Hey Cass, did your friends make it to the Magic yesterday? Are they even now sipping mochaccinos at the Cove Cafe after unwinding in the Rainforest? Are they perhaps on their way to brunch at Palo?

I wish we were all doing that right now! :teeth:

I sure hope everything worked out well for them and that the rest of their trip is deeeeee-lightful!

Brenda

Viva le Mochaccino!!!

A fat english gent, :lmao:

Yeah, I know, I am a little green myself! Although very excited for them since it's their first cruise and it was our cruise last year that made them go on this cruise :goodvibes Plus they have three great kids who have been SO excited to get on the Disney ship!

Karen Mouse,

Holy Toledo, that's a lot of kids!!! You are a brave woman! I don't think I could do that!! :sad2:

cntkg1,

Oh wow, that's very sweet of that guy but he'll never get her passport without her knowing about it LOL! :rolleyes1

Brenda,

I haven't heard from them yet. Not sure if I will. They have 3 kids and his Mom to watch (she tends to wander and get lost) PLUS it's their first cruise, so they are quite busy. But if I hear from them, I will post it here!

My passport expires in November but I think I will wait till early next year to renew since I need one for Kira too. Rob travels for business so he will need to renew by the end of November. And since Rob's family is coming with us this next trip, I will make darned sure that they have their passports months before the trip! Trust me, I don't want to go through what they just did, talk about stress!!!

Okay, well you're all probably sick of hearing about baby stuff already BUT I just wanted to share....went for an ultrasound on Wednesday and we saw all four chambers of her little heart! And we got to see her "practice breathe" which was neat too! She's getting big and everything looks perfectly normal they said. I am still worried about the complications that can occur because of my Lupus/Anticardiolipin Antibody but I am crossing my fingers that she will be ok!

My friends that cruised with us last October just had their baby! She wouldn't go into labour after her water broke so she ended up having a C-section and her baby boy weighed 9 lbs 11 ounces!! He's a BIG boy :teeth:

Great news about the baby, Cass! And we will keep our fingers crossed here in the armpit of the Midwest that everything continues to go well for baby Kira and for you (no complications allowed...shoo, shoo!!). pixiedust:

Cass - its great "seeing" your baby isnt it

It makes it seem "real"! I'm sure she'll be a beautiful and healthy little bundle of joy

Been dissing all afternoon :surfweb: and hitting that search button trying to answer some of the million questions that fly into my head at 3 o clock in the morning

Just had to add - just watched your videos on your website - they were fab  . Makes me want to go sooner!

Cass, I for one will never get tired of your baby stories. Hey, that's what friends are for. :grouphug: It's a very exciting time for you and Rob.

Congrats to your friend too. That's a big baby she had. Both my kids were big ones. DS (now almost 26) was 10.5 pounds and two weeks late. DD (now 22) was 9 lbs and two weeks early. I really thought my DD would be smaller because I ended up losing 14 pounds while I was pregnant with her. :confused3

I was thinking about Kira's passport picture. Wouldn't it be funny to give the passport office a picture of her with strained carrots all over her face?? :lmao: And, how long is her passport good for? It can't last the 10 years that ours does. I'm quite sure her little picture will change over the years. :teeth:

Hope you feel better soon, Cass. Get some rest. :)

Nancy

Karen, feel free to ask your questions here, too! Many of us are "old pros" having sailed DCL on the 7 night itineraries at least once. And some lucky peeps have sailed on the 3 & 4 night cruises as well.

I'm sure we're the smartest group of cruisers you've never met! :teeth:

Brenda :goodvibes

Hi all, just thought I should drop in.

Cass, hope your friends are ok now ? What a stress.
We had to get Elouise a passport at 12 weeks, we tried 8 times to get a picture with her eyes OPEN! I was yelling "boo Boo" at her to get her to look at me. The guy in the photo shop was very patient! Thank God we didnt use a photo booth, it would have cost a fortune, and the people in the white coats would have carried me off !! :rotfl2: Thanks for sharing all your baby info, I find it amazing to know what you can see and hear, whilst they are still in your tum .

