Jeff,
you're doing all the hard work for us - I'm going to have to buy you the drink of choice come October...Viva le Mochaccino!!

BTW - alcohol is a perfectly acceptable substitution should you so choose. :teeth:

I never got into anything coffee and Suz is very allergic to it (only after DS was born). I'm up for a Konk Kooler or a Bloody Mary (drink specials before noon - so I've been told. I never really had one in the monring. It was more like 2 or 3 :rotfl: ).

I was just surprised to see the SPH available. If you are considering doing it next year, I'd lock that now. It would cost you $400 to hold it. Put it on the Disney Visa and you have 6 months to pay for it. Maybe sweet talk them into giving you at least the 10% off for rebooking on board since you are just coming off a cruise that you booked on board previously. Doesn't hurt to ask.

Nancy,

P.S. I was looking at the sight today. Chuck and I share the same b-day. :cake: :bday:

Well just make sure you are on that ship next October and I'll stand behind Brenda to buy you a drink.

Nancy, I ve been re reading this thread as my PC went a bit weird ( thats how I missed Karens reply about the badge) I bet you think ive lost my manners, not thanking you for the discount ticket and parking permit. :guilty: I really thought I had said thanks to you ( I KNOW I typed it :confused3 ) anyway it was wonderful. Being able to park close by was a life saver at the end of the night. And a couple of times we were soooo pleased, as we could just leave Ellie asleep in the buggy and walk to the car, rather than folding the buggy up, taking her out first of course! :rotfl2: and getting the tram. Which was packed!
The discount card we used once and paid in cash, no questions asked. Though I did look VERY VERY guilty!

On this subject, we saw a man getting "arrested" at WDW for stealing, by plain clothed cops. Also in Universal we saw a family group ( from the UK, im afraid to admit) who told their 5 and 8 yr olds, to take what they want and put in their pockets. I was soooo shocked ,we watched them steal about 8 magnets and pens...... I went to get a staff member who said, they couldnt do anything about it ??? :furious: I was so mad, as they left I said in a loud voice " I think your kids have forgotten to pay" the Dad, gave me a dirty look and the group walked off, still with all the stuff. Elouise was really sad that day, cos sge was $5 short for a toy she wanted. I was trying to be strict and teach her to budget, but when she Said they stole mumy and thats really bad, even if you REALLY REALLY want something. I was so proud of her, I explained I would give her the $5, for being a good girl. Honestly, you try and bring them up well, but she just saw the other kids have about $50 of stuff!

Linda, You did thank me many times for the parking pass and the discount card. No need to thank me again. I'm just so glad that you got to use them both. :cheer2:

That is so sad about the theft. What a horrible thing to teach your children. I wonder why the staff couldn't/wouldn't do anything about it?? :confused3

is there anyone on the thread who's taken both a 4-nighter and a 7-nighter? And who can offer opinions as to which is better?

I'd rather do a 7-night cruise but my parents want to do 4-nights. So I told them to go ahead and do the 4-night but they want us to go, too. Shocking, isn't it?

We just aren't convinced that a 4-night Disney cruise is the best use of money and we like having 7 nights on the Magic...gives you time to settle in and get your sea legs, arrrrr.

Anyway, was just curious if anyone had any opinions or thoughts they could share.

Thanks!

B.

It's been a while since I've been on a cruise (12 Years to be exact--I met my wife on that cruise) It was a 4 night cruise. Since it was a west coast cruise and I live on the west coast, it was actually a good deal for me. 4-nights are actually cheaper than the 3-nights are. They have a greater difficulty filling the 4-night cruises. Plus I can drive to the port as opposed to paying airfare. It also gives me a few days before the cruise to prepare and a few days after to prepare to go back to work. That said, I never calculated the per night cost of a cruise and the savings found on a 7-night on a per-night basis makes a lot of sense to me. It is especially true since I have to fly to Florida to do a Disney Cruise. That cost is static. Does not matter if I do a 3,4, or a 7 night cruise. The cost will be the same. Thus makes more sense to do a 7 nighter if you are flying.

