October 21 - 25th Ressies Dillema????

Okay,
My daughter cheers at our local football field. We were just notified that there is a CHEER Competition on the 24th of October and their last game is Sat. the 23rd! I thought for the last game NO PROBLEMO - I could drive her back to the field in Lithia (45 minutes one way) and then return. Well now their is a Competition on Sunday - all day event til at least 5 - 6:00pm. So do I cancel my ressies that I have looked forward too since last October. Try to go to the last game and part of the competition - they don't compete until last which would be late afternoon! I have so many decorations that I purchased last year after Halloween with all Disney themed items... I am so torn - trying to figure out what is the right thing to do......

I'd stick with the reservations. The last couple times staying there (we lived in Kissimmee), we didn't want to pay the fee for the kennels, so we would drive home twice a day. In the morning we'd drop her off at home, and in the afternoon pick her up to stay with us. We paid the extra 5$ for the pet site, but we used a tent. If we didn't go anyplace for the day, we kept her with us.
It took time out of the day, but was worth it to us.

How does your daughter feel about the game and competition?? Would she mind missing the game?? Is there a way to find out what time she's competing so you're not there all day?

How about coming the week of Halloween? I still have a site with the group reservation, let me know if you want the information. There will be a lot of Dis members there that week and weekend.

Thanks for the responses! Well, Halloween is out of the Question! We always host Halloween at our home with about 40 family and friends!! No can do their!!! As far as the competition, I will commute for the game on Saturday, the thing is with the competition - I do not know yet where it is being held. She has to be there by like 7:00am with hair done up - last game is the day before - nasty sweaty cheer outfit - DRAMA - of a teenage girl getting ready in a TRAVEL TRAILER to deal with - pretty much missing out on Sat and Sun at the FORT!! So I just don't know what to do - cancel??

See the biggest issue is checking out, I'd say stick with the 25th check out because it'd be too much of a hassle to do on sunday morning.

What about just staying at home saturday night after the game and leaving the TT there?? Then after the competition head back to the site for your final night.

Is there a game and competition every weekend prior?? Because Halloween at the Fort pretty much happens all month long.

After much thought was given, we have to cancel our reservations from Oct.20-25th! So I will cancel them more than likely by the end of the weekend. Question though does anyone know if we could come on a Friday evening with our golf cart and park in the area by the kennel and drive the cart around the sites for the evening???? Please let me know if you think that would work, just to see the Halloween decorations!! So - so sad we have to cancel!!!!

How old is the daughter? If she'e a preteen, keep the reservations. If she's a high school senior, cancel and get mad at the organizers for not giving more advanced notice.

Sorry you need to cancel. But take it from a mom (grandmom) whose 3 little girls are all grown up with little ones of their own. They grow up soooooo fast. I'd love to go back to one more mommy/daughter event. Just once. Disney will be there. My first trip was over thirty years ago when they were so little.