Karen, when we go to Orlando in 2 weeks ( I LOVE saying that !) would you like me to post a postcard to your Son, from his favourite character? Someone on the Dis did this for Elouise, and she loved it sooooo much. PM the info if you would like. Its fun to spread some pixie dust! :thumbsup2

Take care all.................... off to do the ironing, ready for school tomorrow...........L x

Everyone here is so nice!! Can't wait to meet all of you!! Thanks for all your kind words and pixie dust and prayers :grouphug:

Nancy,

Wow, your kids were big too! I was my mom's biggest out of 5 and I was 7 lbs 7 ounces, but she was a wee little thing, just under five feet tall, so I must have seemed gigantic at the time  I wish she was still around so I could tell her how amazing she was for doing this 5 times and that I am SO sorry for being three and a half weeks late :guilty:

Yeah, that would be funny! Carrots all over her face LOL! :lmao: Canadian passports are only good for 5 years, not 10 like yours and kids passports under 3 years old are good for 3 years and over 3 is good for 5 years.

Even though it's over a year away, I am already very excited to be taking my little girl to Disney World for the first time. A few months ago I finally found some family slides of our first trip to WDW in 1975 when I was 3.

In honour of my mum, thought I would post a pic of her and I in Disney for the first time, it's what started it all for me, so I am guessing it will do the same for baby Kira (even though she won't remember it, I will document it well for her :teeth: )

Awww Cass, that is such a sweet picture of you and your mom. I'm sure your mom knows how much you admire her and what she did. It's just one of those things that remains unsaid. We just know, just like you will know when Kira forgets to tell you when she gets older. :cloud9:

:wave2:

Hi all! It's been quite a few pages since I've "checked in" with everyone. Not much going on, except for the vacation anticipation is building everyday!

Karen - glad to hear you got things straightened out. Everyday you were saying your TA still hadn't finalized anything yet. I kept thinking uh-oh! Something's not quite right there!

Cass - I'm so excited for you & Rob! You saw the heart chambers - how cool is that! Great photo of you & your mom at WDW. Very sweet!

Brenda - it's so nice to hear you're feeling better. When in May is your anniversary, and how many years will it be?

Lindy - it does feel good to say "vacation in 2 weeks!" Can the time go by any slower!! Ugh - the waiting is driving us crazy!

Nancy - I'm just glad to see posts from you on our thread again. I missed you there for a while. Hope you had a good relaxing mini-trip.

To everyone else, hi there! I'm not ignoring anyone! It's just funny how some of us are much more verbiose than the rest of us! I love it here! :bitelip:

Ok folks,

I have questions for you! - :confused3 :confused3

1. what time are you likely to get your luggage delivered if you are in Cat 11 and get to the port at about 10am.
Do we need to pack our evening clothes in our carry on?

2.When do you get your boarding number and whats it for?

3.How many cases and bags do you take and where do you put them if the cabin is small?

4. Is the hairdryer really that bad in the cabin? - should I pack one?

by the way... I have now emailed Cass piccie of us so look out for it soon on her cruise page. You'll be able to spot our ugly muggs onboard then! :thumbsup2

bye for now :wave2:

Karen Mouse,

Your info is up! I will try to answer some of your questions!

1. Hard to say, usually you get your luggage by 6pm but there are exceptions. We have received our bags (when in a cat 11) at 1:30pm and last time (when in a cat 6) most of the luggage at 5 pm and my last bag at 10pm!! So if it's really important for you to wear nice clothes to dinner the first night, I would pack them in your carry on! But the first night is the most casual so, no big deal really!

2. I believe you get your boarding card right after you go through security. They board the ship by groups now, concierge guests have #1 boarding cards, then #2 then #3 etc. You board when your # is called. No more waiting in line like before!!!

3. We usually have 2 big bags each and one carry on each. Most of our bags fit snugly under the bed, they can also fit in the closet quite well.

4. The blow dryers are really pitiful! I would bring your own! It would take me about 30 mins at least to blow dry my hair with those things! I don't know why they bother!??

Hope that helps, I am sure you will get lots more answers/info from the others!

Have a Disney Day! :wave2:

Hi Karen,

We overpacked on our first cruise. We both had two large suitcases, Chucks C-Pap machine as a carry-on, our toiletry bag, and a carryon.

I did have our formal wear in our carry-on just in case. I also had the DISboard tag game gifts in our carryon because I didn't want to take the risk of those gifts not making it onto the ship. Inside our carryon we also had the camcorder etc.....

I did see most people with just a small duffle bag before boarding the ship. People must have seen us and thought "Hmmmm first timers!" :teeth:

We were on the first bus out of the airport Hyatt but I really don't remember when we arrived at the terminal. I believe we held boarding pass #3.

