camera with a telephoto lens? any hints what new items are being added, someone posted something about a big screen tv. whats-upppppp.

I'm a Phillies fan but since they're not in it I'm rooting for the Sox. Love that Ozzie Guillen. Let's hope we're watching them while we're on our cruise American Scrapper.

My DF is also enjoying the White Sox being in the playoffs. Since we are in the far west suburbs, we don't have the North side = Cubs, South side = Sox thing in our blood! :) DF watches both teams and only occasionallly has to choose between them! Do you think DCL will be showing the world series on the big screen on deck 9?

Hyandui - Someone posted some pretty good pictures in this thread http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=928413 of the Magic in dry dock.

Scrapperjill, thanks for the reply about our tags. Dreams contacted Disney who are trying to get new ones to us asap.

Not long now! :cheer2:

Work is really tough just now (I'm in education) and I can't wait for the holiday! :cloud9:

Hello out there,

Any fellow boarders from New York on the 10/22/2005 cruise?Just asking as, although this trip is to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary, it is actually on 01/17/2006, when we will be visiting the Big Apple to celebrate, again! We will be taking our one and only DD with us then to make it a proper family trip.

Just thought it would be good to touch base with some people from that neck of the woods, so we can get some tips.

:wave2:

Hey everyone...We were all the way on the second page :confused3 ....and with only two weeks to go...we shouldn't be falling behind. What's up?

Were planning on doing a packing weekend today and/or Sunday..or at least that was the plan. But some where along the line...Jesse has decided we need to get some new cars. :confused3 TODAY!!! Leave it up to the men...to change all the plans. Dosn't he know we need to PACK!!! :goodvibes

Anyways...I just wanted to bump us back up to the first page.

Scrapper you are such an early bird! :goodvibes
can we help with a bump also, have to keep working toward our ears ya know :cheer2:  :Pinkbounc
2 weeks and subtracting :bounce: :bounce:

Go, Go White Sox!!!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:   Well, it looks like I may be spending alot of time in Diversions during our cruise!! (At least I hope so).

I cannot believe it is only 2 weeks away until we cruise. Oh, I have so much to do still! I am still working on Peyton's costume, but am almost done. My DS just told me he does not want to be a pirate! Now that I got him half the costume already!! I hope he will at least wear it on the cruise. And I have not even started on DH's or my pirate outfits. I guess I will be crunching time until we leave.

Pdarrah, did you ever receive your costumes you ordered on Ebay? That is always my fear when I use Ebay, that something will fall through. Although it doesn't really stop me :teeth:

Kathy

Good morning everyone - Wow, we're all up bright and early today!

My costume finally arrived yesterday afternoon!! :) :cool1: It IS really nice, but this may be the first BAD feedback we leave for someone on Ebay. We ordered it on Aug 2nd, it was supposed to be here before Sept 22nd and we didn't get it until Oct 7th. I wouldn't mind the delay so much if they had communicated and kept us informed about what was going on - but we had to email repeatedly to get any response and then that was vague. Since DH sells on Ebay, we tend to also buy stuff there and this is actually the first real problem we have had....

Now I have to figure out what shoes go with it and other accessories!

I am also planning on getting going with the packing this weekend - but first I have to take DS to karate - so I better get moving!

Your not too far from us, we live in the Pocono Mountains, Pocono Pines. :wave2: Don't know if you have ever traveled there :moped: We have many vacation developments around us and alot of people from NY and NJ have 2nd homes here. Any Wayyyyyyyyyy, it's 14 days and counting   and away we sail

I agree with scrapperjill, we need to get this thread going!!!

Well it sounds as if we might be the first ones leaving. We are gone in THREE DAYS!!!!!!!! :bounce: We are leaving Tuesday night for the airport hotel and catch an early flight to Orlando on Wednesday! So, we are ALL packed  Well, except for our toiletry stuff of course! :rolleyes1

Got the traveler's cheques, and travel medical insurance so we are all set!
We have a lazy day today, cleaning day tomorrow and then Monday is the Lupus Walk and hubby has to do some work on Tuesday and then we're off!!

We're so excited! This will be our last trip for a very long time so we made sure to do the stuff we've wanted to do for many years now. We are doing Discovery Cove on Thursday, Seaworld on Friday then staying on-site at Universal for the week-end before spending 5 days at the Beach Club Villas!!!

Can't wait for our DIS meet on the ship, I can just imagine the positive, fun vibes at that party!!!! :cool1:

I swear this is the last question about attire. I'm already starting to pack. I'm off from school this week for fall break and figure that gives me plenty of time to pack, repack, and then watch my husband pack everything.

Do we have a formal night? I read somewhere that they have one on the 7night cruise, but haven't heard anything. Or is pirate night formal night?

I have quite a packing list going in excel. After many trips, print out the travel list so you can check it off as you pack in the room. i'm always the person to leave something behind.

Hi Mrs. Abuboo!

Yes, there is a formal night and a semi formal night. (Monday & Thursday) I am also starting my packing. We tend to dress on the fancier end of "formal" - DH, DF & DS will all be in tuxedos for formal night. DH & DF will probably decide that day if they will wear them again for semi-formal. If they don't, they'll still wear a jacket and tie. I have a fairly dressy tea-length gown for formal night and a just little less dressy dress for semi-formal.

However, last year, there were plenty of folks a lot LESS dressed up than us. Most everyone was dressed nice - but not everyone was truly "formal".

I hope that helps.

pdarrah

I might even wear my rhindstone tiara for formal night! I did last year and it was fun to play "princess" as a grown-up. :) princess:

oh how fun. i'll have to see if i can squeeze into my formal wear. i was supposed to go to the grammy's a few years ago and those plans fell through. nice to see mark will have lots of opp. to wear his new suit. :)

Is there really a laudry place onboard. that would be great. less daytime outfits, more nighttime ensembles. if there is, does anyone know how much? I'm getting excited. :jumping1:

I guess it wasn't terribly late there just seemed that way when I got up for work here :earboy2: You are destined to be the night life person working from west coast hours as you are :rotfl:

Walt & Di, best I can now figure out we should be at the Radisson sometime between noon and 6pm :confused3 I'm guessing around 4 tho, the earlier the better. :drinking1 :drinking:

I assume everyone is as calm and collected counting down the days as we are
:rotfl: :rotfl2: :bounce:

My head is still spinning from spending the day yesterday car shopping. :confused3 ...and of course we didn't even start packing until after 10pm...we did get some of it done and I'm hoping well get back to it today...but we have a few trip errands to go do this afternoon (the girls have a portable DVD player we were planning on packing...for the LONG plane ride but the hinge is cracked :guilty: and we've only used it twice. So were planning on running to the store to see what else they have for exchange. Anyways....I can not wait until trip day arrives :goodvibes

I'm Jelious of you Timon...getting to leave this week  Well...Have fun for all of us.