Ok, tell me the other hall monitors got another big email with homework for us to do? - I cant look at it yet - not feeling brave enough and I only have 45 minutes til i leave for the school run and I know it'll take way longer than that :lmao: :badpc:

Wow Cass - 2 weeks til you pop! - I cant wait for "baby Konk Kruiser" to arrive :goodvibes. You'll have to get her a bib with "Konked Kruiser" printed in it :goodvibes

My best friend is due on boxing day and I already have his christmas present incase he's early! :teeth:

Lindy - if your pc is playing up......... just hit it - it works for me :badpc: :badpc: :lmao:, or turn it off and blame your hubby :lmao: :rolleyes1

Thanks again for the "short" cruise advice. It won't happen next year because Jason and I already have our vacation mapped out. It's a possibility for 2008, but I doubt it will happen - unless I can convince Jason to a 7-night eastern and then follow it with a 4-nighter. But I think I'd rather go to Hawaii. :goodvibes

Advice please guys.

What day should Wayne and I do Palos? I think we will prefer brunch or tea? I LOVE tiramsui (Spelling?) and Creme Brulee. Wayne loves triffle!!!

Wayne and I are not "posh" eaters. Like snails etc. Any advice please?

Timon, word of warning Elouise was 2 weeks early, :teeth: so take things easy. ! a BIG :grouphug: to you both.

Karen are you watching Im a celebrity? What a load of rubbish Scott was on the task !! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Even I could do better than that!

Lessee... on the Western they will offer brunch and tea on Sunday, Monday, and Thursday. I would advise against Sunday for either if you have plans to bop around Key West that afternoon (the Magic usually docks in Key West around noon).

Last time we did brunch on Monday and tea on Thursday...and I think we had dinner at Palo on Tuesday.

Don't sell dinner there, short, Linda - it's really good and it's the only chance you'll have to try their famous chocolate souffle! :thumbsup2

PS - And don't forget about the character breakfast, which is only offered on Sunday, Monday, and Thursday. You'll want to be sure to allow time to go to that as well!

Mind if I jump in? I didn't realize Palo's isn't open every day. Is it difficult to get reservations for dinner and brunch?

Palo is open every night for dinner, but they only offer brunch and afternoon tea on "at-sea" days. Brunch can be difficult to get, but we've always been able to get the ressies that we've wanted.

Dinner is easier because you have seven nights to choose from.

Bumping up..........................

Hi Linda

Yes I have been watching - the only one I like so far is Jason Donovan - all the others are either moaning or boring. Cant wait to see Jan Leeming on that thing tonight :lmao: - we'll hear her moaning from here!

We fancy doing Palos too! - my hubby says if he has to bring a suit he may aswell wear it twice!

We cant book anything for ages anyway. Being a cat 11 we'll be last to book so it might be all full by then. :confused3
I havent worked out what date it is yet, but I'll be on the phone.
Dont forget to book your seats on line if you're flying with Virgin. :thumbsup2

Karen,

The Category of room you have only matters if you are in Cat 1-3. They can book at 105 days out.

If you sailed before on DCL, you can book at 90 days.

Everyone else is at 75 days, regardless of category.

So you'll have the same chance as everyone else. Remember, they always hold several ressies out to be handed out once we are on board. Once you board, go right to Rockin Bar D (I believe that's the one) and you should have no problem getting a ressie if you didn't get one on line.

Ooo, definately do Palos. Don't worry about the posh nosh, they will always prepare something special for you. We went in September and had a wonderful meal.

I loved it when he started singing a song, but didn't know any of the words. He also looked stunned when they all started singing a song from Joseph :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Gos, are you cruising with us on the 20th Oct??? sorry if I have missed your threads previously, we are quite a chatty lot, so there is lots to read! :teeth:

Yes that bit with jason D was sooooo funny ! :rotfl2: helps me cope with this horrid dark cold weather.

OK everyone, another question Waynes not keen to wear a full on suit for formal night. Is a smart long sleeved shirt and tie OK ? Tux simply take up too mush room in the case, and he wont wear hired clothes.

Thanks.............. Linda

Linda,

He should be o.k. in just a tie. You will see all different kinds of attire. Just go back a few months and look at the posts regarding the reporter who wore a t-shirt (can't remember his name). :rotfl: Although I would say, don't take his route.

If he'd do a tux and it is just to much to pack, you could rent one for around $100, including the shoes. We do this for myself and DS.

DW loves seeing DS in a Tux :groom:

Jeff

This is early, but I'm leaving town today for the weekend, and wanted to wish everyone a good weekend :sunny:

I do have a favor to ask of you all...please keep Nancy and Chuck and their family in your prayers... I don't have Nancy's permission to divulge details, so I'll just say please pray for good news. :grouphug: Thanks...Jo