I guess we were lucky that the cabins were ready as soon as we boarded so we didn't have to carry all that stuff around. We had all of our luggage by 5:00 and were in a category 5. I didn't know that category numbers had anything to do with when you receive your luggage. :confused3

Thanks Cass for putting us on your page. You all know what we look like, so you can avoid us now :rotfl: The photo was taken recently at a friends wedding (no - we dont dress like that very often!)

Thanks for answering my questions - I know I'm going to overpack

I'm still unsure, do they call you depending on your cabin category? - if so, - we'll be one of the last then! :rolleyes1

Oh well, I'm still getting there at 10am - I wont sleep the night before anyway :Pinkbounc

Karen Mouse,

They only call "concierge guests" first, then it doesn't matter what category you are in, only the order in which you got to the termimal.

If you get there right when it opens, you will get either boarding card #2 or #3.

Hey all. This is the first time I have looked at this thread. We will be coming along on this cruise. It will be me, my husband, and 2 girls (10 and 4). My friends, husband, wife, 2 sons (9 and 6). Their neighbors husband, wife, and son (6). Co-worker husband, wife, 2 sons (4 and 1). We are all very excited. It will be my 5th Disney cruise. Someone please give an update (short and sweet). Any new news from the cruise line?

Hi Karen! Here are some more answers for you!

1) There is no real guaranty of when your luggage will arrive at your stateroom - it just shows up during the afternoon and evening of embarkation day. The first time we cruised we were in a Cat. 6 and had all of our luggage before the muster drill (arrived at port around 11AM). Last year we were in a Cat. 4, arrived at port around 12:30PM and didn't get our last piece of luggage until about 6:30PM. Since we always have late dinner we weren't too worried about it. The only things I have in our backpack are bathing suits, my medicine cabinet (ha ha !), money, identification and cruise docs, and camera, iPods, and stuff like that. The only other carry-on we have is our computer bag with our laptop.

2) Once you arrive at the cruise terminal and have cleared security you will be handing a small card with a boarding number on it by a CM - the earlier you get to the terminal the lower your boarding number.

3) I do not pack light!! It's another chronic condition that I have for which there is no cure! :teeth: For just Jason and I we usually have a garmet bag, a large suitcase, a medium sized suitcase, a large backpack/duffel - that's our stuff that we check. We also have my smaller backpack and our computer bag that we carry on. What can I say? I like to change clothes a lot and have a lot to choose from (and I love shoes!!). We have always been able to store all of our empty luggage in the stateroom closet with plenty of room to spare, even with all of my dresses and Jay's shirts / pants and tux.

4) Oh, God yes...bring your own hairdryer. That thing in the cabin...I'm not sure what it really is but it's not a hairdryer. We always bring a surge protector with multiple outlets that we plug into the outlet by the desk - then we can re-charge our electronic stuff and I use that to power the ol' hairdryer - the light is better in that area of the cabin (if you have a window or verandah).

I hope that helps confuse you even more!! :teeth:

Poohbush, thanks for the kind words...I'm back at work and while I'd rather be napping I am feeling better. Our anniversary, by the way, is May 29th. Next year will be 8 years of marriage (and then I guess you could add another 4 for the number of years we dated!).

Welcome aboard Goofyfreak!

Ok can you tell me please, anyone got experience of an inside cabin ( we wanted this type, cos we are worried about Elouise climbing and falling overboard.................well and also we are tight arses too and we thought we would save a few $'s :teeth: )

So with the hair dryer thing, on our 4 nighter, we werent planning to take a hair dryer. As the villa we are in the the rest of the 3 weeks, has a wonderful one. How bad is it realy, and where is it plugged in, can it be plugged in anywhere or is it fixed?
For formal night could I use the gy or spa, are their hairdryers better there?

Thanks.............. Im not that vain............... honest! :sunny:

Linda, the hair dryers are mounted to the bathroom wall and can't be moved as far as I know...they remind me of my central vacuum in my house (aside from the fact that my central vac has lots of power and the DCL hair dryer has none! :teeth: ). I guess you could say that the DCL hair dryer "blows" but not in a good way...and if I said it sucked that would just be misleading! :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

I don't know if there are hairdryers in the ladies changing room at the spa - maybe someone else knows? :confused3
